Can I Get A Ticket For Having My System To Loud

Nj ticket for loud exhaust?

You were cited for a loud exhaust not because the exhaust pipe or muffler is illegal, but because the noise was disturbing the peace. A loud exhaust is the equivalent of loud music and especially in residential neighborhoods, can be seen as a disturbing noise in a mostly quiet place. As a result of this the police officer pulled you over. Even if your exhaust is legal, he can continue to pull you over and cite you, because you are continuing to disturb the peace.

Can you get a ticket for playing loud music in your car? and, what do you think of if?

In my area you can get a ticket if your music is too loud.I wish they would actually enforce it.I'm tired of the windows in my house vibrating when someone is stopped at the stop sign at the corner.

Loud car stereo systems irritating?

I love listening to my stereo more than the average person, probably, but that is one thing that irritates me as well. Out of respect, people should turn down their systems when they're sitting at red lights or driving through neighborhoods.

There are towns that have imposted limits on how loud car stereos can be, and will fine drivers if they're playing it too loudly.

I don't care if someone wants to ruin their own hearing, but when I can hear someone else's system louder than my own, when I'm sitting in my own car...then something should be done.

How much do loud music tickets average?

ok i got my first ticket ever last night. a cop pulled me over and said i was being pulled over for having my music too loud, which yes i have a system and it was too loud. i continued to ask him what the decibal limit was and he said tere was no limit, just if it can be heard from over 50 feet away. i said why wasnt i informed of this law in drivers ed? he then asked me why i had such a smart mouth and i replied im not being smart i just feel like im being pulled over for something i wasnt aware of. the cop said it was my responsibility to be aware of the citys laws. i then asked how would i go about becoming informed of these laws if they are not taught in drivers ed. the cop hesitated for a second and studdered as he said shut up your getting a ticket over and over again. i was just currious how much you guys have paid for your music tickets and wether or not i should try to fight the ticket.

How can I fight a loud music ticket when I have a stock radio and speakers and my windows were up?

First of all, 25 ft is utter bullshit. The standard is 100 ft, and "tough" cities use 50 ft (in most states, there is no law; just civil codes for each town/city). Anyway, it's highly unlikely that the prosecutor will even see you. If he does, he's not going to drop the ticket. The most he will do is offer you a "plea bargain": you plead guilty, and he'll make the fine lower.

So, plead not guilty, then do most of the things that William suggests. Just remember, traffic court is designed to get your money out of your pocket, and into theirs. That means that you have to use all of the things you have at your disposal to defend yourself. Getting your stock system looked at/measured was a good start, but I'd personally buy two pair of these: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-7e9YPIHrAQk... to remove most of the bass from your factory speakers. If it's got a factory sub, cut one of the wires to it, then splice it back together after the trial.

Just don't be surprised if the judge refuses to leave the courtroom, and finds you guilty. Tell him the moment he says the word "guilty" that you request a retrial, since you couldn't have a fair trial, because he refused to hear your stereo. After the second or third time you make them have another trial, they'll want to drop the charges, because it's costing them more money than they would have made from the fine. That's how you beat traffic court.

Can you actually get a ticket for your music being too loud in your car?

Yes. Most states have both criminal laws and vehicle codes that an officer can use to charge you. Here are the two laws in California.Penal Code section 415. “Any of the following persons shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for a period of not more than 90 days, a fine of not more than four hundred dollars ($400), or both such imprisonment and fine:(1) Any person who unlawfully fights in a public place or challenges another person in a public place to fight.(2) Any person who maliciously and willfully disturbs another person by loud and unreasonable noise.”orVehicle Code section 27007. “No driver of a vehicle shall operate, or permit the operation of, any sound amplification system which can be heard outside the vehicle from 50 or more feet when the vehicle is being operated upon a highway, unless that system is being operated to request assistance or warn of a hazardous situation.”

Is driving with loud music illegal in CA?

Each jurisdiction has it’s own rules regarding loud music, and, knowing CA, I would not be surprised if loud music is illegal. I lived in CA for two years back in the early 90’s as a sailor, and, loud music, when it is overly loud is, to me, a nuisance. Of course, the saying that, ‘If the music is too loud, you’re too old,’ is not true. If the music is too loud, it’s just too darned loud. That said, most jurisdictions expect loud music after a certain time, is proscribed. Generally, after 10 pm, is considered the cutoff for loud music. After that time, if people complain, the law may be called, and, if the violator does not follow the suggestions of the LEO, a ticket may be written.

Can you get pulled over for having music too loud in a car?

How do I make my truck louder without buying new exhaust pipes?

you don't have to change all that . you can make it louder by buying some flowmasters muffler . but if you want to get more performance out of your Chevy . consider buying some headers and good muffler . still you don't have to overhaul your exhaust system. it works......

Can I be pulled over because I am playing loud music with my windows rolled down?

Potentially, YES!!!Most municipalities have ‘noise bylaws’, and making excessive noise is a violation of these. So having your radio too loud, or having one of those ridiculous mufflers (like on a suped-up car, or motorcycle), or peeling your tires, or otherwise making a racket, could all be offenses which you could get pulled over for.(Also, having super-loud music on municipal streets, especially in residential neighborhoods, is super-inconsiderate, and very douchy; plus you’ll eventually go deaf - don’t do this.)
