My boyfriend does not have insurance and got a speeding ticket in my father's insured car.?
My boyfriend is not on the policy but he got a speeding ticket in my car (legally my father's). I gave the officer my proof of insurance and he just handed it back but I don't exactly know what my polcy has. But, in general, would my parents insurance go up and what would happen if my boyfriend doesn't have insurance?
My boyfriend has an SR22 in Indiana, a personal car insurance. I was driving his car and was pulled over. Can they still suspend my license for not having insurance?
If he's complying with the SR-22, the car was insured. If he's a gentleman, he'll provide you a copy of the proof of insurance, showing the car was covered at the time of the citation. At which point they'll probably dismiss the ticket.If the car was covered, they can't suspend your license, but you can get a ticket for not providing proof.
Can my car insurance company force me to have ex-boyfriend on my policy?
My boyfriend who was between moving from his parents house to his apartment stayed with me for a couple of weeks. He borrowed my car to get to work once and totaled it. He became my ex-boyfriend shortly after. My insurance covered everything, but added him to the policy because he "lives with me". He never did and currently does not!! His license was suspended the day after the accident, so he's not even a licensed driver anymore. I have to pay $608/month to have him on my insurance...if they take him off, it goes back down to $120/month! They said if I send a utility bill in his name to prove he doesn't live with me, they will take him off, but all of the bills are in his roommates name :(. She's let me look through the mail to find letters I could use, but the only mail he gets is from the insurance company and they won't accept their own letters :(. I am going to lose my job, my home, and my new car if I have to continue to pay this amount! I all ready still owe half of last month's on my only credit card and once it is drafted this month, I will be over my credit limit :(. I have always had perfect credit... If he's not on your insurance then he would not be covered and yes you'd get in trouble if you had an accident. You'd get in trouble because you allowed someone with no insurance to drive your car. Yahoo answers is full of people that did it and got into trouble and also people that don't have a clue about these matters and keep on saying that it's ok to give your car to an uninsured driver.

The insurance coverage is on the car not the driver. It is the owner of the car who is responsible for ensuring that their car is insured with at least the legal minimum insurance. Even if you owned a car and it was insured, if you were driving your boyfriend’s car and had an accident, it would be his insurance that would have to pay and it would be his insurance rates that would go up as a result. If you simply get pulled over you would have to present your drivers license and his ownership and proof of insurance.

We do not ask for proof of insurance. That is something you are responsible for. What U-Haul offers is a protection plan called Safemove, not insurance. It covers any damage to the truck, covers the contents while inside the truck, and has a limited personal injury protection. Just for reference I looked up Orlando to LA and the Safemove was $140. They do offer a Super Safemove which has the addition of $1 million in liability and that would be $280. Going that far, I would at least get the Safemove. If someone hit you and damaged the truck, you would be covered. The following is what you would sign if you did not take the Safemove: 1. Credit cards and most auto insurance DO NOT cover U-Haul rentals. 2. You are responsible for ALL damage regardless of fault including windshields, tire damage, towing and storage fees and downtime (loss of use) while the vehicle is being repaired. I will immediately reimburse U-Haul for all damage and losses incurred upon return of the rental equipment and then applicable seek reimbursement from any third party's insurance company. Ok so my boyfriend has a suspended license and needs to get a hardship license. But in order to get a hardship license you need car insurance. The car insurance companies won t give him insurance because he doesn t have a license so it s a viscous cycle and he doesn t know what to do? i asked a question earlier about my friend's loser bf who has a suspended license and says he is going to buy a car from a used car dealer my friend (who is stupid) is going to get him the loan to pay for the car he says HE will pay on the loan (i doubt it) i say you need insurance for a car loan but she may just get him just a loan i dunno what that means anyway i know you need proof of insurance for a car loan he says he has been forging his insurance for years i still say they are going to check on it for the loan again i am trying to prove him wrong but can a person get car insurance with a suspended license?

I didnt change my address at the DMV when i moved out because im planning on moving back with them this summer. But i got a new car and the dealership changed my address at the DMV To my boyfriends apartment (i do live there mostly) :( so i got the sticker for my ID in the mail and im worried now that i cant be covered under my parents auto insurance if my address has changed at the DMV from their household.
