Can I Get An Oil Change In My Car If The Car Is In My Parents Name And Not Mine

My parents won't let me buy a car with my own money?

So I wanna buy a cheap car for under 10,000 dollars that I saved up but the only thing stopping me from buying the car is the permission from my parents. I really want to go buy the car but Idk and don't like going behind my parents backs to buy it. Currently there's 2 cars that are home that I can use but one my mom won't let me drive and the second is unsafe in like any weather and doesn't offer the latest safety features. And the brakes aren't as sensative as the cars I've seen. My parents won't listen to me when I say this stuff and think I'm childish fr asking about this I'm 17 and it can be in my name. My mom keeps saying I can get a car as long as it's in my name and with my money then she'll make something new up and say I can't get the car what should I do! The unsafe car is my brothers and idt he's going to bring it to college anytime soon so idk what to do! Please help!

Arizona, car insurence, title change, registration, emission testing?

I live in Phoenix Arizona. My great grandma has a car that she cannot drive anymore. My grandparents want to give me her car. The tags expired two years ago. The car has no insurance on it and the title is in my grandmas name and my great grandmas name. We are trying to get the car in my name. We cannot drive it unless we have insurance, we cannot get insurance until the title and registration have the same name on it, we cannot get current registration until it passes emission testing and we cannot get it ready for emission testing unless we can drive it.... So what do we do? We attempted to get 30 day temperary registration on it and it says we can't get it unless the car has insurance...

Can I get an oil change in my car if the car is in my parents name and not mine?

My car needs an oil change but it's in my dad's name as well as the insurance. Does he need to be there to get the oil Change or can I just take it somewhere myself?

Can my mom insure a car that will be registered under my name?

I just had this issue. In KY you can't insure a vehicle that you have no insurable interest with. So say you're the only one on the title then you're mom couldn't insure it because to an insurance company she has no insurable interest (look up the definition of that) no I'm not an insurance agent but I tried buying a truck and having it on my moms insurance because it was cheaper and my out of state dad cosigned and he wanted on the title, therefore leaving my mom off of any ownership of the vehicle so she could not insure it. Just have your mom on the title? No big deal. Just have it written as Your Name AND Moms name. Requires both your signatures when dealing with a matter such as transferring and it allows her to insure the vehicle. Different states may very but just had this same issue I described.

How can I convince my parents to let me get an original 60's VW beetle?

i wouldn't suggest on getting one unless your very mechanically inclined and know a lot about cars especially a/c vw's you will have to do work on it no matter the condition its in old cars are that way, there nothing like newer cars. you'll have to adjust valves and change oil a lot. they have no a/c or no power brakes (4 wheel drums that are not self adjusting) or power stering like a new cars do also the they are extremely unsafe if you get into any kind of a wreck. if you can afford a mechanic to work on it for you go ahead but its gonna be very expensive, so if your parents dont want you to get it there probably right. good luck

Kids in my class keep making fun of me because my dad is a car mechanic, how do I avoid that?

I think that when we’re offended by something, it's because we’re insecure or ashamed of it. This might not apply 100% to all situations but it has for most of mine.I guess there are 2 ways you can do this. The first one is know that there's nothing wrong with being a car mechanic. It seems like you're insecure of the fact that your dad is a car mechanic. Millions of people drive cars, and they WILL need a mechanic at some point. Often, more than once. So when you've learned that your father is doing an important job that many people need his service of, you won't mind the teasing from your friends. The second one is a more short-term solution. Just joke around it. Most people who tease others about something aren't do it out of malice or cruelty. They just think whatever it is they're teasing about is funny, so they wanna have a laugh out of it. Unfortunately for you, your friends are immature enough to think car mechanic is something to tease about. Pffft, wait until they have a car and have to get an oil change, then see who will be laughing as they wait in front of your father’s shop. Anyway, if they make fun of your father, just join in and crack a joke with them. It's one of those case where if you're cornered and is going to go down, take yourself down, because then you can control how and the severity of it. In this situation, if you join in on the joke, you can just say something along the line of: “haha yeah he gets dirty sometimes” and then be done with it. It's hard to make fun of someone when they're already making fun of themselves about it.If it gets any worse, either they're teasing you more or you're being affected (emotionally or in any way), just report to the counselor/teacher and/or tell your family. Hopefully it’ll work out.
