Can I Get Arrested For My Apartment Smelling Like Cat Urine

What would happen if someone was arrested for something that looked like a drug (oregano or something)?

I’m going to assume you mean Oregano or some other culinary herb.It happens quite a lot, one bag of fine white powder looks like another, there is no real way on the street you can tell what it is so people get arrested on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs and the substance gets identified later, either by chemical tests or by spectrum analysis at a lab.Fine powder (that stock favourite of Hollywood) could be;Cocaine, talc, sugar, codeine, one of the Cathinones, flour, MDMA, chalk, wallpaper paste, the ashes of a loved one (I had this once), Amphetamine, Aspirin or any combination of these. We can take an educated guess just by looking, or checking the consistency, or the smell (amphetamine smells like cat’s piss - drugs are so glamorous), but this isn’t good enough for court.Brown powder could be heroin, cannabis powder, cocoa, bulking agent, pencil graphite shavings. As for a bit of weed, we wouldn’t send this off, not economically viable, the tests cost too much, it comes down to experience and/or a bit of ID training. The smell of cannabis is quite distinctive, as is the appearance. Plus, if someone has a wad of it wrapped in clingfilm and clutched betwixt their arse cheeks, it’s unlikely to be something they just picked up at the local greengrocer (and if it is I shall be declining an invitation to dinner). The key point here is that they can be arrested on suspicion, and later in interview tell us we got it wrong, it is then down to us to demonstrate that it is a controlled drug with the necessary tests. Fear not, if it isn’t illegal, your bail will be cancelled and we move on to other things.

My apartment smells like nail polish remover?

well I called the non-emergency line and they sent the fire dept. to come and check it out and they could smell it also, but didn't know what it was from. They knocked on a few neighbors doors, but only one person answered and said she didn't smell it nor did they smell it coming from her apt. I called our apt management and they said someone wouldn't come investigate it until tomorrow because all the maintenence guys left for the day. I'll have to ask them if they were painting any of the apartments that are connected to us, but right now it's strongest in the closet and I can't really smell it too much, but we'll see tomorrow.

Why does a male cats urine smell like bug spray?

Rather than urine, hes actually marking or scenting his territory. When he is fixed, this will stop.

Cats breath smells like feces.?

A few weeks ago, it seemed that my cat had taken up the habit of farting in my lap. I laughed, because it seemed that I'd been fartimg quite a bit while she was in my lap or under the covers with me. So I figured that she had lost her inabitioms because of me.

Then last week I was watching tv with a blanket on me and the cat sleeping on my lap. The cat got up and moved off me, and I got up for a drink. As I got up I put my hand where she had been laying and felt something wet. I groaned and lifted my fingers to smell them and they smelled like feces. So I went "gross!", and figured she'd had a wet fart.

But just last nite I got a really good wiff of her breath and realized that she hadnt farted, she'd DROOLED on the blanket!

Now I'm really concerned. She hasn't changed her habits, except sometimes spending some time alone, but I'm wondering if she's got a busted intestine, or just the wrong kind of bacteria in her mouth.

Thanks for any insight you can provide!

The first floor of my apartment smells really strongly like ammonia, and I can't figure out why. Please help!?

I noticed a few days ago that the first floor of my apartment was starting to smell--it smelled like Ammonia, so at first I thought it had something to do with the litterboxes used by my three cats. Or that maybe they were peeing on the carpet somewhere. My boyfriend and I cleaned the boxes and went over the exposed carpet to see if we could find any urine spots--no luck.

It is getting worse every day. Last night it was so bad that I opened the patio door and a window downstairs (despite how cold it is). The smell went away, but today it's back again. It's so bad now that I can't be on the first floor without feeling woozy. I am having no luck even localizing it at all--the smell is so strong that it burns/numbs my sense of smell too much to figure out if it smells worse in one area or the other. The upstairs is fine, I can't smell it up here at all.

I did some searching online--I'm pretty sure it's not cat urine, we've only lived here since the beginning of August and I have a hard time believing that they could deposit enough urine in that time to be THIS toxic without it being easy for us to find. All the sinks and the toilet down there see some use. Our garbage disposal is broken ... we turned it on once and it made no noise, and there was an electrical burning smell so we haven't turned it on since. That sink tends to get plugged up fairly regularly. I also read something about ammonia cooling in old refrigerators? The refrigerator we have is a HotPoint and I don't know how old it is--it came with the apartment.

My boyfriend and I are both college students and we'll be lucky to make it to my next financial aid disbursement without resorting to eating nothing but ramen. We can't really afford a plumber or a repair bill right now.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what it might be? Or how to get rid of the smell? If it's a matter of plumbing or home repair that we could do ourselves with good guidelines and you can explain how to do it or link me to a site that explains it (or even just tell me what to search for), I would be undyingly grateful. I would like to be able to use my downstairs again, and aside from that I'm a little worried about the health risks of the fumes to my boyfriend, my cats and I.

Can anyone describe different drug smells (when smoked)?

I live in a multiple dwelling unit (18 apartments). I occasionally detect the odor of pot--but most of the time there is a distinctive "sour" or "cat urine" smell. Gawdawful amounts of air freshener are used to cover up these odors which is distressing to me as I have emphysema. I have lived here for 8 years and this has only been a problem the past 2 years or so. I am disabled and housebound so please don't suggest that I move. (Complaints to the management elicited the response "we don't run a drug rehab here!!!) Can anyone describe what the different drugs smell like when smoked? (crack, meth etc.) If someone in an adjoining unit is busted for drugs can I be implicated for knowing that drugs are being used and I have not reported it to the police?
