Can I Get Help With Choosing Names For The Sim Family And A House Vote

Does the Queen choose the UK Prime Minister?

HM the Queen invites a newly elected PM to form a Government in her name to act in the interests of the Country and the people. The PM can refuse the offer as it is of course an invitation. The Queen, if she chooses, can go against the popular vote and invite another to form a Government in her name but of course this would cause a constitutional crisis and be considered undemocratic, this is part of the reason why the Queen is supposed to remain impartial politically. As a safe guard I believe that the Queen does have the right to refuse to invite anyone to become PM in the event of election inconsistencies or as a result of major public unrest that is detrimental to the safety of the Country and the people, in this situation she can refuse to invite anyone to form a Government resulting in a redo of the election.Whilst the Queen's powers are fundamentally limited now for the sake of constitutional democracy, to assume she has no influence or power is ridiculous, she is the Head of State and has a weekly meeting with the PM, I can assure you they don't discuss knitting patterns and I would also imagine that the Queen consults the PM on issues of State, hence why these meetings are so very private.Alongside that point you must also consider that if ever there were to be a military coup in this Nation it would be the Armed Forces top brass fighting to restore the Monarchy back to power, this is because of the history that the Royal Family and the Armed Forces share, nearly all members of the Royal House have served and continue to serve whether in active or honorary roles in the Army, Air Force or Royal Navy - Prince Charles is a Field Marshall and an Honorary Admiral of the Fleet to use one example -The Military is loyal to the Crown, most top brass are Lords, Dukes or part of the Aristocracy. And people forget that the powers by which the UK Government operate are powers that belong to the Queen and are technically "on loan" from Her Majesty, though she cannot revoke this loan, the powers none the less constitutionally are hers which she allows Government to use on her behalf to best serve the Nation and the people. We don't even have a written constitution, most of the rules surrounding the Monarchy are unwritten, The Queen has enough to do without having to worry about running the political aspects of a Nation too.

Is the British Royal Family allowed to vote in the UK general election?

The Queen should be registered to vote (in local and other elections) because that is a legal obligation, and she generally likes to set a good example. Like members of the House of Lords, though, she (or the Crown) is one of the three elements of Parliament, so she is not entitled to vote in elections for members of the House of Commons. In the 1998 local elections a Labour Party canvassing team of LSE students was tasked with winning the Westminster Council ward in which lie both Buckingham Palace and Downing Street. (It’s geographically quite large, because the density of residential properties there is quite low, what with all the green spaces and government offices.) It was probably one of the more safe Conservative wards, in Britain. The Labour Party team did call at Buckingham Palace as there were several voters registered at that address, but they were told that “Her Majesty is registered at Sandringham” (one of her other residences). I believe they did record some Labour promises at that address though.(They also canvassed 10 Downing Street, and found that 3 residents there had forgotten to register to vote from that address, having moved in just after the General Election the previous year, 1997. One was the nanny…)

Why should today's politicians in the House & Senate have term limits if the people voting for them could simply vote them out?

The main argument for term limits is that it becomes rare to vote someone out—mainly because those wanting to vote them out, can’t agree on a new, heretofore unknown candidate to vote in.But the remedy for that is for the people to build their own grapevines and revive assiduously the art of door-to-door campaigning—which is rarer than you think. When was that least time anyone knocked on your door, saying, “Hi, I’m Joe McDoakes, and I’m asking for your vote for me/my friend/whoever for whatever office”? Maybe not since you dismissed the last such person and sent him behind the eight ball, just as we used to see in those wonderful Joe McDoakes short subjects. “So you want to run for office?”If you don’t like the job your present office holder is doing, then you need to open your mind and give a respectful hearing to someone new. And this means not refusing to listen just because the guy doesn’t have his name in the paper. The paper is part of the problem, too. So learn to cultivate other ways to hear about promising new candidates—or old ideas like liberty.

Does Queen Elizabeth get to vote? Is she unable to due to her constitutional position? Likewise, does her immediate family get to vote?

There is a principle that the various parts of the legislature should not influence the other parts, this is why members of the House of Lords are not allowed to vote in elections for members of the House of Commons. The Queen is also part of the legislature (albeit these days purely ceremonially) and hence she also does not vote. This also helps her maintain political neutrality.Until 1998 most of the Royal Family were members of the House of Lords, and hence the question didn't arise. After the expulsion of most of the hereditary peers (including the Royal ones) they in theory could vote, but choose not too, in order to maintain the image of neutrality.

What do Survivor jury members do while the rest of the game is played out?

The jury members are sent to a small camp named Ponderosa where they will remain until Day 39. While there, they get to reflect on their Survivor experience, discuss failed strategies, eat all of the food they want and enjoy all of the luxuries not permitted while playing Survivor such as sleeping in a bed, taking a shower, watching movies & playing video games. However, the jury members are still not informed of what is happening in the real world until Day 39. The jury members even get to go on field trips to experience the culture of the country where the season of Survivor is filmed. When its time, the jury members are transported to every Tribal Council where they get to see a glimpse of what is happening with the castaways still in the running. While at Tribal Council, the jury members are not permitted to talk except for the Final Tribal Council when they get a chance to address the finalists. They are however allowed to talk to each other while at Tribal Council but quietly so as not to influence the castaways left in the game. They usually express their feelings through facial expressions, hand gestures & laughter. The jurors also get a chance to discuss who they will vote for as the winner. After the Final Tribal Council, both the jurors and finalists get to spend the night at Ponderosa, then in the morning they get to head home. Since Survivor: Micronesia - Fans vs. Favorites, fans get to see what happens behind the scenes as the jurors are sent to Ponderosa and re-enter life in the outside world which can be seen in the CBS website and YouTube.
