Can I Get My Braces Back On

Will your gums go back to normal after you get your braces off?

I got my braces on about a year and 4 months ago. Ever since I got them on my gums receded a ton and it makes my teeth look huge and weird and more crooked then before they receded! After I get my braces off will my gums go back to normal and grow back over the spots they receded? Thanks!:D

Can I get my braces removed for a day and get them back on later?

A big No! Please have some pity on your poor Orthodontist who had put hardcore time and resources to fix tiny brackets on your teeth. There is a difference between can be done or should be done. Read and decide yourself. The longest duration sitting of orthodontic treatment is the bonding. So, removal of braces before completing your treatment shall be wastage of time and resources. Your Orthodontist has given a substantial amount of time for it. You, yourself had to keep the mouth open for long duration for fixation of brackets on your teeth.Brackets are fixed on your teeth with the help of etching and bonding. Etching removes some portion of the enamel and debonding bracket removes enamel further. This loss would become twice in your case.Removing braces shall move your teeth to the place they were original.Duration of orthodontic treatment on an average is 15 months. Premature bracket removal shall increase your treatment duration. The strength of the bond between tooth and bracket in case of rebonding is never the same.Removing braces shall cost you the same charges again. It is just starting a fresh case.I don't know it is just a hypothetical question or you actually want to get off your braces for one day. Everything should be weighted upon cost and benefit ratio. If removing is costing you more than benefits, then you may go ahead. If it is a matter of one day, I am sure you can do even with brackets.Being an Orthodontist, it is quite frustrating and heartbreaking to see even a single bracket broken by the patient. You are talking to remove all. Finally, your Orthodontist should be ready to do that.

Can I get braces for the second time?

Yes you can! I know b/c my friends who had braces didn't wear their retainers and their teeth went back to the way they started and they got braces again. Talk to you parents about it. They can check with the orthodontist to see if insurance will cover, and if not, you can either work if you have a job or you can get one if you don't to help pay depending on what your parents want to do. Your parents might even have you wait until your wisdom teeth are out and get them again after that b/c I know my parents made me wait until my wisdom teeth were out before I even got my braces and I'm 22 years old right now. I got my wisdom teeth out when I was 19. If you're really self conscious though, then definitely let your parents know. I personally think that if you wait until you're older and have your wisdom teeth out, you won't have to worry about your teeth shifting after they're out after have braces again so you don't have to get them a third time. I'm glad I waited.

Thinking about putting braces back on?

Hey guyss I'm really suggesting getting my braces put on again, and not only for the fun of it I'm fearing that my teeth will turn back the way it was since its a long time that I haven't worned my retainers. Do insurance pay for people to get braces again? Or how much does it usually cost just to get them put on aside from the monthly visits. Please no rude answers

My braces are stained, how do i get them back to normal?

pearl dropps tooth paste, get some Listerine Mouth wash, and just brush, but dont make your teeth bleed. you can buy a tooth cleaner out of tescos or the pund shops. i know they work...
otherwise your just have to wait...and if your only 15 you shouldnt be drinking at all so more fool you...

Do I need to get my braces back on? My retainer is loose?

I got my braces off in middle September. I must admit I have gotten very lazy with wearing my retainer! The bottom teeth are fine but I noticed the top retainer did start to not feel as right. I had a check up at my orthodontist and she could tell I wasn't wearing the retainer so she made adjustments and it does feel tighter. I have been wearing it 12 hours everyday like she said, by I noticed even though my bottom retainer fits well I am able to lift it up with my tongue. Also, my top retainer (the problem one) is tighter and more fit on the right side than it is on the left. I can only lift the top retainer from the left side. I can also only lift the bottom one from my left side too. The main problem is that the left side on the top doesn't feel As snug. What should I do?

Can I ask my dentist to put my braces back if I'm not satisfied with the result?

Difficult to answer if I don’t have the full facts but I’m assuming the dentist in question is your orthodontist ie he put the braces on in the first place. If that is so and he took them off I would expect him to satisfy himself with the result of his work before you ie he must have taken it off because he felt he was pleased with where you are.So this would mean usually either he was expecting too little or perhaps you were expecting too muchIt might also be a good idea to ask for your models and pictures before your brace and after so you can remind yourself wheee you are coming fromNonetheless you would normally be using a retainer to finish off the final result so maybe you should wait till your treatment is overHave a chat with him about your concerns and listen to what he thinks after all he is the expert! If you are not on the same page after that you might get a second opinion to determine if your concerns make sense or you are being too fussy.Remember every mouth is different and the fact that your friend had a perfect result and can now advertise toothpaste does not mean the same goes for you.Good luck
