Can I Get Out Of My Broadband Contract Early

How much does US cellular charge to get out of a contract early?

The normal termination fee is 150 per line. However if you have less than one year left in your contract, it goes down by about 7.50 each month from 75$. So if you have exactly one year left in your contract, the term fee would be 75$ per line. After that, it would go down by $7.50 for each month left (approximately). I am sorry you are leaving uscellular!

DODO BROADBAND CANCELLATION?!?!?

On January 13th 2013, I entered a 24 month contract with Dodo over the phone for their ADSL2+ broadband (bundled with home phone) for approx. $49.90/month. After several frustrating days of talking to numerous people about the delivery service for our modem, we finally got a hold of it and connected to the internet.
Over the past few days the coverage has been downright AWFUL! My iPhone WiFi goes out and goes back and goes out. I cannot access Youtube on it now either. My computer's internet, which was previously very fast, has become so laggy that I have to wait up to a minute for the page to load, and many more for a 20min YT clip to buffer.
As I entered the contract over the phone (though not through telemarketing), I was wondering if it was possible to use the 10 day cooling off period. If not, is there ANY way in which I can cancel the contract without any early termination fees?! PLEASE HELP! I am DESPERATE to get away from this awful company!
THANK YOU!

What is the best way to get out of a broadband contract with minimal charges?

Qualification: I am not a lawyer and this answer does not constitute legal advice! To provide any meaningful response I would need to know the circumstances of the contract that you are in. If you could provide more information I could be more specific. However:Most residential US broadband contracts that have a specific term will allow you to get out of the contract by paying an early termination fee. Often, that fee depends on how long you’ve had the contract already. My advice would be to call the provider and ask them what the early termination requirements are. If you are canceling because of any hardship, you might also want to mention that too.

I am unable to get a BSNL broadband connection. They keep telling me (since two years) that, cables aren't available so it's not feasible. How can I get the connection? It is the only available thing in my area.

Try this, visit Page on 212.70.157 and raise a complaint there. In the Grievance Nature choose BB-Non provision of broadband and wait for their reply. If nothing goes well raise a complaint in pgportal.Page on gov.in it is the last resource for you. Choose Department of Telecommunications and raise a complaint.

My contract will end this coming of June 06, '09. How to write end contract letter to my company?

It depends on your original contract with the company. If the original contract stated that the term would be complete 06/09 (without additional prior notification), then you don't need an "end contract letter". If the original contract did stipulate that you need to formally terminate the contract (else the term renews, etc.) you can simply write a short letter that references the original agreement and state that the term ends on 06/09.

What will happen if I don't pay my Airtel broadband bill?

Well, first of all you must pay the bill if you have used their connection. If you have any greviance write to them, take the fight to social media and keep of pusuing the matter. If you do not pay the bill you are most like to end up at Lok Adalat. You can wait for it and present your case there too. However, I don't think the judge will allow you not to pay the bill, he may ask Airtel to extend you the consession of late fee or something but you will definitely have to pay the late fee. If you really want to fight it out you can pursue the case at the District consumer forum. The case will run for 2-3 years but you will most likely succeed if your case is genuine.

Is BT infinity the fastest broadband in the UK?

No.It is the fastest that is available to most homes (because it’s the fastest you can get over a phone line and most homes have a phone line), but really quite slow by comparison to any other operator, and the further you are from the cabinet, the lower the speeds. So Infinity (based on VDSL technology) can notionally supply 72Mb/s, but depending on the length of phone line between you and the cabinet could be anywhere between 72 and 10Mb/s.If you live in a town or city, there’s a good chance you can get Virgin over coax cable (not your phone line). Virgin’s top product will get you past 300Mb/s (using the DOCSIS3.0 technology). If you live in a “fibre town” where somewhere like CityFibre or Gigaclear have started rolling out fibre optic broadband, or in the bits of Cumbria where B4RN operate, then you can expect up to Gigabit (1000Mb/s) services, which will give you ~900Mb/s in real-world usage. Importantly, that’s a synchronous speed - so gigabit upload and download - not async like Virgin or BT Infinity where you get 300/20 or 75/20.The distinction with those operators is their “Fibre Optic Broadband is actual Fibre-to-the-Premises. Fibre comes from their cabinet all the way to your router. Whether you’re a hundred metres or five kilometres away, it makes no odds.By contrast, BT Infinity “Fibre” or Virgin’s “Voom” Fibre is not really fibre broadband. The fibre only goes as far as the street cabinet, and then they use the phone line or coaxial cable the rest of the way. The electric signal attenuates much faster over copper, so being 1km from an “Infinity” cabinet will reduce your speeds to <10Mb/s, whereas with genuine fibre, you can run (in principle) hundreds of km - you just use beefier transceiver modules.
