Can I Give My Bird Parrot Kfc

What does parrot taste like?

You're a horrible, horrible person.
You're annoying me actually, I might whack you in the oven, but I wouldn't eat you of course, I wouldn't want any unknown or discusting diseases.

Can I give my bird (parrot) kfc?

Actually, it can be very healthy. The diet of a bird in captivity is already completely screwed up, and sometimes adding some cooked poultry can be a very good thing. But don't give him that greasy stuff! If your grill go ahead and let him chew on a bone or two, but try to keep the grease down and don't give him much and don't do it often.

What foods can't an amazon parrot eat?

I agree with bird man on the "table food" a bite or two of what we eat is OK and the birds love it. They feel like they are part of the human flock. I never feed avocados, chocolate, I take the pits out of cherries before I give them to her. Use your best judgment and when in doubt DON"T feed it to your bird.
I put her perch by our dining table. When we eat, Echo gets to eat a few bites with us and, she gets to spend time with the family out of her cage.

Bird product: ecotrition vita sol? is it good or bad? any opinions?

so i decided to change and add a few things to my jendaya sun conures cage. when i was at pet co/ pet smart, my dad is like buy this, its vitamins for the birds water. i was reluctant. it was my money, and i usually dont buy vitamins for my bird because i believe in health through food. i started adding it to his water today, and i dont want him to get health problems. he had been healthy for like 7 years and i want him to live at least another 13 or more years since the species lives 20+ years.
the point is, do you know if this product is good? i would like an explanation along with the answer so i know on if i should continue use of not.

also, does anyone know of and online product that sells ONLY dried fruit and nuts mixed together for birds? i have enough seeds but i have another food bowl for him that i really want to put ONLY dried fruit and nut mixes. hopefully nothing more than 5 pounds or else it may go bad

Is Canola Oil Bad for Birds?

Its not bad but should not be given in large amounts or boiled/burnt. If you burn any type of oil the fumes could be very damaging to a birds lungs.

Is soda bad for birds organs? Can it kill them?

The thing about feeding birds rice and it making them explode is a myth. I'm not kidding, look it up. http://www.birds.cornell.edu/schoolyard/all_about_birds/feeding_birds/feeding_myths.html

You should not give your birds any soda AT ALL. Firstly, caffeine (if present) is toxic to them. It contains too much sugar, and parrots do not have the ability to burp. Because of that, anything carbonated can cause them discomfort and cause a lot of other complications.

If you "didn't need any other help" you would have known this. Soda, carbonated beverages, and caffeine are all present on the list of items parrots should never have. While you may know what you're doing for the most part, that's something you should definitely look up. You should make yourself familiar with this list. I'm not saying it to be mean or condescending, I'm saying it to be honest. Make yourself familiar with that list.

In the future when you have a question like this, it's a better idea to call your avian vet to ask for advice than it is to post a question on Yahoo Answers. Then you know you're getting your answer from a professional.

EDIT:

There's no avian vet in my town, either. I have to drive over 45 minutes away to see my avian vet. There are some people who have to cross state lines to get to their avian vets because normal vets will not see exotics, and birds are exotics. It's frustrating I know, but it must be done. If the avian vet in the next town over is the closest one to you, then congrats- you've found your avian vet, and be glad it's only ONE town over!

It's good that you tried to contact a vet first, though. And I didn't think you were inexperienced with bird care completely because the potentially abused Amazons are getting close to you. That speaks volumes. Nor would I tell you to get rid of a bird and get a different kind- getting rid of a parrot is rarely the best answer and so hard on the parrot!

I doubt that your Amazon tried to attack the can- by the way. I doubt anyone threw one at her if she got close to it at all. I'm guessing she saw you drinking out of it and decided she wanted some. ^_^ That's how most of my parrots decide they want something is if they see me eating/drinking it.

If I feed chicken meat to a bird, will it make it a cannibal?

“Cannibalism” is a moral classification that applies to no animal species on earth except homo sapiens sapiens. I don’t want to disturb your sensibilities, but animals haven’t any morals. They certainly have ingrained behaviors - generally adaptive, but they have no share in our sins and taboos. Animals have sex with animals (sometimes outside their species!) and it isn’t bestiality; they have sex with siblings and even littermates, parents, offspring - it isn’t incest.Never mind the fact that plenty of birds of prey prey upon chickens, and other such easy-pickings domesticated fowl.Yes, yes, all ye semanticians and definitionists, we humans do use the word “cannibal” to refer to an animal that eats its own kind. My point is: that says a lot about us. It says nothing whatsoever about the animal. The animal’s not a cannibal except to us. It’s not even a chicken except to us.It’s an immediate environment and a set of drives, come together in a knot of brain with pauses for perplexity and other responses as indicated, to whatever presents itself. It’s more or less a universe, like you are, like I am - just viewed through a differently-shaped and -sized lens.Hm. That last paragraph. It’s debatable; almost aggressively, disagreeably spiritual. I’m keeping it under protest.
