I think eating only once a day is not going to solve Your problem, but on the other hand it will increase them because you are not eating a well balanced diet. If you really want to loose some weight and not gain it back join a gym. Workout at least four days a week, the instructor can show you some specific exercise with which you can tone your stomach muscles and you will loose fat and gain muscle. And make sure you eat proper meals otherwise you are going to get so many deficiencies in your body. So nourish your body well and workout, you'll get great results in the end and will be glad that you followed the correct way to loose weight.

I am not sure if this will quite bring you down five pant sizes, because everyone's bodies react differently to different diets and workouts. So this would be MY advice to you.
Diet: I would go on a strictly healthy diet. Do not starve yourself, you will trick your body's survival mechanisms into thinking you are unable to find food and in order to protect itself it will save as much fat as possible in order to reserve energy. Eat foods of all food groups; fruit (but not too much, there is natural sugar and calories that will build up and work against you. Try to find "superfoods" and eat those for a small breakfast or as a side during lunch. You do not want more than a cup of any fruit high in calories), Vegetables (If you are not too keen on them, try mixing them in a salad WITHOUT DRESSING OR CROUTONS. this could make a meal worse than a meal from mcdonalds. & avoid any caesar salads. You may also steam vegetables without butter or fattening dressing.), Meat/ Protein (GRILL CHICKEN, make sure there is absolutely NO grease or fat on the grilled strips. If you are a vegetarian, eat low cal high protein beans & nuts), & Whole wheat bread. Also, avoid three large meals a day and try to eat five much smaller meals throughout the day and limit your snacking to carrots and celery (a piece of celery is negative one calories!)
Workout: Don't beat yourself to exhaustion. Make a routine that works for you. If you want to burn calories, the best thing to do would to set yourself a timer at fifteen minutes and jog around a course (outdoors or indoors, no difference) at your own pace. Then adjust the time to your "limit" and try to jog for that time, increasing a little each time. Sit-ups are not the easiest way to a slimer waist, they target only a small portion of your body. Try to do all around workouts each day (ex: 10 sit-ups, 10 row-boats, 10 side abdominals, 10 push-ups ect.) I want to drop 3 pant sizes, help!?

I am on a diet and exercising a bit, just not sure how many pounds would be about right to lose for the size 5? I am thinking between 10 or 15? sound about right?

How many inches do you lose per pant size?

When I was an 18, they were 42 inches around the hips. I am an now an 8, and now my hips are 37 inches. That's 5 inches. 5 pants sizes. I would say an inch.

How can i drop 5 pants sizes in less than 3 months?

I don't know if you can lose that many pant sizes in just 3 months however, I have been struggling with weight loss myself and i just recently started doing these exercises called intense interval workout for example, i go to the gym 5-7 days a week and on the treadmill I do 20 mins of intense interval workouts: 30 seconds of running at 7 miles an hour then 30 seconds of 2 miles an hour then 30 seconds of 7 miles an hour and then back to 2....do this for 20 mins a day. BELIEVE me, I have been doing this for 5 days now and I have dropped 3 pounds so far

After doing so much research i found out that doing high intesity workout for 20 mins a day like the one described above burns more calories than 60 minutes of jogging (i know this because i used to spend 1 hour at the gym before i started interval workouts) so maybe try that out and see how it works out. if you're losing 2-3 lbs a week that's 8-12 a month, you will be at your goal pant size in no time :) also, check out this website, it's where I learned about the interval workout and diet plans ect.... althoug I have to say I don't do any 'diet' plans cause i eat 1500-1700 calories a day including a LITTLE bit of junk food, just make sure to drink PLENTY of water :) hope this helped

How many pounds do you have to lose to drop a pant size?

That depends on your height as well. If you compare someone 5 ft 5 losing 30 lbs and someone 6 ft 2 losing 30 lbs...your're going to notice a bigger weight loss on the shorter person...so that person will change sizes faster than a taller person. Everybody is different. You'll need to play it by ear. Also...beware of one thing...the scale may say you lost XX amount of weight...but your body will change to reflect that loss at a slower rate than the scale will. Your body, given time will catch up though. This affects sizes changing too. We're all different...so to guess for you personally isn't possible.
