Can I Go To Job Corps While In High School

Do i get GED , JOB CORPS OR HIGH SCHOOL?

The Jr. College in our area offers classes to prepare you for the GED. Check with your college, they probably have something similar. After you pass the GED you can take classes at the Jr. College and transfer to a four year college from there. You won't have to do all two years to transfer. My daughter took the GED and transferred to a four year after only one year at the Jr. College.
You can't go back to regular high school at 19 but most cities offer high school classes at night school, so you could work while you finish .
If you feel like you could pass the GED with just a little brush up on your skills I would go that way, but if you feel you are pretty weak in your skills maybe nigh school would be better
Good luck and if you don't give up you will succeed.

Can i go to job corps with a High school diploma?

I would like to know if i could attend a job corps with a diploma/ after i graduate high school. I basically want to get a trade in facility management, possibly an electrician.

Can I go to Job Corps just to get my high school diploma?

I was thinking about going but im not so sure. I just want to get my diploma since im not doing so good in school right now. Im not trying to find a career or anything. Is it a good idea? HELP!

How long will it take me to get my high school diploma in Job Corps?

It depends on a few things (I got mine while at job corps). 1. How many credits do you currently have, 2. How much work you actually do (self paced), and 3. If you have high school all day or only part of the day. Because it's self paced it's possible to get all of your credits and graduate in a matter of months (I graduated in 5 months, didn't have many credits when I entered) but I was constantly on my work because wanted to move on to my vocation. There were people in my class that had been in the class way before me and didn't graduate until after me just because they only did one or two assignments a class or even a week. It really just depends on you.

My mom wants me to quit school and goto job corps?

I'm 18 already going Into the 11th grade... Mom wants me to goto job corps instead where ican get a certified in welding or computer technology whatever I want to do... She says you can get your high school diploma there but idk if it's a good idea.
Do they accept job corp people into the air force?

17 year old at Job Corps???

I've currently been in Job Corps for a month, and it very well could be a good call for you, depending on how many credits you need for a High School Diploma, and how serious you are about the commitment to the program. The acceptance is 16-24, so being 17 wouldn't really do you any harm. Yes, they do get the trainees High School Diplomas, but typically, they do it if said trainee is a handful of credits from completion, I doubt a whole year's worth would be doable. Instead, they would get you a GED. However, don't be discouraged by this, as the training you would be provided with is top notch with no nonsense. Also, they love to send trainees to college after graduating the program, so in that regard it's a great idea. Just be aware, consider your options, and if you do decide to go to Job Corps don't take it for granted and do your best!

Job corps !!!!!!!!!!!!?

At Job Corps they will have different trades that you can learn. Also if a person does not have their High School diploma they will help you earn your GED while at Job Corps

The Job Corps I went to also had Driver's Ed. and helped you get your drivers license.

Different Job Corps have different trades, so check out the one you plan on going to. Before WV. had a pretty good Job Corps, I went to the Pittsburgh PA. Job Corps.

You also get a small allowance while you are there, the longer you are there, the more money you get. It wasn't much back in 1975-'76. LOL

They also were able to get you new eye glasses if you needed them.
They give you cloths to train in, so you don't ruin yours, a place to sleep and study, after training each day, the evening is yours, they do usually have a certain time you need to be in bed. (For safety reasons) When I was in Job Corps, it was males only, so we had an open bay type of living area. I believe most have dorm type rooms now days.

The nice thing about Job Corps is after you finish your training, they will get you into your first job, it seems that Job Corps has good connections with many places to place their student into with jobs.

I learned welding and Job Corps got myself and some others a Job at Brownsville PA. welding and building river barges.

They also gave us a few hundred dollars to help us get our first apartment and some groceries to help us out. This money also added up depending on how long you were in Job Corps.

For 22 years, I have volunteered my time working with divorced/single fathers dealing in family law issues, such as child support, teaching them about what the states are not telling support obligors.
