Can I Have Pastel Pink Hair With Orange / Brown Hair

Will pink dye work on (already dyed) orange hair?

You would have to bleach your hair to light blond or all most platinum in order for bright or pastel colours to show up on it. If you want your hair to be bright pink, then you're hair colour as of now isn't light enough. Ion dyes don't stick very well to darker hair colours. If you want to go pink then maybe try colourista for dark hair, or arctic fox hair dyes but you won't get a hot pink or pastel pink if your hair is that colour in the pic.
I know for a fact (I've used Ion before) that Ion dyes don't stick that well to dark hair colours. My hair isn't brown but it's not light enough for some of their colours to stick to it. They're also very thick constancy so you would have to mix it with a bit of white conditioner so you can apply it evenly.

My hair is pretty yellow and I want to go pink. Should I tone or or just go straight to the pink dye?

It really, truly is going to depend on the shade of pink, the quality of the dye and the quality of the processing/application.I know many insist that hair has to be the palest, whitest blonde possible to be dyed any fashion color, but that isn’t always true. And this weird “add toner before dyeing” trend is a bit disturbing and can alter how well your hair takes or reacts to the dye you apply after. Though I guess it is to be expected in the age of YouTube tutorial “gurus”.I’ve done deep, dark, and bright pinks over yellow, orange, faded red or purple hair. But I also used quality, highly pigmented fashion dyes and the proper processing for my hair’s health with a proper application.Pastel pink will require paler hair, hot magenta won’t.There really isn’t enough information in this question to give a better answer.

My Red hair faded to an ugly Pastel Orange/Pink color, can I dye Brown over it?

I dyed my hair a Bright Red about a month ago. I left it alone, 'cause my hair was pretty damaged from all of the bleaching I had done. After a month, my hair has strengthened up a lot, and is getting back on track to where it needs to be. Well, with all of my deep conditionings, and treatments I've done, the Red only lasted about a week - tops. It has faded to a very Pastel Orange/Pink color. It's much lighter in some areas, than others. It almost looks like I made it this color on purpose, haha. But, I'm kind of tired of it. People compliment me, saying they enjoy the 'wild' colors, but I'm ready to go back to Brown. My roots are already growing in (they've grown in almost 2 inches since the dying of Red). They are coming in a dark Brown.

A lot of people said Brown won't take over Pastel Orange, but I have a friend who does hair quite often (if she lived by me still, I'd have her do mine!) but she told me that a Brown/Dark Brown color should take over just fine. She said I could even use a Brown with an Ash in it, to tone down the Orange..but, the Orange has already faded to a Pastel, so it wouldn't be that bad. She said as the Brown started fading, the Orange might show through, but I'd just retouch it with Brown when that would happen. I'm trying to let my Natural grow back through, which is a Brown color.

But, I guess my question is, could I put a Brown over this ugly Orange Pastel color? I really do NOT want to get my hair bleached again. I've had it bleached twice, and after a month, it's just now starting to lose some of the 'gummy' feeling, but it's still very weak, and breaks off. I'm currently going through protein treatments, and what-not. So, bleaching is not an option anymore. Is there any remedies to at least fade the color more?

I'd just like suggestions. Thanks!

Will pink toner dye work on brown hair without bleaching?

I was thinking about Directions Pastel Pink toner.
My hair is very light brown, kind of latte coffee color. (About my profile pic, it's a wig)
I'm gonna experiment, if it does not work I'll bleach my hair but I was wondering if it's necessary, since it ruins hair so much.
When I was little I had orange and green highlights made with toners, it didn't look too awesome but the colour was visible.
What do you think?

What color does pink fade to when you dye your hair pink?

Oh hey, whaddaya know? I’ve got some pictures of my hair right here. Here’s what it looked like when it was first dyed.So now that we’ve got it as a reference point, let’s see how it faded, hm?Several weeks after dying it. It’s already starting to go orange. And this is how it looks, taken just yesterday (almost a month after dying it). My hair still is distinctly pink, but it’s getting some really cool orange highlights to it, and I expect them to get more prominent the longer I let the dye fade.I’m going to miss it when I go back to brown, but pink’s just too much work to keep looking good when my hair grows so fast.
