If you do the unspeakable and pirate games, don't play them online, and you have to do some things in the settings to make it so Nintendo can't tell you've homebrewed your system. Yes, you can. Actually, when you plug a DS cartridge in, your 3ds system will “switch” to DS mode, so you can use R4, R4i, Dstwo and so on.
Can the current Nintendo 3ds read ambino cards?
Firstly, it's "amiibo" Secondly, it's unknown since amiibo cards haven't been released yet, so at the current moment, it's pointless to have that knowledge, but if I were to guess, I would guess "yes" because they're supposed to function in the same ways regular amiibos do aside from being cards instead of figurines

Can I sell my NNID along with my 3DS XL?
Your NNID contains SENSITIVE PERSONAL INFORMATION (like your name, gender, location (Country / Zip code), birthdate & purchase history) in addition to access to other Nintendo services & consoles like the Wii U & Miiverse... & now "My Nintendo" as well as Miitomo can be linked to your NNID. Generally when you reset your 3DS to factory settings, it'll remove your NNID as well as all your savegame data & digital library (which the DRM keys are still retained on your NNID). The new owner will likely want to use their own NNID (that their either already made or will set up) so they can utilize related Nintendo services... so I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Just make sure that you don't consider your NNID & your digital assets in your selling price because that can be removed from the system remotely.
