Can I Join The Usmc With My Medical Conditions

Can you join the military if you have asthma, specifically the USMC?

It depends on the severity of your asthma. If you can run for 100/200/300M obviously you will be gassed, but can you sustain your breathing reasonably or no? Will you be able to operate without access to an inhaler or no?If you are in a firefight and start breaking down and need to control your breathing instead of training down range it’s a definite no unless you get back to an operational capacity FAST.Anything to an extent can be waived, except cancer unless you’ve been in remission for a VERY long time and have a positive prognosis. If you can prove you are able to fight and not hinder our ability for mission success, doc has the final say to waive it in your physical, and then it’s up to whomever to accept the waiver and let you in or not.

USMC medical waiver, kidney stone condition?

I am trying to enlist into the marines. I just got disqualified by MEPS because 8 years ago I had 4 kidney stones. The kidney stones were not caused by repetitive causes. I was premature at birth so my kidney wasn't fully developed, aka it wasn't opened up. So because of urine and bacteria built up in there it caused 4 kidney stones. I had all stones removed that year and now I have both kidneys and they function perfectly. I have not had a single problem since then and I am physically able to perform at the Marine Corps standards. I would like to know what are the chances of me being able to still enlist? Thank You

Can I join the military with a minor heart condition?

I've wanted to join the military for a while now, I'm 13, so I have a few years. But the only thing that would hold me back is a minor heart condition. I have a VERY mild form of long QT syndrome and am on meds, but I have never had a problem. I was diagnosed shortly after my brother, which is how they found it. I can run and do physical things just fine with no problems, but my question is, can I join the military with a mild heart condition such as this? The only thing slowing me down/getting in the way is my meds. Thanks!

Medical waiver to join the marine corps was denied when can i reapply?

today i found out my medical waiver to join the marine corps was denied, i am 100% i was wondering in a certain amount of time goes by will i be able to reapply? this is what i wanted to do my whole life, and got disqualified for something that doesn't affect me at all, and took 6 months for them to tell me i was denied. also they shredded my birth certificate and HS diploma because they had it to long which is some more BS,,. how do i get new ones?

US Marine question...what medical problems does the MEPS office say that you can't join the Marine Corps? help

I have dislocated knee caps on both of my knee's they lock and give away alot. I have a few other medical problems such as acid refulx disease, hypoglycemia (a form a diabetes), i had both my ankle's break last year so they are a little iffy at times, my hip pops in and out, bad eye sight (i'm piont 1.5 away from being legally night blind, and i have a slight heart murmur. That is it. Would these keep me out of the marine corps?

Oh I live in Ohio does anyone know where the closest MEPS office is in the Akron/Canton area?

Can you join the military having had cosmetic surgery?

I have a girlfriend who had breast implants and wants to join the military, it's not a preexisting condition, not medical, just something she wanted.
This also goes for other cosmetic procedures, liposuction, tummy tuck, bow-lift etc. If it's cosmetic, not a preexisting medical condition, you can have tattoos, why not plastic surgery?
Does anyone know if you should not disclose the information about plastic surgery to guarantee getting in (i.e. my friend doesn't tell them about her surgeries and hopes her boobs don't pop) or if you should bring it in the open and let your examining doctor know?
I know plenty of people who have serious mental and physical issues, go off their medications "hide" their conditions, lie to the recruiter and doctor and then pretend that they all of a sudden developed a psychological or physical disorder for which they are treated by the branch they joined, how does this work with cosmetic surgery, should I tell my friend to sweep it under the rug and as I said hope she doesn't have a pop, I mean in theory, she could have them done during a long enough leave, she's not a child needing permission from the government to have her breasts done or liposuction etc.
I have had laser hair removal, as well as laser tattoo and scar removal, what about that? What if I want a Brazilian Butt lift (I too am joining, a different branch, she's going Navy.) Do I have to tell them I had a butt lift prior to joining, I mean if I survive with no issues there are no preexisting conditions, right?
Thanks

If I have eczema, will I be disqualified from joining the military?

Yes, Current or history of atopic dermatitis or eczema after the 9th birthday is disqualifying and I have linked the Navy's Manual of Medicine chapter on medical qualifications below. All branches have similar medical requirements in this regard. The above paragraph being stated this is usually an extremely easy waiver to get so don't lie to the doctor.According to the current Naval guidelines(the Navy actually tends to be the strictest branch medically since they operate in the most isolated environments): Psoriasis, eczema, recurrent rashes, or atopic dermatitis that may be worsened by the work environment to the extent that function is impaired or unacceptable risk of secondary infection is incurred are disqualifying. In laymen's terms this means that if it can be controlled with basic over the counter measures without causing an infection (which is the vast majority of patients) you should be fine.Check chapter 15 of the link below.http://www.med.navy.mil/directiv...
