I have found a newborn baby of bat, how do I keep him alive?

STOP HANDLING THE ANIMAL.Look up wild animal rescue centers near you. Call them.Really seriously all your efforts could just kill the baby bat. Only professionals know how to rehab/save wild animals.

Should newborn babies be kept warm?

Yes, newborn babies need to be kept warm.  They have spent the last nine months in a 98 degree (Fahrenheit) environment, and aren't really able to regulate their own body temperature when they are born.  It would be a shock to their bodies to be in a 65 degree room without any bundling or other protection, so, yes, they do need to be wrapped up and kept warm.  The general rule that the nurses at the hospital gave me when my children were born was that I should dress my babies the way I would dress, plus one additional layer.  So if it's a warm day and I'm wearing light clothing, then I would dress baby the same, but add one extra item like a jacket or blanket for a little more warmth/protection.  If it's a cold day and I'm wearing 3 layers, then I would dress baby in 4 layers.  Another thing I learned is that keeping baby close to your own body heat (either by holding them or using a sling/baby carrier) is a great way to help them stay warm and it also keeps them quite happy to be near you.  If your baby is too cold, or too hot, they will likely let you know about their discomfort by crying...so listen to your baby, and observe their appearance (paleish and/or blue = too cold, etc.) and behavior to judge if anything about their environment needs to be adapted or changed.  If you're a new parent, this question would be a great one to ask your pediatrician at your next baby checkup!  Write a list of questions so you don't forget any when you are at your next visit.  Good luck!  :)

How do I keep a newborn baby kitten alive if it has no mother? What should I do?

The mother probably won’t come back if it’s been a whole day. She may have been hurt, or gotten lost, or not realized she had another kitten to move. Sometimes moms abandon kittens that are sick or have congenital defects.Newborn kittens need three things:WarmthFoodPotty carePutting the kitten in a warm box with just blankets won’t be enough. You have to actually keep the kitten warm. For now, put it inside your shirt, next to your skin; that’s the easiest and quickest way. I had a friend who kept a newborn kitten inside her bra, seriously. Prepare a hot water bottle for the kitten to snuggle up with; you can also use a rice heater. Make sure it’s not too hot. Kittens this age can’t keep their own body temperature up, and need a heat source; yours is most likely chilled.Your kitten can’t drink cow’s milk; it’s hard on its digestive system and it can’t get the nutrition it needs from cow’s milk. It needs kitten formula, the sort you would get from a vet or a pet store. You need a bottle with a small nipple. The kitten probably will not eat until it’s properly warm. You can put a bit of sugar water in its mouth to give it a bit of energy and get its appetite going; don’t actually feed it sugar water, just put a little on the kitten’s gums and hope the sugar helps it get the energy to suck. They need to be fed OFTEN; yes, you’re going to lose sleep.Your kitten also can’t go to the bathroom on its own. At this age, Mom stimulates it to go by licking its bum. You can do this, after feedings, by wiping its bum with a damp cotton ball or soft washcloth. If you cannot get your kitten fed within an hour, put it in your shirt again and get it to a veterinarian. At this age, kittens go downhill fast, and a vet is probably its only hope.If you have done everything you could do, and you lose the kitten anyway, remember this: Kittens are fragile; even experienced foster parents lose them sometimes. What you did still made a difference, because you gave that kitten a soft, warm, caring place; without you, it would have spent its last day somewhere cold and alone. You made sure that didn’t happen.Further information and specifics on times and amounts to feed:How to Raise Orphan KittensWhat to Do (and NOT Do) If You Find a Newborn Kitten

Keeping Newborn Germ-Free?

I am due at the end of June, and I just know that we'll have a lot of family and friends who will want to hold and kiss the new baby. How do I keep my baby from getting sick? I don't want to forbid anyone from holding her, but at the same time, I don't want a sick newborn on my hands!!

My Newborn can't keep her milk down, what can I do?

Could be any number of things to be honest. If she keeps throwing up it could be the formula, or she could have reflux. Either way she probably needs a medical review. Your child health nurse (whatever they’re called where you live) can check her growth and get a good picture of what is happening with her before you go to the doctor’s and share that information with the doctor. The constipation is most likely related to the formula too. A change in formula may be necessary. If not, giving her some water (small amounts only) between bottles may help, as can water with brown sugar when particularly bad. Try to avoid medication for constipation if you can. It can create more problems than it solves.I think resolving the vomiting is the first thing you should be looking at.

Should I keep my newborn baby up during the day so he will sleep through the night?

Absolutely not! You might do irreparable harm to your newborn! The average newborn sleeps an average of 18 hours out of a 24 hour cycle and this is necessarary for their mental and physical growth. Their bodies and their brains grow at an astronomical rate at this stage in their lives and it is while they are sleeping that the majority of this growth occurs. Most newborns have a wake/sleep cycle of 3 to 4 hours in the beginning. They wake so that they can eat and nourish their bodies and may stay awake for any where from a half hour to an hour and then fall asleep again for 3 to 4 hours. This is normal. As their bodies and brains develop, the awake time increases and their sleep time decreases. You need to wait until your infant is much older before you try sleep management. I know it's exhausting for new parents. Your sleep is interrupted and your always tired. At this stage, everything revolves around your new baby. Just try to relax and go with the flow. This time with your baby only lasts a short time and before you know it, he/she will be sleeping through the night.

How to i keep my newborn from freaking out and is it normal?

well at that age you really can't put them on a schedule, like you said it will backfire if you try. haha. I did the same thing, my baby is now 3 months old, we thought we had her on a schedule, sleeping till 7 , no she was up at 2 am. It is normal for them to freak out, They are very demanding, some babies just have an even more demanding personalitly, My husband is demanding, not really in a bad way, but I see my little girl is like that too. When she wants fed she wants fed, she doesnt want to wait. They change all the time, Just hold baby and soothe her untill the bottle is ready, but unforntunatly there isnt away to change that. Good luck

How do I prevent the hiccups of a newborn baby?

I doubt you can prevent them. But if they occur, hold baby upright to prevent reflux and attempt to calm baby by stroking back gently. At that age the brain is still getting the hang of controlling the body, so a spasming diaphragm seems like a glitch that will disappear.I wonder if it is a hungry baby that drinks a lot and gets the hiccups as a result. All that being said, if the symptom persists, the baby won't settle, has breathing problems, isn't digesting, appears weak, or in any way concerns you, take it to see a doctor.
