Can I Loose Fat Running A Mile Mon - Fri And Swimming Every Sat-sun

If I make a habit of running 2 km every day and eat in moderation, how will my body look?

Assuming that you're not superhuman/athlete, you'll probably be running for about 12-15 minutes to cover 2kms. I'm no expert, but I run regularly.. it takes my body about 10-15 minutes to correctly warm up so that I can start my real run. So I'm thinking you probably won't become slimmer by just doing that. When I started running, I could not run 2kms continuously. Hell, even running a kilometer was difficult and I used to keep eyeing my cellphone so that I could stop running as soon as my GPS hit the 1.0km mark. Here are some tips to get you started out:Start out by walking for 30 minutes or so (for a week)From the next week onwards try to run for a minute and slow down for 2-3 minutes and run again. Do this for about 30 minutes. Don't forget to warm up and cool down for 10 minutes (just walking). You iterate Step 2 with increasing run times till you can run for about 15 minutes continuously and rest 4-5 minutes in between. Try to run like this for about an hour.(Sorry for the iteration pun, I'm a programmer..)Here are some things to keep in mind:Keep varying your workout.. surprise your body by varying your tempo. Don't let the body get adjusted to the routine.Drastically cut your junk food intake. It really is not doing you any good.Don't even think about cigarettes. Tobacco and running is more dangerous than you not running and smoking regularly. Most importantly, don't procrastinate.. Start tomorrow. Yes, period.I actually love running because it makes me happy, but I'm not ashamed to admit that even I started out to burn fat and fit into my jeans again. I hope even you will come to enjoy running as much as I do.

How much weight will I lose doing CROSS COUNTRY?

I want to try cross country again. Last year I tried out for the team and broke my ankle the second day of TRYOUTS hahaha.
so like, I'm doing cc this year and I wanted to know how much weight I will lose this season?
Its 3 miles. Practice is Mon.-Friday after school.
I am 5'7''. and lets just say my BMI is a little over 20lbs.
If I add in weight training how much more results will I get??
and also I would like some cc advice (((:
thanks y'all so much

I've been jogging 5 miles a day 5 times a week for the last 2 months. Why are my jeans tighter? No weight loss.

I don't actually know exactly your situation and your routine but here are some things that came in my mind:1. Body Endurance: May be you are doing "too much" workout that your body can actually do. I would suggest, if you're after achieving some body shape, then cut down your cardio (which is running in your case) to 3 times a week and replace rest of the days with some weight trainings.2. Hydration: May be you're not very well hydrated before/during/after your workout. Try to take like any fruit before your workout and during running, try HIIT by incorporating water drinking intervals for lets say 20 secs. I would suggest after your workout, take some protein smoothie. If you're not very well hydrated then your body starts to retain water which can cause body to swell.3. Weight gain: You didn't mention the area where you have gained weight. If you have gained weight in your butt area then it means your body is transforming to its best shape (which also can make your jeans tight) but if its in your thighs/ leg area then I think you should check your posture (same is true for your abs). For abs, there could be so many reasons, like bloating, poor digestion, cortisols (stress hormones which can cause belly to swell), junk or processed food (too much consumption of sodium which causes water retention) etc.4. Diet: As mentioned by others you should check your diet.Good luck!

What will happen if I run for 1 hour every day for 2 weeks?

There are some good answers here, and others not so much. The bottomline is that you will lose weight, if you watch your diet. I’ve lost more than 10 lbs so far by running an hour every single day, and after one and a half months it actually seems really easy to do so. I started off going slowly on purpose at 5.3 mph so as not to injure myself, and now I can easily run at a 6 mph pace; 7 mph with effort if I wanted to.Whatever you do, the key is to start at a maintainable pace, and then STICK to your running week by week. The pant sizes will drop no matter what, I guarantee you. Also, try to get it done first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach. You'll have much more energy throughout the day, and it will become habitual to get it over with when you first wake up. If you have space, ideally I would invest in a treadmill at home to cut commuting times to the gym. I'm not a fan of running outside because of weather unpredictability and the inconvenience of carrying water around, so a treadmill with a nice fan would make your running experience much more fun and routine, in my opinion. Best of luck to you.

Is it possible to lose about 100 pounds in 8 months with good diet and excercise?

Here is what you need to do if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Lose weight) and you will have more energry.

If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads) in one and protein (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have any or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross country skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension) (YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. So your body doesnt go into starvation mode, YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF.

If you stick with this you will have a great body. also drink a least 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonalds, Wendys, etc because there is nothing good for you on the menus - even the salads are bad (bacon bits, cheese, dressing, etc)

Good Luck :)

How much weight can you lose in 28 days by walking 30 minutes daily?

HEY!First things first, losing weight depends on two main factors :1.How many calories you burn (Physical Activity) :The thumb rule is for every 1 minute you walk you burn approx 6-7 calories. So if you just walk for 30 mins you will be burning close to 200 calories per day.For 28 days, you would be burning 5600 calories. Now for every 7000 extra calories you burn you lose 1kg.So you would be losing less than a kg weight just by this exercise. So I would advise you to check option two.2.How many calories you eat (Diet :Calorie intake):This involves intaking less calories in the first place. You can go on a calorie deficit 1000-1500 diet. Assuming your BMR = 1900 calories, if you follow this you will be burning more than 900 calories extra per day and in 28 days you will be burning close to 25000 calories, which will result in weight loss of 3.6kg!!The choice is all yours :)I hope that helps.

I want to lose 50 pounds by the end of summer. Does anybody know a good diet plan?

Dieting sucks. Changing eating habits works. A few tips that have worked for me:
1. Eat slowly. It takes up to 20 minutes for your brain to register that your tummy is full. If you eat slowly you'll give your brain more time to tell you what your stomach really needs.
2. Eat fresh. Load up on vegetables and cut down your meat. The fiber will make you feel fuller longer, too. Dress up your veggies with shedded cheese, roasted nuts, stuff like that. Eat out seldom. Their portions are huge and not healthy. As much as you can, fix your own food and avoid pre-packaged meals.
3. Drink a lot of water. It aids in digestion and keeps you feeling fuller, longer. Especially drink a glass of water about 1/2 hr. before dinner. You'll feel like eating less.
4. Eat a lot of soup. This will get you vegetables and water, fill you up, and it will do it with very few calories. They can be very easy to make, too.
5. Don't deny yourself things you really like. Denying yourself of one thing entirely will drive you nuts until you lose control and binge. Instead, allow yourself some of your favorite foods regularly, and portion them out. For example, my husband has a problem with ice cream. His habit is to sit in front of the TV with a pint of Ben and Jerry's and a spoon. Without even thinking, he can polish the whole thing off. It's better to portion it out in advance, enjoy a reasonable about, and stop when your plate is clean.
6. Walk whenever you can. Walking burns just as many calories per mile as running (running just gets it done faster) and is a lot easier and less sweaty to do. A 150 lb person burns about 120 cal/mile. You'll burn more or less, depending on your weight.
7. DO NOT drink your calories. That means not only soda, but fruit juice and coffee drinks, as well. They have HUGE amounts of calories and they don't satisfy you like a meal. Avoid Jamba Juice like the plague. Snapple is your enemy. And if you really need a latte, please don't get any of those syrup shots.

Remember- 1 lb of fat = 3500 calories. You could run an entire marathon and only lose a single pound! Don't expect it to be fast or easy. It's hard to lose weight, and only people who've never tried to lose don't believe that. Any diet that claims to make you lose weight faster is unrealistic and unsustainable. Numbers don't lie. But if you take my advice it'll come off nice and steady, absolutely. Good luck!
