Can I Move Back Into My Apartment After Breaking My Lease Its Only Been 1 Day.

Can I break apartment lease without penalties if the apt makes me sick?

I want to write a letter and bring it to the office explaining what happened. Few days after I moved in my apartment in August, I started feeling sick. It was odd, because I normally don't get sick except for colds. Few weeks later, I realized that I was still sick and it wasn't getting better. I noticed that I felt a lot better when I went on a vacation or go outside.

Firefighters came in one day in November because someone reported a strong gas odor. They eventually found it was my stove that had a gas leak. They also found a message on the back of stove saying that the stove has a gas leak. Checked online for gas leak symptoms and found out that I've been having these symptoms.

I am wondering if I am able to break the lease without any penalties because the apartment is making me sick and the gas leak was there before I moved in? I don't have any evidence that I was being sick, but I did sent a maintenance order in to the office in August saying that something in the apartment is making me sick. Any suggestions? Anything would be helpful! Thanks.

Can I Move out of my Apartment 2 Weeks before lease ends? What is a Holdover?

So, it's been a rough month. I lived at the apartment complex for over 1 and half years, always paid rent within a day early and no later that 7 days. I always paid the late fee as well.

I have had problems with neighbors which i believe was resolved.

So this is how it goes, my family is in turmoil as one died a week ago and then my father gets diagnosed with cancer only 5 days ago.

My lease ends Oct 31st. I know its required to give 30 day notice to vacate but with family i totally spaced it. I did pay full rent on Sept 28. I also got a renewal letter the same day but of course family comes first so i flew out the following day.

I came back to a letter on the door saying that i have to Nov 9 to vacate or i will be holding over. Overall i read the lease and i think the landlord will tell me/kick me out. Ok whatever, life goes on, i'll move which i already will be doing.

So question is, i paid the full rent, and sent a letter to my landlord saying he can keep all my security deposit etc to cover utilities, damages etc. Of course i sent this and today happened to be his day off.

So i'll find out that response to that tomorrow. So my lease ends Oct 31, rent is all paid up until 31st, I plan to move out Oct 8 and turnover keys the following day so i can concentrate on family as soon as i can.

Overall i want to make this as smooth as a transition for my landlord and me. I figure if i move out early, he will have the extra rent and security deposit which i'm happy to give him a full 25 days after i leave without asking for a refund of any kind (i just want to go with no problems or noise later). I know i did space the 30 day notice but i'm only 4 days late on notifying my intent to leave.

Whats your advice on this situation?

Can I break my lease after being here for 9 days?

so I currently reside in Florida in an apartment. Since its a college town the apartments aren't that expensive. So the reason I need to break my lease is because after I moved in we discovered some mold and a leaking roof. The complex said that the buildings were "renovated". The minor issues they were quick to fix but I still have problems with the roof and the mold. Then fast forward 2 days later I look at my lease and it says the state of Michigan not florida. My mother and I also called the state of florida and said the complex does not have a license to operate nor does it have any records of contracting or renovating. We believe now that they failed the initial inspection and ran out of money so they're getting people in to get the money to fix everything. I would be requesting a Full refund from the leasing office or I will get the law involved. I'm worried about them not giving me my money back so I can find a new place for my dog and I to reside.

I have been in my apartment for 9 days today and want to move out!?

Hello,

I moved into the Ivy Hill Park Apartments in Newark NJ and am disgusted with both the conditions and the leasing office. I wanted to know that since I have only been living here for 8 days on my lease if I could break it and move out. I don't know New Jersey's laws. This is my first time here in New Jersey. Is there a way to break my lease and there be no penalties. Will I get my deposit back?

I have very young children and I have seen roaches, rats and ants. There is no air conditioner and we are living on the 15th floor. The apartment (which appears to be a 2 bedroom made into a 3 bedroom) is extremely small and has holes in so many areas of the apartment. There are so many issues and I have addressed them with the director of the place but he has only verbally stated to me that he will accommodate me for the installation and the purchase of an air conditioner plus take $500 off of my rent. Now I have not gotten that in writing and quite frankly do not believe him but the thing is I do not want to stay here to make sure it happens. I just want to leave. I want to take my babies and go move into another place.

Is it possible to move out before 30 days of your lease here in Newark NJ?

Can I break my lease if there were bedbugs the first day I moved in? I reported it.

A2AWell, you have a problem here.Bedbugs are avid travelers. They read the bedbug equivalent of the Zagat guide, and the bedbug equivalent of Rough Guide, etc..And you… are now the bedbug Travelocity. The problem is that, unless your personal items are treated, everywhere you go: there will now be bedbugs. There’s some question whether you brought the bedbugs with you — it generally takes some time for them to gestate and hatch — or they were in the last load in the truck/moving van/UHaul trailer you used to move — or if they were there waiting for you to arrive as their next Waiters On Wheels snack attack. If you give “bedbugs” as the reason for leaving your last place … you’re not renting from me for 3–6 months, if then.Assuming they were there when you moved in (unlikely, if they attacked immediately), your best option is to get the landlord to take care of the problem. This not only de-infests the apartment, it — more importantly — de-infests you and your belongings. For a two bedroom apartment, a professional exterminator using Vikane™ Gas or a similar pesticide can generally clear an infestation for about $700. If the landlord pays for this, you’re golden.Personal note:I don’t care if you are my sibling: if you currently have bedbugs, you are not staying at my place until you can find another place.I really do not want to tent my house.

Can I break a 12-month lease that I have signed but have not moved into yet, and can I get my deposit back?

There is no lease until you have actually taken possession of the premises. Until then it’s just a contract, albeit an enforceable one. That means the landlord cannot enforce the lease in “Landlord/Tenant” court, which is an expedited (and less costly) legal process. To get out of a lease before you move in, present yourself as a “problem tenant” by whatever means you can. Landlords don’t want problem tenants and will go out of their way to avoid them. For example, tell the landlord you’re hypersensitive to noise and other annoyances. Or tell them you have bipolar disorder and may need special accommodations for a psychological disability. You get the idea.If you do it right, the landlord will be the one asking to break the lease and you will be the one accommodating the landlord’s request. If you’re really good, you’ll not only get your deposit back, but the landlord might even offer a payment if you agree to terminate the lease and not move in.But you didn’t hear this from me.

My apartment has termites in the wall. In Texas can I use that to break my lease?

We just moved here about 2 months ago, and after a slightly horrific few nights, we have found out the wall in our bedroom has termites. The apartment complex was notified twice, first when I noticed them one night, I called the emergency maintenance, no one called back, and second a few days later when I went to the office in person. The guy I spoke to was supposed to have someone come reseal the cracks in the seal of the window, but no one ever came. 2 days later the pest control guy came at my request and said it was termites. Now the complex is sending an actual termite company to fix the problem tomorrow. On another topic, my boyfriends job is relocating him any day now, and they aren't paying for relocation fees. We still have 4 months left on our lease, so we're going to end up breaking the lease and paying the re-letting fees which will amount to a few thousand bucks. In Texas, complexes don't have to let you out of your lease if your jobs relocates you. SO, now this termite thing has come up, and Im wondering if its possible to use it to get out of our lease. Does anyone know what the treatment is for termites? How long does it take? I know poison isn't good for anyone to be around, but how will whatever the treatment is affect my family? I have a 3 year old and a dog. Any serious advice would be helpful. Ive tried researching these things myself but I cant get a clear answer. Thanks!
