Yes. Your legal name is NOT ALWAYS the same as your married name. The bank will allow you to keep your maiden name on your bank account if you have a valid birth certificate and another form of ID with your maiden name on it. The only way your married name becomes your legal name is if you go through a legal name change and alter the name on your birth certificate.
