Well I have similar configuration I have Intel i3 8 gigs of ram and Intel HD 5500and I played GTA 5 at 30 fps on low with shadows disabled and i Played gta 4 with shadows disabled pretty good and i played games like sleeping dogs, dragon ball xenoverse , Prototype 2, Mafia II (at medium 720P ),Resident evil 5, counter strike global offensive on medium high and counter strike source, Call of duty modern warfare 2 and black ops, Call of Juarez blood in bound, and they all ran pretty well. And i had i3 and you have i5 these games will run more smoothly on your system.See gameplay on - Mad-Tech-TutorEDIT : Far cry 3(low medium 30+ fps), Devil may cry 5( on high or ultra 30+ fps), Dragon ball xenoverse 2 on low all runs perfectly. :D

Practice. And note, if you tap the trigger button instead of holding it down it will reduce your recoil rate but your fire rate will obviously go down, it will also help with accuracy. MW2 has an automatic "lock-on", if you notice that sometimes your cursor will follow someone if they run past you, that's because the game has a TINY auto lock-on, once you start shooting though it will of course go off-course. If you play the game long enough you will learn how to keep the cursor on your target. Try using a gun with more accuracy such as the FAMAS or M16, they are 3 round bursts but it doesn't take much to kill.

Im assuming you're talking about the macbook retina 2012. Now the 15″ has a gtx card inside which is the one I have. I use bootcamp to use windows on my macbook to play games. I’ve played COD BO3 online on the macbook and it was really choppy. Pretty much unplayable. And that was at the lowest graphic settings. I mostly use my macbook to play games like rocket league or pacman championship or small games like that on about medium graphic settings. Keep in mind this is with the 15″The 13″ does not have the gtx graphics card so there will be alot less compatibility with games.
Awesome at Black Ops 2 but suck at mw2?
One thing you have to know about COD is that the gameplay experience varies between the two major developers of COD (Treyarch and InfinityWard). What I mean by this is that depending on who develops the game hit detection may be better or worse, kill rate may be faster or longer, bullet damage is increased or decreased by very very tiny increments that can make a large difference when playing (for example, in mw2 you may get 4 to 6 hit markers at medium range in mw2, but when playing blops2 you may only get 3 to 4 before a kill), however this problem is mostly prevalent in COD games including and predating blops1 because dev's used to use similar but different game code, and as a result, the gameplay is completely different. Another huge factor in your struggle is that as you begin to play older and older CODs, you will notice more of a skill gap (i.e. the skill gap separated the men from the boys in multiplayer in terms of how good they were). The newer CODs, beginning with blops1, have tried to decrease the skill gap by creating "OP" perks and guns, and networking changes such as lag compensation ect. As per your configuration u can play :far cry 3, primal, GTA V, IV , bioshock infinite, tomb raider 2013, sleeping dogs, saint's row 3,4 watch dogs 1, NFS run, shift 2, carbon, mw 12 , Asseto Corsa, cod mw2,3 , ghosts, bo2,3,. Battlefield 3,4. And many more games.U might not be able to get all the games running at 30fps. But lowering the graphics settings will definitely do the trick.
