Put some hair dye in your shampoo... what?
This depends on the hair dye. If you're using a chemical dye (adding one bottle to another) that's not going to work. If you're using a veggie based dye (manic panic, sfx, etc that don't need anything to activate it) then it might help. Chemical dyes have a lifespan of about an hour because you mix the two together and they react with eachother until they're all used up. Then the dye stops working. Veggie dyes are a single bottle dye that STAINS your hair without needing to be mixed with an agent. Now about putting this in your shampoo (veggie dyes ONLY, this shampoo idea is NOT for chemical dyes) is alright because it'll redeposit some of the colour but in the end you could be wasting dye. Best thing to do when dyeing with veggie dyes is to apply heat while dyeing your hair and then washing in the coldest water you can stand because hot/warm water open the hair up and lets the dye out faster. That goes for all dyes, so wash with the coldest water you can stand. Also condition your hair to not be washed as much. You really shouldn't have to wash your hair more than 2-4 times a week. Now I'm not saying don't wash yourself, but your hair doesn't need to be washed so often. If your hair is ~sooo~ greasy after a day it's because your hair isn't used to it. In the meantime rub some baby powder into the greasy hair to absorb the grease. Your hair dye will last longer if you don't wash it as much. And lastly red hair is the HARDEST colour to keep because red fades the fastest. If you follow my steps you should be able to prolong the life of your red hair.
How do you mix hair dye with shampoo?
You don’t ever want to mix hair dye with shampoo. The shampoo will dilute the dye so much that it won’t adhere to your hair at all. All it will do is turn your shampoo the colour of the dye, most of it will rinse out immediately. If any dye does manage to penetrate the hair shaft it will probably wash out within 3 shampoos.In turn, the cleansing abilities of the shampoo will be diluted by the hair dye.This combination would be a waste of money.
Can I put Splat hair dye in my shampoo?
I dyed my hair red with Vidal Sassoon. (Medium Vibrant Red) Now it's starting to fade. If I added the red splat to my shampoo (or whatever that trick is) would it bring back more color? I really don't want to re dye it. Does this question even make sense? Haha sorry.. but please help!

What would happen if I put hair dye in my sister's shampoo?
(Outside of her getting really angry) You see, she has twice now used my hairbrush when dying hair- hers and her friend's- and she used social security money that's supposed to be going to me so I can eat and having things I need (from my dad's passing) to buy the hairdye, and then got hairdye all over my hairbrush and in the bristles so now the handle is sticky and if I use it I'm pretty sure I'll get three shades darker- dark brown hair dye plus blonde hair, not a good mix. She's done other stuff, too, and I'm getting tired of it, so what would happen if I put blue hair dye in her shampoo? Or if that seems a little too extreme, what else could I do?
Will purple shampoo help to fade red hair?
It can tone it down a little bit. Please don't use anything harsh on it like dishwashing liquid or harsh shampoos. These can fade your color but will really dry your hair out. Go ahead and try the purple shampoo, but if you go to a hairstylist they can put a toner on it to help correct the color.
When dying hair, do you use shampoo to wash when you're done?
Yes, hair dye works best on dirty hair because it clings to your hair instead of kind of slipping off like it does when it's clean and smooth. When you wash out the hair dye, do NOT use your normal shampoo. When the box says to "lather well" they mean to rub your head (like as if you were shampooing) as you rinse the product out. You do this until the water runs clear, and right after use the conditioner the dye came with. After dying, your hair will be smooth, as if it were clean. The dye kind of gets rid of all the dirty stuff in your hair. The next time you take a shower (make sure it's at least 24 hours afterwards!) you can use your normal shampoo and conditioner again. Some boxes say to use the conditioner that came with the dye weekly, or every couple of days, so substitute this like it was your normal conditioner accordingly.
