I had highlights put in my medium brown hair and it is too bronze! Can I make my higlights more brown?
Thanks for the quick responses. It's just a bit too gold and I wondered if that "blue" shampoo might help. My salon is always a mad house so I'm sure I won't be able to get in for awhile. What about a color depositing shampoo like artec? Otherwise I think I'll wait a few weeks and try herbal essences? Any thoughts? THANKS!

Lemon juice won't turn your hair red unless you have a lot of red in yoru hair. If it's dark brown, without red highlights, lemon juice and sunlight will lighten it. There are home products you can buy at the drugstore to lighten your hair if you want to do it yourself.

Is this dark brown natural,or dyed? If it is color treated hair You can't,really. Color will not lift color. If you don't have the patience to wait for it to fade gradually,you could try to remove a little intensity by shampooing with Dawn. This will lift the cuticle to help some color leach out. Possibly. Be sure to condition well after this. Your best bet is to see a professional colorist as this is iffy. There are mild bleaching procedures that can be performed in salon,and a new color may need to be applied to achieve your desired result.

There is a really affordable product called "sun in" and it's basically just a spray that you put on your hair when you go outside during the summer, or during any sunny days. I did this last summer and achieved a pretty light color. It won't be COMPLETELY blonde, but you can get there.I also suggest getting highlights. If you get highlights multiple times for about a year, you will reach the blonde you want. You can even get highlights and add Sun-In to it for that extra blonde. Hope I helped!

This happened to me and I was not happy with my hair at all. My friend suggested I go see her hairdresser and it was the best thing I could have done. She put highlights in it that took away the "darkness" of the overall look. I would have never thought it would look as good as it did, but she definitely knew what she was doing. Skip the washing your hair 100 times--go get some highlights and the contrast will look great!
Wanting to darken/richer up my medium brown hair?
Your hair will always naturally get lighter. From being out in the sun and so on. My hair does the same thing. I'm always dying my hair darker because the sun lightens it alot in the summer. But if you want a richer tone then I'd go to a salon (Box color is designed for an all over color...not muti-tonal color regardless of what the box says lol) She'll dye it the base color first (like a dark chocolate brown or which ever color you'd like) then add highlights a few shades lighter (not blonde but a few shades lighter then the brown color you chose) to give it dimension and a richer color. She shouldn't need to use a toner unless your natural color is red-ish. Toner is typically used for lightening to get a color that compliments your skin tone. Have her put the highlights on only the top half of your hair to give a more natural look (the top is the only part of your hair that gets any sun so naturally the under layers are going to remain darker) this will still give you that darker color that you want but the subtle highlights will give you a deeper richer color without it looking dull and flat like only one color would do.
