Can I Put My Drawf Gourami With My Opalinegourami

Do Opaline Gourami and Goldfish get along well in tank together?

No.

Goldfish are best paired with only other goldfish.
Fantail goldfish are better paired with Fantail (or fancy tailed goldfish) then with single tailed goldfish because fantails swim a lot slower and wont always get to the food fast enough.

Gouramis can be somewhat aggressive, so they would most likely nip their fins off anyway... and because goldfish produce such high levels of amonnia (goldfish produce ammonia through their gills, and because gold fish lack a stomach they are constantly producing waste which also increases the levels) it cold potentially be fatal to your gourami (or any other tropical fishes.

Can a Opaline Gourami stay in my 10 gal tank?

It will outgrow a 10-gallon tank. You need at least a 30-gallon tnak for opaline gouramis, and a 55-gallon or bigger tank is best.

Opaline Gouramis and Female bettas?

Minimum tank size for these guys is 20-gallons. You could house two in a 20-gallon, but only two females, or a male/female pair. Two males will fight.
Female Bettas as tank-mates with Gouramis would be risky, but can be done. It would be best to house them in a lightly stocked, heavily planted tank with lots of caves and hiding places. I would only suggest housing them with 2 females or a single male Gourami, as they may become innocent victims of the male's aggression, should your Gouramis spawn. I would suggest a back-up tank in case you end up with a bully.
uneven numbers of female Bettas helps avoid hierarchy/bully issues. It is also best to add them to your aquarium at the same time, or, if that's not possible, be sure to rearrange the "furniture" before adding any new Betta girls.

Good luck.

What other fish can live with an opaline gourami in a 6 gallon tank?

I agree with Ainsley, six gallons is pretty small to add more fish. You could upgrade your tank to a minimum of 30 gallons if space or budget permits. If not, you could help your opaline gourami feel more at home by adding some plants to your tank. Floating duckweed and a stem of java fern would look good, provide security, and absorb nitrates from your tank contributing to the overall health of your fish.

How many gouramis can I put in a 30 gallon tank?

well male gouramis will kill each other and crayfish will kill anything and everything in the tank.
So i would put 1 male gourami and if you want a few females but they dont sell those at petsmart/petco usually and they are less colorful anyway.
I recommend you add a school (3-6) cory catfish, they do good at cleaning and are fun to watch. If you have plants for the fish to eat add a otto cat clean up algae. You want to have 3 levels of fish, top middle and bottom dwellers. For the top add some guppies/mollies/platies they come in a huge variety of colors and patterns. Add a school of tetras like neons bleeding hearts or skirt tetras(they last forever)
Some other colorful ones would be rainbow fish but they get big and expensive so be careful. If you want something different in your tank add some kuhli loaches they look like snakes but hide alot, or some african dwarf frogs, they are cute but the tank cant be too tall because they bvreath air. Add some ghost shrimp they are cool and clean, or some cherry shrimp which are bright red but they dont sell them at petsmart.

Could I put a Dwarf Gourami in a 30 gallon?

Yes, but if it is the only fish in the tank it will look very empty.

Is my golden gourami healthy?

Pretty fish, are there any tank mates? It's probably hiding because, instinctively it “thinks” that if it comes out into the open area a predator might get it. I had a species of danio that always hid in the plants except when food was offered. They spawned and the juveniles did not “know” to be afraid of the open water, so they were always out and about. Your fish might be afraid of being netted again or something.

How much do Gouramis cost?

I have a Cardinal tetra, Black Phantom tetra, Buenos Aires tetra, and a Glo-lite tetra. I am searching for inexpensive colorful fish that can live with them. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Can I put a betta fish with gourami fish together?

I have been told that they are in the same family, and therefore can work if (perhaps extreme) precautions are taken. For instance, female Betta’s are less aggressive, and for that matter- female fish in general. So, it would be best if the Betta is female and the Gourami could probably be either, but a female may be more accepting.I would also put up a tank divider at first, so that you can monitor how they react and let them get used to each other being in the same tank. Also, it is imperative that you provide plenty of space (10 gallon minimum!) and plenty of hiding spaces or plants, rocks, etc… Betta’s love to rest on the big leaves of a plant!I am not super familiar with Gourami’s specifically, because I have never kept them. But I do know Betta’s are territorial and this is why it is super important to provide room and privacy, so to speak. The Betta is likely to “claim” one side of the tank, and they will be less stressed if they can be on one side without seeing the other fish- at least part of the time. Also, Betta’s don’t like a lot of water flow through the tank but for the sake of circulation to prevent stagnation and soothe through repetitive, constant sound/movement,… I would be sure to get an air pump and place a couple air stones in there. This also will provide a bit of cover, to make the 2 sides of the tank less visible. Just be sure the air pump isn’t too strong, or get a valve in which you can adjust the air pressure coming out because the Betta is kind of a wuss with current and will easily get blown all over the place if it is too strong.Maybe put a few Nerite snails in there too, just to add more life and distract from oppositional tank mates. Mystery snails are much cooler and more colorful but they have long antennae and my male Betta would nip at those in the past!Good luck!!!
