Can I Put One Pair Of Contacts Together In One Side Of The Container

Getting Contacts For the First Time?

Contacts are great and easy to wear. If you look up when putting them in you dont see your finger about to poke your eye so you dont have the temptaion to blink. Always rinse the contacts thoughly make theres some dust thats causing you to blink. I use both middle fingers to open the eye. One one on the top one on the bottom lid. and i use my pointer finger to put the lens in. You get use to pokeing you eye. Always keep a pair of glasses to use when your now wearing the contacts or when you just feel lazy and dont want to put your contacts on.

Can i order the one box of contacts since my eyes r the same prescription?

There is no " left" and " right" in contacts. Unless there are 2 different prescriptions.

If they are the same power in both eyes, it doesn't matter which eye you put them in.

Being the same power, you don't need a box for each eye...they will just last longer if you have 6 pairs instead of 3 pairs.

1 box of those is only good for 6 weeks...2 boxes are good for 3 months.

If you feel a strain in one eye, then there may be something wrong with the prescription, and both eyes shouldn't be the same afterall...tell your Dr. about it before ordering more. They may have to change the power a bit in one eye.

What happens if you put two contacts in one eye?

I once had a patient come in complaining about poor vision in her new contact lenses. Using biomicroscopy, I saw she had two lenses in one eye, none in the other. I removed the top one and placed it on her other cornea - and voila, she saw perfectly again. Other than her embarrassment, there was no damage or ocular sequelae to speak of. Had she kept the two in one eye for days on end, there might have been some hypoxia and, depending on the oxygen permeability of the lenses in question, possible ulcerative keratitis. Yes, you can even lose an eye if you wear your contacts too long. But two contacts in one eye short term - no big deal.

What are the health concerns in reusing daily contact lenses?

I have been reusing daily wear contact lenses - or ‘single use’ contact lenses as they’re also called - for 10 years now. I wear each one until they literally break on me.Some people on this page may think I’m typing this out through a thick foggy veil of cataracts but my eyesight is better than most people's - whilst I’m wearing them of course. In fact my prescription hasn’t changed since I first wore them 10 years ago, at -2.25 in each eye; fortunately. I was recommended to reuse dailys by a friend and it’s saved me so much money especially through sites like daysoft. I spend more money on lens solution and stay away from cheap especially own-brand lens cleaners, make sure to buy a good high-end cleaner one that provides long-lasting moisture. These solutions always come with little plastic contact caddies to use and soak them over night and away you go.Try and have a day or two off the lenses a week so your eyes don’t get sore or weary. My only warning about lens use is to try your utmost to not fall asleep in them, that’s wear the damage happens. I’ve been drunk before and fallen asleep in them, and woken to very dry eyes and blurred vision that does subside but it’s a really bad idea and your eyes will hate you for it. On one occasion I scratched my cornea from sleeping and pipette dropping iodine on to my eyeball to disinfect the wound was one of the most painful experiences I’ve yet to endure. That’s my negligence to blame not the use of daily disposable lenses, which are disposable but not ‘single-use’ x

If i don't have solution, can i put contacts in a bowl and fill it with water overnight?

I wouldn't take them out. Just for TONIGHT, no longer, you should sleep in them.

water will dry your contacts out. You won't be about to put them in your eyes in to morning. You should just keep them on for tonight and take them out the next time you go to sleep.

What are the sides of wearing a contact lens more than the prescribed time limit?

I assume you mean using, for example, biweekly contacts for say 3 or 4 or more weeks. The biggest thing would be hygiene. Are you storing and cleaning and rinsing the contacts properly? Is your routine enough to prevent contamination in the eye? Shit builds up man. The longer you use them, the better and more thoroughly you must clean them. If your routine is good, for the most part, your contacts will be okay. As long as you're over using within reason. Don't try to milk monthly contacts for half a year. The second biggest thing would be the water content in the actual lens itself. Contacts contain a lot of water. They have to be like this to adhere to your eye and spin properly (if toric). They also need to have enough water to not irritate or even hurt your eyes. The longer your contacts were made to be worn for, the more water they contain. As you use them, every day wear and tear will dry them out. Yeah, sure you soak em in cleaning solution every night. It may be okay if you're over using within reason but don't expect your biweekly contacts to feel brand new after 6 weeks of use.The third thing would be physical condition of the lens. You probably slide them along the side of their container to get them out. You play with them on your (possibly unwashed) palm to orientate them properly. You pinch them and shit to get them out at the end of the day. You rub your eyes. You get debris that floats in and shit on the daily. Every day wear and tear will take it's toll on the physical condition of your lenses. This may be in the form of scratches or tiny bumps and dents. All of these things may cause the vision correction to deteriorate. And, of course, could harm your eye.All in all, lots of shit could go wrong with over using contacts. But I feel that if you're smart enough about it and do it within reason, you'll be okay. Personally, I'd wager that the supposed time limit on contacts is used more as a marketing tool than as an actual instruction. I'd say it's more of a suggestion. Hell, give it a shot. Make sure you clean them properly but definitely try to stretch them and see how you feel. Please keep me updated. Am curious. I wear dailies so I have no clue what happens lel.

Why when I put in my contacts, my eyes burn and I feel a stabbing pain in my left eye. What could be wrong?

I have well over 50 pair of Colored Contacts, it sound like to me that you maybe extra sensitive to the solution you store it in, also you may get the pain because of build up on the lens, you can buy lenses cleaner that come with a special container that you place them in and leave for about 6 hours. Then regardless what the instruction do not put them in your eye before washing them with normal contact solution, most say you can use them right out of the container after it cleans, but it sounds like you have the same problem I have, the only Solution I can use is BIO True and Renu for sensitive eyes, bu the BIO is MUCH BETTER, does not burn or sting at all, and does not make your eyes all blood shot. Hope this helps. Also I am sure you can call any optometrist and they will tell you what they think, may I ask your age? I know Glaucoma can cause pain like that...it also could be a thyroid condition...Do you feel pressure in your eyes?? If so call your Primary or your eye Doc. But try the solution. first....Hope it helps..are they prescription or 0.00 power?

Why do my eyes burn and itch whenever I take my contacts out?

What type of lenses are you wearing? If it's a monthly disposable lenses, what solution do you use?

Burning sensation, irritation of the eye upon removal of lenses can be caused by few reasons. One of them might be due to the lens solution. If you are not using any lens solution, then it might be due to lens tearing.

It is advisable to remove your lenses everyday without fail, as wearing lenses to sleep can cause other cornea complications such as lack of oxygen and edema.

And always remember to wash your hands and dry it with hard tissue before removing your lenses.

Add on:
Hmmm, since it's frequency lenses, then the type of solution used to store the lenses is?? Maybe you should try another type of solution.

Can you wear expired contact lenses if you disinfect them in solution before wearing them?

Yes, I do this now. I am using my expired contact lens for 2 years now although it lasted for 6 months only. The secret to use expired lenses is to find a really good solution. I have tried many solutions but there's only one that I swear by. It is called the AOSEPT solution. What makes the solution effective is because it cleans your contact lenses for 6 hours before it can be used again. If you are in the rush, please don't use it before 6 hours because it will burn your eyes like CRAZY!!! That's how effective it is!! Try this! I recommended to most of my friends and they never had an irritation anymore. Also, always remember that before using ANY NEW CONTACT LENS from the package… NEVERRRR put it straight to your eyes. You may not know the contamination it may suffer from the packaging. So always use the solution clean them for 6 hours before using it.
