Can I Send A Package Through The Us Post Office To The Uk

How much would it cost to send a package from the US to England?

Sorry, that's kind of vague! The post office goes by weight and size. If you can get the weight of your package, you can go to http://www.usps.com and get the price it would be for your package. I've paid up to about $20 to send a medium-ish package there, but my idea of medium and your idea of medium may be totally different!

Send a package through the post office?

Im sending a present (about 5 lbs) from Ct to Wisconsin.
1. How much would it generally cost if I'm sending it on regular time (no over night)
2. Can I wrap it in wrapping paper, or will i have to re-wrap it with the brown paper?
3. can I just write the address and return address on the package?

I'm sorry if these are really stupid questions, but I'm only 14 and I'm sending it to a friend w/o the help of my parents.

can you just explain the process?

Why did the USPS send my package to the UK when it's supposed to go to India?

The USPS doesn’t send packages or mail on every plane or ship. Packages will usually go by boat, unless they sent air mail. The dispatchers at the International Exchange Offices will try to send the packages by the fastest, not necessarily the most direct route that would bypass all other ports and go directly to India. Many times, the in-transit offices will scan the mail before sending it on; fifty years ago, you would never have known about the in-transit office, just merely when it was delivered.

How long does the post office store undelivered packages?

Once you receive a notice that your package could not be delivered then you have 15 days before it is returned. Express packages are returned in 5 days. You will receive another notice in a few days but if you are expecting a package & you don’t want it to be returned because you are going out of town then put your mail on hold. We can hold your mail up to 30 days.

Can i mail soda in a package from the US to England?

No. Only the passenget portion of planes are pressurized. The cargo area of passenger planes and cargo planes are not pressuriezed. With the pressure in soda it will burst and make quite a mess. Think of the same thing happening when you try to freeze a soda can or bottle.

How do I send a package from the US to Scotland?

Address is fairly straight forward............
House number + Street name
Town/City name
County name (unless it's the same as the city)
Postal Code
United Kingdom

see:
http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?catId=400044&mediaId=32700664
(UK / Scotland address look similarly laid out to the top diagram, but you write "United Kingdom" at the bottom).

You'll also need to mark the package "PAR AVION / BY AIRMAIL" in the top left hand corner, and also on the package somewhere your own "senders address".

Then you'll need to take it to your friendly local USPS for them to weigh it & price it up for you
http://www.usps.com

You'll also possibly need to fill out a CN22 customs form.... which is basically just a sticky label that goes on the package to tell the customs guys what's in there, how much it weighs & it's value + if it's a gift, etc.

Why did USPS send my package to the UK when it's supposed to go to Canada?

Did this parcel ever show up? As i Just had a parcel sent Priorty Express International from the USA to Canada that left the USA on July 1st and now says “Your item departed a transfer airport in HEATHROW, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM on July 3, 2017 at 5:58 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination.”. It’s rather confusing.

Does Amazon use FedEx or UPS to ship packages?

Amazon uses multiple carriers to ship products across the U.S. The  choice of carrier depends on various factors such as shipping location,  destination location, size of package, value of contents in the package,  promised delivery time frame, Amazon Prime vs. Free Super Saver  shipping etc.A few examples:1. Amazon Prime shipping packages are mostly shipped via UPS. In case of destinations not served by UPS, alternate carries like FedEx/DHL are used.2. If the estimated delivery date falls on a Saturday, then it is very  likely that the package will be shipped via FedEx as UPS doesn't deliver  it on Saturdays.3. Majority of the Free Super Saver shipping packages are shipped via  USPS. In case if the products is expensive or bulky then it gets shipped  via UPS.4. If the product you ordered is available in a nearby Amazon warehouse  (usually within a 40-50 mile radius), they partner with local courier  companies such as A1 Courier Services in Philadelphia and Delaware and OnTrac in California. However, amongst all logistic partners, UPS is the largest in terms of shipments handled. Here's  a complete list of carriers used by Amazon:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/cu...

Does USPS deliver mail and packages to PO Boxes?

Post office boxes are a major location for receiving mail in the United States. For some people in certain rural areas, P.O. boxes are the only option for receiving mail. For others, they are a convenient choice, perhaps because their business is located near a post office. But receiving your mail in a post office box comes with certain disadvantages, because not all mail can be delivered to a post office box.Anything sent via UPS cannot be delivered to a post office box. UPS requires a physical address. According to the UPS website, "We do not deliver to P.O. Boxes. If a shipper should use a P.O. Box address, the recipient´s telephone number must be included on the label." The phone number allows the UPS driver to telephone the recipient and arrange for a home delivery.Related Products and ServicesService Info TabLarge PackagesMany packages are just too large to fit in a post office box. In most cases, as long as the package was sent to the P.O. box address via the US Postal Service, the package will remain on the premises of that post office for the recipient to pick up in person. Generally, a slip will be placed in the recipient's box indicating that the package is being held. In some cases, the sender of a particular technological product, like an i-Pad or i-Phone, will not deliver their products to a P.O. box address.Signature RequiredWith certain legal documents and other certified mail requiring the recipient's signature, the local post office will, as with large packages, place a slip in the post office box asking the recipient to sign the proper forms at the desk during regular business hours.Time is of the EssenceAccording to the US Postal Service website, while "all" mail classes and types can be sent to a box, the recipient has a limited window -- a required number of business days -- in which to pick up the package or the package will go back to its sender. This creates problems when you are away on vacation. As the U.S. Postal Service website states, "If the item requires a signature, a notice will be left. If the second attempt is unsuccessful, the item will be returned to the sender after the required number of business days have elapsed."
