Can I Set Up An Iphone 4 With Mcdonalds Wifi

Why can't my laptop find the Mcdolalds Wifi network but my iphone can?

I have a brand new Toshiba laptop that hasn't given me any network issues until now. I want to use the internet at Mcdonalds because I don't have wifi where I'm living at the moment. My iPhone finds the Mcdonalds connection fine but my Laptop doesn't find it. Wifi is on, airplane mode is off, what is going on?? Thanks for the help in advance!

Is it safe to update my iphone at a public wifi space like mcdonalds?

my internet at home is really slow and my phone's update is about 1GB which would probably take at least 14 hours to download, quite possibly 24 hours if my internet is being sucky at that time. Would it be safe to go to mcdonalds with my laptop to update my phone? how long do you think it would take to download?

Can you get WIFI in the parking lot of Starbucks or McDonald's?

I bought a cheap tablet and I want to know if the tablet's WIFi reception is weak or normal. I get a poor signal in the parking lot of Starbucks and McDonald's and it won't connect to it.

At McDonald's I have to sit close to the cash register to get WIFI. I sit further away in the children's play area that is separated by a glass partition, and I get a poor signal and can't connect.

Does the tablet have a weak WIFI card or is the signal weak?

Why is McDonald's WiFi so slow?

Imagine all those folks that know they can come in and refresh their email on the slow Wi-Fi while they clog their arteries. GOOD FOR BUSINESS!Now imagine all those people on the fast Wi-FI sucking down free refills on soda and taking up a table for hours watching Netflix. BAD FOR BUSINESS!McDs did not get as big as they are by being stupid! I’ll bet you 10 free Happy Meals the internet speed is intentional!

Do I need to have internet in my iphone?

No, you don't. See, wherever you go, even if it's a Mcdonalds, you have designated Wifi already set on your computer and iPhone. I use to use "linksys". These are unsecured networks, hence meaning you're more susceptible to viruses. PLUS+ Just because you have an iPhone, doesn't mean you need to have your computer internet from them! My father purchased "Time Warner" Cable and WiFi, and I just hooked that up to my iPhone even though I registered my plan with AT&T. Technology is amazing, isn't it? Have fun with your new iPhone, I have only had mine for a month and I am pretty much addicted ;) It has everything you need, it also makes the computer seem ancient :)

Why won't my iPhone 5s connect to certain wifi?

My iPhone 5s has always connected to wifi networks. McDonalds, Sheetz, my home wifi, school wifi....but for some reason, it will not connect to the wifi at my parent's house. This wifi service is the only one that has a password. Does that have anything to do with it? I will type in the correct password, but it tells me that I am unable to join the network. Why is this? And how do I fix it?
Thanks!
Thanks.

Can I exchange my iPad 3 wifi for a wifi+4G one?

So I pre-ordered my 3rd generation iPad with wifi only online on the apple store. I got the wifi one only because I have wifi in my house. And I assumed wifi was pretty much everywhere I go. WRONG! Most places I go to doesn't have wifi. I mean it's fine if I go to Mcdonald's, Starbucks, etc. But everywhere else there's no free wifi. I do have an iPhone4 and I know we can always tether, but I don't know what's better....adding to my existing data plan for iPhone or just getting a separate data plan for my iPad

So after thinking and reading stuff online, I think I want to get the new iPad w/ wifi+4G with AT&T. At least with the Wifi and 4G model I can always cancel my data plan whenever without penalty.

My question is: Can I exchange my wifi iPad for a 4G one and just pay the difference?

How do I find my iPhone's IP address?

A wifi connection to your router will have one IP address, the phone’s data connection will have another IP address. Both answers are given here, but the people answering aren’t making clear (to you - which is why I’m posting this, it;s clear to me, but I have decades of experience with this) which one they’re telling you how to find. And every time you connect to a different wifi router (like McDonalds, Walmart, etc.), you’ll get a different address. Networking Tools will give you your external IP address, whatever your connection type is. (There are other sites - that’s the one I’ve always used. no particular reason, though.)(Your internal address is pretty irrelevant - that’s the address between your phone and the router - wifi or your carrier’s data connection - you’re connected to.)

Is it safer to Bit-torrent at a free hotspot, i.e. McDonald's, Starbucks, etc?

Most free hotspot locations are going to be configured to block torrent and peer to peer connections.

Your mileage may vary, it depends on how skilled the network administrator that set up the wireless network was.

Ad far as tracking goes they will know the MAC address of your device, but connecting that to you is difficult.

Here's how it works:

When a device connects to the Internet via a router either by WiFi or Ethernet the device's MAC address is stored.

Every device that has a network interface has a unique MAC (Media Access Control) address. This is usually expressed in hexadecimal such as 10:25:A4:59:EF:1C

The router then assigns the device a unique IP address via its DHCP service. They are in binary but usually expressed in readable format such as 192.168.1.25

Now you know the technical aspects of how a specific device is identifiable, I will proceed.

Every time a specific device tries to go to a web page or download a file, its Internet browser requests that content from a remote web server be delivered to the device via HTTP or HTTPS.

All of the web content including the source code, formatting (CSS), graphics, flash content, etc. must be requested via the router's connection to the Internet service provider's routing equipment.

The Internet provider is required by law to keep a detailed log of the sites that are visited and files that are downloaded for a period of time that varies by provider and country or state. This router log file will be released to law enforcement with a proper subpena.

NOTE: The Internet provider does not know which device requested the data. The router appears as one device to the ISP, However the router does know which specific device requested what data.

Good Luck...

Twitter will not load when used with my WiFi connection at home. I have tried the Twitter app from my cell and tablet and the Twitter site from my laptop. In all three cases, when I try to connect with WiFi, it doesn't connect. What can be the problem?

The way you describe it seems like an issue with your ISP not allowing you access for some weird reason.I would recommend the following:1) Check up if Twitter is down on the Website: Down For Everyone Or Just Me -> Check if your website is down or up?If it shows that Twitter is down well then its a problem with their servers and something they need to fix. If it shows Twitter is up then its a more localized problem.2) Try a VPN service like Really simple apps for private access to the global internet. (Personal Recommendation) or HideMyAss to try and access the website, if it allows you to then it might be a problem with your ISP or DNS.3) On your laptop try setting your DNS servers to the Google DNS or Open DNS and try, if it works then it might have been a problem with name resolution. Public DNS - Google DevelopersInternet Security or DNS Service for your Business or Home - OpenDNS4) Another possibility is that something could be messed up with the settings in your router and what you could do is try to reset the router to factory settings and set it up all over again. If all this still doesn't make twitter work then it might just be a problem with your account in which case you would have to ask Twitter Support Twitter Help Center
