Can I Shorten The Word

How do you shorten the word drive?

Dr.

If u shorten the word "friend", is it "fre"?

would be "Frd" because the eyes can pick up words easier when they are missing their vowels, but keep a vowel in, and its harder too assemble the word.

How can you shorten the word 'obrigado'?

Sometimes when texting people write "obgd" or "bgd".
Sometimes "bigado" is also used (mostly from a girl to another friend).

Those "words" are not Portuguese the same way "thx" is not a English word.
"Obrigado" should be always used..

Is there a way to shorten the word "matemáticas"?

I'm really sick of typing/writing "matemáticas" every time I want to say "math". I know that it directly translates to "mathematics", which in English can be shortened to simply "math". Is there a way to do this in Spanish? Thanks!

How do you shorten the word "accessories"?

You could try Acs., ars. or Acrs. I don't know if there is an official abbreviation but these should work i hope :)

Good luck!

What do you think of people who shorten words?

I don't think much of people who shorten words. Word shortening that introduces ambiguity shows laziness and a lack of care about the quality of their communication to others. Word shortening just to be cute is vapid.I'll try for a milisecond to understand them, but will just mentally swipe left if their shortening makes no sense. Text speak is ok in text messages and casual communication, but arbitrary word shortening is not.If I saw word shortening on a resume or business correspondence, I'd immediately delete and consider another candidate. The candidate is wasting their time and mine.If a person uses elect instead of electricity, I'd think them a bit off in the head, or a victim of autocorrect who didn't bother to read before pressing send. If hey don't want to take the time to check their message, I won't take the time to read it.I find Cali I stead of California a sign of too much time in the sun and really vapid sounding.I try not to be judgemental, but I'm afraid the person will just not get my attention.

Why do Brits omit or shorten words a lot?

hi--i hope i know enough about brits that i don't let you down.what i THINK you're asking about is the way some brits SQUASH a word such as cholmomdelly. they say "cholmly."i grew up in and near philadelphia. there was route 611, which was the edge of the city, amd some called it "city line." not to be mistaken for "city line avenue, which was somewhere else i think. the street name was cheltenham avenue. an english nane, which most people pronounced "CHELTnm." just the way the brits would pronounce THEIR cheltenham avenue. even worse, nearby in philadelphia, there was CHELTEN avenue. pronounced "CHELTn avenue. i learned to listen carefully when these street names were spoken.worcestershire sauce. WOOSTERsheer sauce. gloucester, new jersey. say it GLOSter. like the brits say THEIR gloucester.they were the ones (the brits) who put all these extraneous syllables in their names in the first place, and now they no longer want to pronounce them.they made a pool into a puddle! that's right--a chap from liverpool is a "liverpudlian!"so i guess there is no answer as to WHY they do it, but they do and they're not going to change, so it will be like our "i before e" rule, with more weird exceptions than not. welcome to english.

Can a 400-word speech be shortened to 2 minutes?

Since the average person speaks, on average, about 225 words per minute, it should be possible for an average person, speaking at a conversational rate, to give a 400-word speech without shortening it. But shorter is often better than longer. Abraham Lincoln’s “Gettysburg Address” was 167 words, which probably took him only about a minute to deliver.

How do I shorten space between paragraphs in Word?

In my version of word (2007 (I stick with what works)):Go to the ribbon. To the right of “paragraph” is a small arrow square thing. Click that.Go to spacing. It will read “Before 0pt, After 10pt”Change that to 0 and 0.To the right is “Line spacing: Multiple”. Change that to “Single”.It’s a source of constant annoyance to me that 0,0 Single is not the default for Word documents. I’m sure there’s a way of changing the default, one day I hope to find out what it is.EDIT: These changes are applied from where the carat is, down. To apply the changes to the entire document, select all with CTRL+A *before* making your changes in the paragraph settings box.
