Can I Stay Overnight At Reading Festival With Two Day Tickets

Help! need to persuade my parents to let me go to leeds festival...?

I'm going to leeds fest! I'm 18, I went last year, and the year before too so I was 16 the first time I went. I've always camped for the whole weekend with a group of friends and I've never had any problems while I was there.

Some things you can point out to your parents are:
They're very strict on alcohol, and you won't be drinking.
There are a lot of staff around the campsites and arena.
Even parents and children go, it can be a family event.
If you camp, camp in the green or brown campsites. They're furthest from the arena but are the quietest and safest ones.
The tickets cost £185 so you really shouldn't waste them!
You won't see half your friends when you go to college so its a good way to round off the summer.
Bands stop playing at around 11-12 so you wont be out too late.

Try showing them the leeds festival website, there are a lot of rules about safety and things like that. Good luck with convincing them! I can't wait for leeds fest, its going to be amazing this year, the line up is brilliant :)

EDIT - The answer above me said to camp in yellow because its quiet. It is NOT, trust me! Its the busiest, most packed out, noisiest camp. Nobody sleeps (its mostyle peaople aged 18-25 in yellow) and everything always gets burned, I'm not sure why... Brown is th "family camping area" so its the quietest.

How to get alcohol under 18 to bring to festival?

I'm 16 and a few friends and I are going to go to Reading festival this summer. Now obviously we want to bring in booze - not too worried about getting it through the gate(ask some people there to carry it in for us) but not sure how to get the alcohol in the first place without our parents seeing it?

Obviously once we've bought it a few days before we go, we can shove it in our bags but surely our parents will notice it in there before we leave? My parents for sure won't let me leave with a 12 crate of beer!

We're planning on getting the coach there so once we've bought the booze we could hide it nearby and pick it up on our way to the coach station.

Any help/advice would be great!

How much would it cost to attend the Sunburn Festival 2015 along with stay and food, from 26th-30th December, per person?

Your cost for attending Sunburn Music Festival 2015 is largely dependent on when you make your bookings. I have split the cost down into three major buckets: Tickets:Sunburn did an “Early Bird” sale on May 27th this year where limited number of both general admission and VIP tickets were sold.General Admission tickets were available for INR 7,250 (USD 113) and allow general access to the four days of the festival, as well as free access to a select few AfterDark parties.  VIP tickets cost INR 12,500 (USD 196) and allow for quicker entry to the festival, as well as an elevated viewing area of the stage. The second “Early Bird” sale will happen on 15th of September and according to the Sunburn website should provide fans with a 20%+ saving. Viagogo, which is predominantly meant as the official ticket-buying platform for international visitors, is presently selling Early Bird General Admission tickets for USD 122 and VIP tickets for USD 210. You can therefore expect full-priced General Admissions tickets to be priced around INR 9,000 (USD 150). Travel:Sunburn 2015 will be held between December 27th and 30th which squarely falls in the peak tourist season for Goa with New Year revelers from across the world heading down here during that period. Even now, the 9th of September, the cheapest Mumbai-Goa return-flight ticket (inbound: 26th December, outbound: 31st December) would cost you about INR 9,500 (USD 145). This figure will only go up the closer you get to the event dates. Accommodation:For the reasons mentioned above, the accommodation rates in Goa would be severely inflated during the event duration. Sunburn will be held in Vagator in Goa which is ~4 Km from the touristy area of Anjuna. If you want to minimize your commute to the event you should stay in and around these two neighborhoods.  If you were to make a booking now, 9th September, you would find decent budget hotels priced at about INR 3,500 (USD 50) per night for this period. While I have not factored in local travel and food etc. you should be prepared to shell out higher than normal rates during this period. If you want to get an instant / real-time budget for your trip, then you can check out the trip planner for Sunburn Music Festival on my site: http://eventraveler.com/trip-pla....

Can I leave Reading/Leeds Festival and come back in again with a weekend ticket?

I'm from South Africa and am going to be traveling to Europe to stay with family in August. While we're there I would love to attend Reading Festival. I don't know when the day tickets go on sale and do not want to wait to buy one in the event that they're all sold out before I can. Because I'm 17 and by myself I don't want to stay in the camping grounds at night - I'd feel safer staying in my relative's house in Reading. My question is, if I purchase a WEEKEND TICKET will I be able to leave the festival at night and come back the next morning, or do you have to stay on the festival grounds the entire weekend?

Any information would be appreciated.

Are Music Festivals scary?

I went to sonisphere festival at knebworth house this year. I can't speak for reading itself but i can give you information based on sonisphere.
At sonispehere it was packed so i would definately reccomend getting to stages as early as possible to get good spots to stand. There was only guy who pushed past me and my dad and he was a douchebag. Lots of people were walking back and forth through the crowd but it fine as they werent pushing or shoving us and they were all mostly very polite about it. I will warn you though, at sonisphere when the main headliner which was metallica came on it was absolutely jam packed where you could not move at all. However, you could sing along easily and clap and whatnot so the experience wasnt ruined in the slightest.

I was surprised at how good the food at sonisphere was. Again, i can't speak for reading but the food at knebworth tasted great. Me and my dad had a chinese of all things and it was one of the best chinese takeaways i'd ever had.
At knebworth some people were drunk but they weren't very rowdy. The worst me and my dad got was a drunken man come up to us and started to randomly talking to us. He wasnt scary in case you were wondering and he left us alone pretty easily. I did not see anyone throw up one point during the whole thing.
As for advice to stay calm, i guess just take some deep breathes.

Finally, it will be absolutely fine. I was a bit nervous about sonisphere at first just like you are now about reading and iit was unnescary worry for me as it was fine.

I hope all the bands are good at reading and that you have a good time :)

Burning man: is it ok to go to burning man for only a few days?

Absolutely. You are allowed to enter on any day and leave any day of the event. Be sure to check the official time they open the gate. After that you can enter and leave at any time of day or night. That’s not to say you can come and go willy-nilly. They discourage that. The event is huge and even if you come for the full week, you’ll never see all of it. Go with that in mind and don’t be frustrated that you’re missing something. Everyone is missing something. Go for a quality experience, not quantity. Four or five days will be enough to get a good experience. A lot of people go for less than the full week.If you’re going to camp with people who will be there ahead of you, it can sometimes be difficult to find them. Unless they have an officially preassigned location, they may not be able to camp where they originally planned. Cell phones and texts may or may not work. There is a computerized message board in Center Camp where you can leave messages for each other. If you know your approximate arrival time, they can go check for messages to help connect with you. If you’re camping independently, you may be able to find a vacant spot here or there. Ask the neighbors if a spot is taken. The closer in to the Esplanade, the less likely you’ll find vacant space. There’s always space further out.Having said all that, there have been instances when attendance, according to BLM observers, was over the permitted maximum. In that case they had to stop letting people in until a certain number of people left. That’s very rare, but can happen later in the week.Dust storms are fairly common, sometimes creating white-out conditions where it has been determined it’s too dangerous to allow vehicle traffic. Which means they stop allowing vehicles to enter the event. Usually this is only for 20 minutes or so. It has occurred that they didn’t let vehicles in for several hours. For that matter, the line to get in, check everyone’s tickets etc have at times taken hours to get through. That’s usually on Sunday and Monday of the event. I only mention those things so you aren’t too frustrated with your short time frame. People often have some of their best experiences in line, interacting with hundreds of other folks in the same boat. People share food and look after each other.
