What is the cancellation fee for Geico auto insurance if I terminate my policy early?

Geico does NOT have a cancellation fee if you decide to terminate your auto insurance policy early.Geico offers pro-rate refunds if you cancel your policy in between billing cycles. For example, if I paid for my 12 month insurance policy in one lump-sum payment and then cancelled my policy after 5 months, I would be refunded my premiums payments for the remaining 7 months.Another example, If I already paid my premium for the month of August, but cancel my policy on August 10th, I would receive a refund for the number of days that remain in the billing cycle.Of course, any refunds will include any fees or financial terms outlined in your policy. Some companies give short-rate penalties for early cancellation. These are not entire refunds, but percentages of them.Short-rate penalties discourage drivers from cancelling policies early.Geico does NOT allow you to cancel your policy online. You must cancel your policy by mail or over the phone. If you wish to cancel your policy by mail, you should send a letter of intent 30 days prior to the date you wish to have your policy cancelled. To find the correct mailing address, you can go to Geico’s Mailing Addresses page, select “Auto Insurance” as the category, and then select your state from the drop down menu. You will be given 3 different addresses. Can you cancel out of all the extras right after purchasing a car? (extended warranties, etc)?

I just bought a car from a dealer in Utah, am co-signing with my Dad who is in California. I have signed docs for a bunch of extended warranty, gap, exterior/interior protection, vin etching, key replacement, first year maintenance all for the big price of an added $4k to my loan. The dealer is standing by these extra add-in less than 24 business hours from my purchase, and they say they don't need my dad's signature for the loan to be final.

This sounds and feels fishy, that they can't cancel these extra fees, part of which for products that have not even been applied to my car. I feel like i'm being bullied, and the finance manager was very argumentative with me on the phone when I questioned the charges, telling me I wasn't allowed to legally back out of the deal.

Can anyone offer me any insight on this?

What are the steps to cancelling a TransUnion credit report monitoring membership?

Trans Union is doing a huge diservice to the everyday person that are just trying to get a FREE report. My husband and I needed it to lock in our home back in April 2018. Today as I was checking my bank account statement, i see that today and for the past 3 months Transunion has been charging us $19.95 a month for some bullsh*t membership that we absolutely did not sign up for. After calling 3 different numbers, I finally got through to an actual person. Although he did cancel the service, they would not even consider reimbursing me. And to top that off they are still charging me for July (which isn’t here yet), because they are saying the agreement covers the following month.. Ok, a monthly agreement ( that we did NOT agree to) reflects that if we cancel, we are still charged for the following month. I’m not the smartest, but the whole thing doesn’t add up to me. I asked multiple times to speak to a supervisor or to have an email in order to leave a formal complaint and they have no avenue for any unhappy customers. Unexpected customers considering we had no idea we were going to be charged. Total scam. I am super angry and I just wanted to share my experience. Hope someone who matters sees this and this whole sneaky membership thing goes away. $20 adds up over time (insert eye roll)# used: 855.681.3196

I just bought a car from a dealer and can I trade it in for a different car and....?

I just bought a car from a dealer and can I trade it in for a different car and I know I will still owe the bank money. I heard you can do that over a period of time after you bought it, I bought it 1+ month ago. 2010 Toyota corolla LE. Loan for $13,000. What are some ways, please help and list :)

Dealer insisted to deliver car to my house?

The first person may have been gracious, but still wrong. There is no 3-day law that allows you to unwind a car sale. Once you take possession of the vehicle, you are obligated to the terms of the contract you signed. The car is off their property. and on yours - you own it now.

As to the changing laws - that wont happen either. Think about it; if people could buy cars and return them after 3 days, no questions asked, it would open the floodgates of abuse. People would "buy" an Escallade on Friday, take a road trip on the weekend, and return it SUnday night with 1000 miles, and walk away. IT would turn dealers into free rental agencies with no income, and all the liability. Nope, that will not fly.

The only recourse you have right now is the hope that a bank will not approve you for financing in light of the change in income. If the bank calls you for an interview, tell them what you really make. You may even be able to call the bank and tell them that the job was eliminated. They can still hold your feet to the fire and force you to honor the contract, but they MAY let you out.

Why will the car dealers not cancel the invoice for new cars if the consumer does not want to proceed with the car sale? It is like when the consumer changed his mind and wants to buy a different car.

If the dealership ordered the car to your specification, it is likely because they didn’t have that car on their lot. You probably wanted some option that they prefer not to order because it makes the car more likely to sit on the lot and not be purchased (like ordering a luxury car in the US with a manual transmission… there are a few buyers who would love it, but most consumers would immediately pass). Why should they have to suffer a financial hardship because you placed an order (and entered into a sales agreement) and then backed out? The answer: They shouldn’t. You change your mind, you forfeit your deposit. If they are nice, they might let you transfer it over to another car, but that’s up to them at their option and if it makes sense for them to do so.I went to a Volvo dealer back in 2009 to look at the, then, brand new XC60, a mid-sized SUV / crossover that was a bit of a rarity back then. Most Volvo owners want a safe car in bland colors with relatively few options. The dealership had every could you could want, as long as it was black, white or one of 5 different shades of grey. They all had black interiors and one or two basic options packages (2wd, 4wd, nav). I pulled out the brochure and said “I want this cool metallic cranberry red color w/ the 2-tone leather and this list of options (fairly long).” The dealer said “Um… we’d never be able to sell that car if you backed out. I’m going to need a deposit.” “Fine… how much?” “$3000?” “Sure. Is a personal check OK? A few months later I went back to the dealer to pick up the new car. It was sitting in the delivery area of the showroom and, while I was there waiting for the delivery guy to become free and walk me through the car’s features, 3 different couples dragged their salesperson over to the car and said “I want this car! Look at the leather! Is that a bamboo dash! The paint is so sparkly!” and they had to explain that it was already sold and that they had nothing like it on the lot.

How can I get out of this LA Fitness personal training mess? I signed up 2 months ago. The trainer told me I could cancel at anytime, as long as I paid $80. But now I’m told I’m locked into a 12 month agreement, but can pay 50% of what is still owed.

Hello, I've previously worked as a Fitness Director with LA Fitness so I hope that I can be of help to you! I only worked for LA Fitness for less than 2 months due to the tactics they employ for sales and the unethical approach at fitness.LA Fitness offers 3 ways out of a contract, none of which you want to be applicable for.Move: Move to a new location in the world that is not within 30 miles of an LA Fitness facility. Must provide proof via a utility bill or other. I believe that there is still a $30 cancellation fee.Bankruptcy: If you file for bankruptcy or are unable to continue training due to legal financial obligations your contract can be closed.Physical Disability: Although the wording on the contract is vague, unless you are permanently physically disabled they will not allow you to quit your contract. Now that you are aware of their three ways to leave the contract (read your contract, they are listed there), let's talk about some more reasonable options!Get a new card. If you get a new card, whether debit or credit, they will NOT be able to bill you. We were taught to use a scare tactic that if you do not continue paying your personal training that your membership will be cancelled. This is not the case, put your membership on a new card if not already separate and cancel or replace the card you have your training agreement on. (Side note- general managers are thirsty for new memberships if you are willing to create a new membership. They don't care whether or not you have been a member previously. If the above option is not available to you for some reason, I would highly recommend calling the corporate office and asking to speak to the regional Vice President of Training or their superior. If you waste enough of their time, they will eventually cut their losses.Sorry about your experience at LA Fitness! If you still need help with anything in regards to health and fitness stop by our blog and read our article or send us a message!

Contracts: How can I setup legal payments, as a private party, to purchase a car from another private party?

Car loans are normally easy credit to get. Is it because your credit is bad? The car is too expensive for your income? You have little credit history? If the seller, or another individual, is willing to loan you the money it is easy enough to write a document for a personal loan. If you google the topic you'll find many examples, and there are sites that will let you download or customize the documents for free. However, it is much harder to figure out how to "secure" the loan by using the car as collateral. The loan programs advertised by car dealerships are often only for individuals with the best credit. That means a low downpayment or interest rate, so the dealership can advertise low payments for the car. If that's the case, see if the dealer works with sub-prime lenders, or if you can find a third party lender. You can also get unsecured personal credit, like credit cards or just a personal loan, and use it to buy a car. You might explore some crowd lending programs like Prosper or LendingClub to see if their criteria are different. Somebody may be willing to give you a direct personal private loan. If the seller is a private party perhaps they will accept payments over time, or let you rent to own. See if your employer is willing to work with you for a company vehicle, if it's necessary for your job.If none of this works, you may simply not have enough credit to buy a car at that price. Buy an inexpensive used car for now. Learn how to build your credit or work to improve credit defects. Try again in a few months to a couple years.
