I have a headache and I've been told to not take ibuprofen before getting a tattoo because its a blood thinner. I have about 2 1/2 hours before my tattoo, and would like my headache to go away. Do you think I would be okay to take a couple?

I went a week prior to getting my tattoo, to pick out what I wanted, knowing I would come in the following week drunk and pilled up to avoid the pain. The guy who did my tattoo is the BEST..I knew through other friends, how professional his work was-but also told him, I could NOT handle pain. I did want my 2nd tattoo the same day, but he would only do 1. I'm glad I didn't get it, I shattered my left leg-both bones and my ankle..They would have cut straight through it. Always get your tattoos where they can be covered up out of respect in certain places and also never in an area that a bone could be broken and they would have to cut through it. Good Luck!!!!!!!! Also, Wash it 3/4 times a day with ivory and use a Antibiotic ointment like Neosporin and cover it for the first few days with gauze. It will keep it from scabing up and itching, plus helping to not get infected.

so just got a tattoo an hour ago and around the last few days i got wisdom tooth pain so today the dentist put me on anti biotics for my tooth and gave me prescribed ibrupofen for the pain. so then i went to get my tattoo , i didnt take the ibrupofen before, but not my tooth is hurting more than my tattoo . so can i take some??

Yes. I do it all the time. They will tell you no drinking as well, but it really depends on the artists and liability I suppose. I would suggest taking your normal 'feel awesome' does about 30-60 minutes before. That way you will be calm and the pk's are going to work most effectively that way. IF you take them once you start, they aren't going to work nearly as well. Once your body feel pain, it is hard to make it forget. A would also take down a couple drinks, make sure you get the full impact of your goodies. From there is you go more than 2 hrs, take another 1/2 dose so it keeps in your system.
