Can I Take Pain Meds Like Perciet With Cough Medcicne

Im pregnant and i have been given a cough medicine with codiene can someone please help me!!!! answer this q.?

I would take it. Category C usually means there haven't been any direct studies done on humans. Who is going to do a study that could possibly harm a baby? So the studies never happen. Codeine is pretty commonly prescribed to pregnant women in need of pain killers and is considered reasonably safe by the medical community.

How do i get promethazine codeine cough syrup?

You need a prescription. If you actually need it, go ask your doctor. Codeine is for pain. Codeine cough syrup is used to treat sore throat conditions like strep throat. Promethazine, aka Phenergan, is for nausea.

I hope this helps.

How long should I wait to drink alcohol after taking medicines?

Ah this one question! There is no simple one liner to this for we have a plethora of medicines and ways they react with alcohol. Now if it’s a 20 years old asking this one or a 60 years old?!For the elderly, highly recommended to stay away from any form of drinking atleast for 72 hours. As we age the capacity of liver to metabolise the drug itself reduces, let alone alcohol. And for the rest of us, let’s divide it into categories for a quick glance.1)‘Don’t even think about it’Here are a few causing a reaction so strong they have coined a term for it- Disulfiram like reaction. Headache, vomiting, chest pain, breathlessness and worse!•Nitroimidazoles (Metrogyl mostly)• Cephalosporins (Third generation)•Antifungals•Propanolol•Vasodilators•Cotrimoxazole•Antidiabetics•Antiepileptics or antipsychotics•Immunosuppressive drugs2) Over-the-counter AntibioticsThose reading this, I assume, are not sick anymore and just forced into finishing the course with a party to attend! Here’s the deal- alcohol in moderation can be taken with common antibiotics (Amoxicillin/Azithromycin/Augmentin). But I doubt if it’s going to be a pleasant experience since the mild side effects like metallic taste are just going to worsen.3) Cold n’ Allergy medicationsNo matter how fancy the claims, almost all of these cause mild sedation. Alcohol exerts a synergistic effect only making you sleepier with a longer reaction time.Let atleast 8 hours pass before you hold that drink. And in case you’re going to drive- drop it altogether.4) PainkillersThe golden rule with NSAIDS (Ibuprofen/ Paracetamol/Aspirin) is never take them empty stomach. And whether you should mix them with alcohol depends on the duration you’ve been taking them for!•Close to a week- your stomach mucosa is too vulnerable to be exposed to alcohol. It might lead to an ulcer or GI bleed. Stay off.• A day or two- couple of drinks wont harm. Just make sure to eat along. The obvious be stated- it’s all a game of moderation. And I’m sure everyone knows where to draw the line. Stay safe.Cheers!

Would cough syrup w/codeine and vicodine show up the same in a probation drug test?

Would cough syrup w/codeine show up the same as vicodin in a probationary drug test?
I had a prescription for vicodin in Sept of '07 and I never finished it. Now, I am sick and have that cough syrup w/ codeine (Promethizine or something) and was curious about something.
I am on probation for a DUI due to a controlled substance which was Xanex which I am now off of due to the fact of the DUI. Anyway, I have taken the vicodin for a several, I believe three to four days at 5/500 with two-three a day, as it helped with some back pain I had from lifting. Being that I am sick, I don't lift and now take my cough syrup.

Would the codeine and vicodin show up as the same thing? And should I worry since I did have a prescription for vicodin because I have heard that it only valid for three months after prescribed? Any help would be appreciated!

Hydrocodone cough syrup and urine test?

You will show the bottle of cough syrup to the urine testing place and show that this is a valid rx for your son and they cannot do a thing.

Will hydrocodone pills work for coughing?

Yes, they can. Many opiate/opioid narcotics--including hydrocodone---(including the pills--many of which contain acetaminophen in combination with hydrocodone--often in generic versions of the brand names "Vicodin, Lortab, and Norco" work--and are even sometimes prescribed for this purpose. (Just like codeine-containing cough syrups--only hydrocodone is stronger.
Of course, there are safety limits about not exceeding the dosage of acetaminophen per day (bad for liver--especially long-term---some have this effect with even LESS than the Maximum highest quantity recommended..
Additionally, some people are sensitive/have side effects to certain dosages of the hydrocodone; and the hydrocodone pills might effect you differently.
Furthermore, you should visit and seek the advice of a physician or other licensed qualified prescribing practitioner (e.g. nurse practitioner, or physician assistant)--for: 1) the aforementioned reasons; and 2) the mere fact that you should not be diagnosing/medicating on your own; and 3) the doctor should exam you and might PRESCRIBE/Recommend OTHER MDS--either alone--and/or in addition (e.g. another cough syrup; more--or a different kind of antibiotic; an inhaler; more of that type of syrup; a corticosteroid; cough syrup with codeine; nasal spray; over the counter pills, etc.
It's ALWAYS best to seek--and recommend--the appropriate professional's advice. Also, you could then talk to the pharmacist about your treatment plan and any other recommendations.
However, I would advise not to take them without consulting a physician

How can I get pain meds (Oxycontin) without a prescription in Canada?

Anybody who would come to that conclusion, that is, that those who experience disaster are being punished, are betraying an ignorance about what the Bible teaches about the character of GodWe humans tend to view longevity or material possessions or good health as blessings and therefore poverty or illness or a shortened life as tragic. But what if what really matters in this life is the lessons we learn through our suffering? This life is mercifully short and packed with experiences that will translate into the next life..or not, depending on what we do with them.the Bible says that God is not willing that any should perish but that all would come to repentance. The most wicked King of the kingdom of Judah was Manasseh. He reigned for 55 years, more than any other king and yet he shed innocent blood during most of his reign. His grandson, Josiah, only reigned 31 years, though he was one of the top 5 Kings of Judah, in righteousness comparable to King David. What was Josiah's sin that he be so punished? Only God knows the answer to this question, but I do find it interesting that Manasseh had a change of heart at the end of his life and enacted a series of reforms before he died.Had he been properly judged for all of his misdeeds, that moment of repentance would not have happened and he would have died in his sins. Why was John the Baptist beheaded, as well as James, but Peter was spared? I'm sure God had his purposes. The disciples once asked Jesus, who sinned, this blind man or his parents? Jesus told them, neither the blind man or his parents sinned but he was left that way for that very moment so that when Jesus healed him it would bring glory to God.Luke 13 Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans because they suffered this way? 3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4 Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”
