How to transfer photos from a Tracfone to an ATT fone?
The *only* way to transfer photos off the 375 is to send them via MMS. Tracfone has disabled the bluetooth computer connectivity. You'll have to buy an airtime card and add it to the Tracfone. The lowest price card in a retail store is $19.99 for 60 units/90 days, or on tracfone.com you can buy 30 minutes/30 days for $9.99. Or enroll in the $9.99 50 unit a month plan, then cancel. Of buy a reconditioned phone that comes with a card and use promo code 23444 for $3 off, making it $16.99 for a 60 unit card; unless you're in a CDMA Only zip code in which case none of the offerings include an airtime card. (May as well use 88120 for a free accessory kit too, since it's free.)

Franko had the best answer of them all…While you can switch your sim to a compatible phone and it will call and access data, etc; the cs rep at tracfone stated that there might/will be problems later as tracfone will still have the old esn tied to that sim. So temporarily switching sims will work….The correct procedure is to buy a new sim kit (Bestbuy $1) and call tracfone to register that new sim to the new phone’s esn. It seems that the sim is “married” to the first phone it is assigned to, thus a new esn requires a new sim to avoid problems later on.The only question I have is why you would want to use TracPhone anyway? They are one of the worst value phone plans around, and are not the easiest company to deal with…they are known primarily for cheap “burner” phones with expensive talk plans. Port your number to a legitimate company like MetroPCS and get a couple free months of service or a free phone (depending on what promotion they have at the moment) and you will be much better off…

JasonB is mostly right - when you transfer you transfer *all* of one phone's minutes and days of service to another phone. The only "choice" you have is whether to transfer the phone number as well. Assuming you aren't interested in that: if your dad has a CDMA (no SIM card) phone, his number will probably be lost immdeately. But if it's a GSM phone (has a SIM card) then he has up to 60 days to reactivate it, for which he'll need an airtime card.

You cannot use a tracfone sim card in non-tracfone phone. It is true that tracfone sim is locked to the phone it was activated in. You probably noted that tracfone phones keep track of your minutes and days on the screen? This is because of the special software installed on each tracfone phone. So, part of your account information (for instance your phone number) is kept on the sim card, and other account information (like minutes and days) is kept on the phone. That's why your sim card cannot function without the tracfone phone it was activated in. If you put a new tracfone sim into a tmobile phone, it will not work. Just because your tmobile phone does not have the software needed for your tracfone account.
