Malcolm,Just for clarification, the standard industry terms for the two cards you mentioned are: 1) General purchase, reloadable (GPR) prepaid debit card and 2) Gift card. The GPR card will always have a card network brand (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). Some gift cards also have one of these brands but others do not. Both the network-branded GPR and gift cards can be used to pay for purchases at any retail store that accepts cards bearing that brand.In some instances, yes, you can use a Visa or MasterCard branded gift card to purchase a GPR card. However, whenever you use a Visa or MasterCard-branded card of any type (credit, debit, GPR or gift), however, the merchant incurs fees for the processing of the payment transaction. As a general rule of thumb, those fees can equate to about 3% of the purchase price. When you purchase a reloadable (non-gift) prepaid debit card, the merchant will typically charge an activation fee of about $4.95 (higher in some cases, lower in others) and most, if not all, of that fee will be retained by the merchant. You'll be obligated to add some value to the prepaid debit card at the time of purchase, usually a minimum of $20. If you elect to load the minimum, you'll have paid about $24.95 and the merchant fees will be around $0.75. You make sure you have money in your main account. The go to Amazon, open an account if you don’t have one. Once you have the account, connect your pay pal account to it, and make sure you have the main bank one connected to Pay Pal. Then once you are set, go to Amazon. Go to the gift cards section. Do your picking, and then pay with Pay Pal. It will take an extra day to reach your bank, but it’s worth it because it’s so easy, so I don’t get why you’d ask such a mindless question, but maybe you didn’t realize.
