Can I Use A Snoring Mouth Piece To Correct My Overbite

Can I use a snoring mouth piece to correct my overbite?

Thanks patricia but as I said my teeth are not crooked or overjet or anything-my teeth are perfectly fine. It is my jaw that's messed up. My lower jaw sets back too far, it isn't my teeth though and that's why I don't think braces will work, those are for teeth and unless maybe it can somehow fix your jaw too then I don't want or need those. I should just go see my dentist but I seriously don't want to I have a major fear of the dentist:( & I know it is my jaw because my face says it-when I pull my jaw forward to match my upper teeth I look a lot better.

If a Receding Chin is caused by mouth breathing, is surgery the only option?

NO, a receding chin is not due to mouth breathing. Mouth breathing often causes high palatal vaults and narrow palates along with gum problems. A functional orthodontist is the best professional to correct Class II jaws skeletally.

BTW, it doesn't matter whether your retruded chin is genetic or not. If you have one, you have one and if it can be corrected without surgery, then that's the way to go. Surgery should always be an option of last resort, IMHO.

Do guys think overbites are cute?

Well not a serious creepy looking overbite but like lauren graham and just normal ones. I've heard a lot of people talk about how they like overbites or that guys do.

Is there a difference between the American Bulldogs and Pit Bulls or are they different names for the same breed?

The simplest answer is yes, there is a difference, most notably that pit bull dogs were bulldogs crossed with terriers. This was done to increase their agility and gameness. Both trace their lineage back to the Old English Bulldog. The American Bulldog was the result of breeding with other bulldog types in America. The pit bull breeds descended from the original cross between bulldogs and terriers…they were literally called Bull and Terrier dogs. From there, pit bull-type dogs branched in several directions, which has led to an absurd amount of confusion. In general, there are four breeds that are considered “pit bulls” in the U.S. these include the American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT), American Bully, American Staffordshire Terrier, and Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Bulldogs are often mistakenly included in this breed grouping. In fact, depending on where you get the information, the term “pit bull” is used to describe anywhere from 4–30 or more individual breeds, not including mixes.

Can you tell if someone has an overbite? Is it unattractive?

Well an overbite is when the upper teeth extend abnormally far over the lower teeth. Your boyfriend may only have a slight overbite so you would not have noticed it. Either way as long as he is not concern about it then it is really nothing to worry about. If he does not like the overbite he has, then it can be corrected with braces.

You also may not have notice because you are not the type of person to look for flaws that one may or may not have. If only more people were like that.

Tooth975 I would really appreciate your answer...?

A simple way to find out if you have OSA is to either have someone watch you sleep (making notes of any instances of gasps , stoppage of breathing) or video your sleep reviewing it for the same instances mentioned.

I ask my patients some simple questions. 1. Do you Snore 2 do you awaken to gasping chocking, morning headaches or dry mouth. 3. Do you awaken refreshed, IE, are you tired throughout the day. 4. Do you have hypertension, GERD or Diabetes.

You can also take two test that you can find on most any sleep lab web site. First is the Berlin Questionnaire and second is the Eppworth Sleepiness Scale. Failing either or both of these will be an indication of OSA. Bring these two tests to your doctor for further evaluation.

Also, if you do not pass either of the above mentions tests; you can ask your doctor for an overnight oximetry test. This will show if you have drops in your blood oxygenation while yo sleep

I need teeth pulled before getting braces?

I've had something quite similar done. I had four teeth pulled out as well, and my orthodontist only put the front braces of my top teeth until I got them pulled out. I got two pulled out at once in a week, then the week after, I got two more. To be honest, the 'pulling out part' wasn't THAT bad. I mean yes it hurts for i'd say just a few seconds when they put the needle WHICH IS TO NUMB THE GUM, so that when they actual pull the teeth out, you don't feel pain just pressure. The first 'session' of getting teeth pulled out, it hurt when he put the needle, and then lots of blood, but really it's only like that for the night. Next day I had school, I mean yes, there are spaces, but who cares what anyone thinks? The spaces will fill up, and by that time you'll have the most perfect smile ever. I was a bit conscious, but I went with it, and here I am, 9 months into braces, and I'm glad that I got that part done! And for the part that you think you're teeth aren't really all that crooked? I'm sure they aren't, but for the entire 'smile' to fit together at the end, you probably do need the two teeth pulled out so that you don't have a huge overbite, if you understand what I mean? (To balance out, two top two bottom) So in short, you should do it :)

Why do some people make loud smacking noises while chewing food?

I really couldn’t tell you but oh my God is it annoying! I can not stand it. I can’t notice it at school because of the loud setting, but when I’m at home sitting across from my mother who is a pretty loud chewer, I have to dig my nails into my leg.The sound is like nails on a chalkboard for me. Loud chewing, along with actual nails on a chalkboard, and snoring, are probably the most insufferable sounds for me.
