What is the process at VFS for UK visa (tier 4 student) in India ?

Hi,When you arrive for your visa appointment at VFS center please arrive atleast 10 minutes prior (not before that as you’ll be told to wait on any other floor) to the appointment time. And please don’t come empty stomach as its atleast 2.5 hrs process. You’ll be called by the security guard according to your interview time. When you enter in the office door you’ll be told to show your appointment letter and turn off your mobile phone. Then there would be another gate and as you cross that there would be another counter most probably at your right where you’ll be getting token which has a number and when called you have to show up your documents at the designated counter. At the same counter you’ll be getting two more papers out of which one you're gonna fill ( please carry a pen) while looking at your CAS letter and the other will be filled by the document checker. Now when your token number is called show all the documents there. And if choosing priority visa carry 15,000 INR in CASH (thank me later), then they'll give you back your documents in their folder with the payment receipt and a plastic slip having a barcode. Please if you're going for a priority visa choose home delivery as its faster than picking up from VFS ( 2 days faster). When you're done with this you’ll be asked to go to the biometric counter when your token number is called where you’ll be submitting your documents and giving your hand print and picture. Then lastly you’ll be told to wait by the VFS personal and when he calls you’ll have to appear for a skype voice/video call. When you're done with this you can leave the VFS center.Hope for the best.

What are the documents required for a UK dependent’s (spouse) visa?

I applied for my wife's visa 4 months back and she is here with me now so I think I qualify for answering the question. You will need to apply for your PBS (point based system) dependent visa online when you are applying from India (need to pay visa fees close to 60k INR). You will also need to pay NHS surcharge £210* no of years your  would -be's visa is valid for (links mentioned when applying online). Along with the above, you would needCopies of your would-be's visa and passport (better to scan and have multiple copies with you)Tuberculosis test result from an authenticated test centre near you. Test centres in the link below. https://www.gov.uk/government/up... Marriage certificate original copyMarriage photos clearing showing both of you (couple of photos of you both along with family members)3 months original bank statements with atleast £950 in the account (better to have hard copies or get the statement directly from a bank branch). Important that the balance is not below the amount for the 90 day period.Completed online application copies and copy of NHS payment with reference no ( we get that after paying the NHS surcharge )Your passport.6 months payslips of your would-be (not mandatory but will be good to have)COS letter from the sponsor of your would-be ( just for the sponsor id, not mandatory)Tax forms if your would-be has one (not mandatory)NHS registration letter of your would-be o any other address proof (not mandatory just as support for address proof)Then you would be issued a 1 month visa and upon arrival you must collect you BRP from the designated post office (mentioned after your application completion). It is important that you travel in the one month period else you will need to get an extension on it ( at an additional fee of course ) . Also you must collect your BRP within a week of landing, else there will be a fee to get that again.HMore info in this link.https://www.gov.uk/government/up...

What are "sufficient funds" for a UK tourist/family visa?

There is no set amount - if there were, then it would be stated.“Sufficient” means no more or less than what it normally means. In the context of international travel that entails: transport, accommodation, food and drink, sightseeing or other planned activities, travel within the country, contingencies (i.e. travel insurance), and a reasonable buffer just in case. You will need to have flights and accommodation sorted before you apply anyway (if you don’t, the application will most likely be rejected). For the rest, show them your budget plan. It doesn’t have to be too granular - just, for example:Day 3: trip to LondonTrain fare for two people: £30Lunch and dinner for two: £60Museums: freeTheatre tickets for two: £100Shopping on Oxford Street: £200Needless to say, the total budgeted amount should be more than supported by your combined bank balances (i.e., don’t budget a £5,000 holiday if you only have £3,000 between you). Also, any support from people other than the applicant (including the applicant’s British spouse) must be supported and evidenced. Get them to write a letter for you to include, attach copies of their ID documents, and include bank statements and any other relevant documents. A common example of this is if you are staying with in-laws during the trip - in that case they need to write a letter, supply copies of their passports, and supply the deed or lease for their property. All this may sound excessive, but having helped my wife apply for two visitor’s visas and a spouse visa I can promise you that it is not. Unless your bank account shows six figures, take it seriously.
