Can I Use My Fsa Card To Pay Off My Carecredit Account

If i have a HSA can it be used to pay CareCredit?

If the expenses incurred on the Carecredit Card were incurred before you opened the HSA, no.

If you open the HSA, then incur the expense, temporarily putting it on the Carecredit card, fund the HSA and then pay the card, that would be okay.

I'd have to question how you are funding the HSA....

Do dental bills count as medical expenses for 401k hardship withdrawal?

Yes, it qualifies as medical expenses for this purpose, but you don't avoid the 10% penalty or the regular income tax with a hardship withdrawal. You simply get access to the money.

You may wish to explore other sources of loans. Your costs for the hardship withdrawal could be a lot higher than for the interest on the loan.

Here is one more suggestion. Ask your husband's employer if they offer a flexible spending account for medical expenses. This allows your husband to spread the $3,000 expense over a full year. The employer will take a portion from each of your husband's paychecks, but you can spend the money you need to on the dental work immediately after January 1, 2009. You don't have to wait until the funds are deducted from each paycheck. All the money becomes available at once!

Why wouldn't feminine care items (pads and tampons) be covered by a flexible spending account?

Sexism. To be clear, are you boobies leaking milk postpartum? Yeah those pads are covered. You can also get pads for being incontinent. But not tampons or pads designed to absorb menstrual blood. This has nothing at all to do with hygiene items like razors. It’s also not like haircuts or tooth brushes.Women must have feminine hygiene products in order to go to work!
