Can I Use My Nus Extra Card To Get Fright Night Tickets

Why don't colleges care about middle school grades?

Basically middle school grades don't count but are simply encouraging sources to boost your performance and make you do better the next time. However, the grades hold no importance yet is considered to be the most reliable performance report.Grades don't determine intelligence but test the obedience. So, getting unsatisfactory grades might have fretted you. But you shouldn't care. Grades are spurious evaluation of performance.I got an A on the third quiz in American history, an A, dammit. Last time I got a Bup from a Cand my father said,"if you can get a Cyou can get a B,if you can get a Byou can get an A."-I got an Aand my father said,"grades don't mean anything.Grades may discourage you to be inactive and rebel. Some students excel under pressure, and there are those who crumble beneath it. It’s easy to praise the students who continuously work hard, but let’s try not to berate those who find it difficult to focus. The Current Perception of the importance of grades in academics dumbfounds me, because I think that by caring too much about grades, most students are missing the point of education. If you really look closely, most overnight successes took a long time. - Steve JobsIn short, don't let grades decide who you are. A single piece of paper will not decide your future, dude. Cheers !!!Hope it helps. Upvote if satisfied.

What are some interesting sleeper class train travel stories?

It was November and I was travelling from Delhi to Bangalore for a job interview. Mine was the side lower berth. When i boarded the coach, i found a young (18-19 yo) boy sitting on my seat. He was dressed in traditional Muslim salvar kameez and a skull cap.I allowed him to stay seated there as there is always enough space on a side lower berth for two people to sit comfortably. I came to know that this person named Wali, a native of Bangalore and was studying in a madarsa in Deoband. He was travelling back home for passport verification. Now as he was from Bangalore, i flooded him with questions about the city, Kannada language (learnt my first Kannada word from him) and there was no end to our conversation. After few hours, we were both exhausted and decided to continue our conversation next morning. When it was time to sleep, he pulled out a bundle of newspaper from his bag and started spreading it on the passage near my berth. It was very cold and I insisted that we can share the berth. I told him that people who have RAC tickets also sleep on side lower and I could manage. He was very thankful and obliged. Our train reached Yeshwantpur railway station, he told me the bus number which i should board in order to reach my destination, and said goodbye. After 2 days, I had to return, but this time, i got a ticket with waiting list 183. There was no way i could get a seat on this waiting, so i packed a bundle of newspaper in my bag :) and waited on the platform. While i was waiting, boom, i saw Wali standing on same platform with his father. He instantly recognised me. When he came to know that my seat was not confirmed, he told me that he will be sharing berth with me.We enjoyed our journey back and our discussions were endless.Karma works :) !!

What is your biggest “only in Lebanon” moment?

When you see a guy on a small motorcycle, heating up the coal and delivering shisha. When you go to “zaatar w zeit” after the party (lebanese restaurant) to grab a bite at 3 a.m and wait till you get a table. When everyone knows everyone. When you meet a stranger who is family and didn’t know. When people fight to pay the bill.when you’re travelling to visit family members living abroad and everyone wants to send gifts and lebanese food with you. You end up paying extra money because the luggage is over weight. When the police man is texting and the car traffic in front of him is awful.when they start telling you stories about the past lebanese war stories while having a family lunch on sunday. When some stranger sees you walking on the street; call you from the balcony and ask to lift the electricity breaker for them.when it’s almost 6:00 and everything is turned on, you start running around the house to turn off everything so you don’t have to go down the stairs and lift the breaker. (only lebanese people will get this). When people fight for parking spots.
