Can I Use Neon Pink Food Coloring To Get A Dark Red

How do u make pink with food coloring?

Add red, one drop at a time, until you get the shade of pink you want.

How to make red food coloring come out RED and not PINK?

The shade of red you have could make a difference. The gel colors come in, Red Red, Super Red, Christmas Red, Tulip Red, Chinese Red to name a few. Of these the Red Red comes out the reddest, to me. If you are using Christmas red it stays kind of pinkish.
The red color does take a lot to get it a deep red...and it does have a taste to it when you have to use too much. If you have the time...............
If you can mix the frosting the day before you are going to use it, the red color will deepen as it sits. Your color will be twice as dark tomorrow. If you can't wait to ice the cake but are going to be serving it tomorrow....it will still be a darker red color after sitting 24 hours...the only thing, you won't be able to know ahead of time just how much darker it is going to get.

If your color is dark but pink instead of red you might try adding just a tiny touch of orange to it to take it away from the pink color.

How do I color fondant REALLY red ( not pink, or pastel, as food coloring will make)?

The trick with red, and other colours, is it darkens over time. So you tint it as much as you can to just lighter than you want it and leave it up to 24 hours to rest, and then adjust more if needed.
Another trick when making your fondant is to use something like maraschino cherry juice as your liquid instead, so it will already impart a red colour. It is a good idea to add almond extract or some such extract, because red and other dark gel or paste colours have a bitter or intense taste. You can of course use 'no taste' red- I use that when I need to use more than a small amount- with gel and paste colours, you don't want to use a lot anyway. But like I said, those colours do darken over time, so don't freak out if it looks light for the first while.
On an additional note, something like brown or black is easier to get if you start out with chocolate fondant.

The other altnerative of course, depending on what you're doing with the fondant, is to use a spray gun. that way you use way less, and also guests will not have as much red on their teeth/tongues/lips to contend with as if the whole fondant was red (I know this from experience, with black, lol). (It is not advisable to use a lot of colour, dark ones especially, like blacks, browns and reds, because they leave a nasty taste). (And gel and paste colours are the only ones you should use for fondant, not the common liquid colours you get in the general grocery store, as they cause the fondant to get too gummy, sticky)

And finally, a tip of course, to make sure you use gloves!

Good luck!

Can I add food coloring to white cake mix to make it pink or blue?

Yes you can. Either buy McCormick Neon colors which come in pink and blue or just use red coloring for pink and blue for blue. Start out with 1 drop, mix it in, add one drop at a time until you get your desired color.

You could also use pink or blue sprinkles in the batter. After it is cooked, there will be pink or blue spots all over the cake.

Either way you do it...Cook the cake ; Let it cool ; Remove it from the pan ; Frost it with chocolate frosting [make sure to frost every visible spot {sides&top}

That is a very cute idea.
Good Luck!

How do you make red food coloring with other colors?

What colors make pink paint?

Pink can range from a tint of red (that is, red mixed with white) to a pure hue such as magenta (which can be referred to as “hot pink”). So generally pink lives somewhere in the red-white-purple area of the color gamut. If you are using red green and blue as additive primaries, you’ll need red and blue and possibly green. rgb(255,180,180) would be a pale red (it includes all three primaries), while rgb(255,0,255) would be hot pink (there is no green). rgb(255,100,220) is somewhere between them, and would probably be a typical “girl’s toy aisle pink”, like the color of this car:(feel free to play with my color changer gadget)(note that the rgb triplets that I use above are one way to specify colors on a computer/web browser, with 255 being the maximum value for any component value). If you’re using magenta, yellow and cyan as subtractive primaries, such as in color printing, you can get hot pink using pure magenta ink (no mixing needed), or a more traditional pale red with lesser amounts of magenta and yellow. (solid magenta and yellow will give you a solid red…so you need less ink to let the white of the paper to come through)

How do you mix food coloring to make black?

You buy the little boxes of dye at the grocery store with the little drop bottles, and you drop 4 drops each of red and yellow in a dish, then two drops of each of blue and green. You have to use red in the black to get that true dark black color. Use it in larger increments if that isn't enough dye, although it should be enough to dye two cups of sugar for lollipops or one cup of icing.Source(s): Culinary Arts student; Baking, Pastry, and Confection concentration
