Can I Use Tetralysal Pills Without A Doctor

Fatigue as a side effect of Tetralysal?

About a week ago i started taking Tetralysal for acne (i take two pills a day) and since then Ive been feeling EXHAUSTED every single day! No matter how much sleep i get i wake up tired beyond belief. Will this eventually go away as my body gets used to the antibiotic?

Can Tetralysal cause Tinnitus?

Yes it can. The side effect is not included on the patient leaflet but is listed as a possible side effect in the PDR (Physician's Desk Reference).

Yes, it should go away, but you should notify your doctor before discontinuing it.

Does tetralysal lymecycline 300 stop all contraceptive pills from working? 10 points best answer!?

In theory, antibiotics can affect the way oestrogen (active ingredient in the combined pill) is absorbed by your body, which can reduce the efficacy of the Pill. You should use additional contraception for the entire time you are taking the antibiotics and for a full 7 days afterwards.

In my opinion, the risk the very minuscule, the main concern is with antibiotics such as rifampicin or rifabutin which completely stop the Pill from working, but these antibiotics are seldom used in general practice. It's better to be safe than sorry though, so do use additional contraception.

If your acne has resolved, then you should come off the antibiotic. There is a chance of relapse but you can't really stay on it indefinitely.

Can I stop taking Tetralysal for acne?

*** Context for the above question ***I am on tetralysal for my acne. But it is making my stomach feel weak and empty and I feel tired and weak. I just don't feel myself. I don't like feeling this way. Even though I take probiotics an hour after the antibiotic, I still feel unwell. I have been on it for over 2 weeks my whole prescription is 3 months. (Also i have lost one of the tables from this month’s box of tablets.) Can I just stop? If I finish this box it will not be the whole box since I am missing one of the capsules. Is this ok? When can I stop?? I am worried the tetralysal will mess up my stomach forever! And this will cause other worse problems.

Should I carry on with tetralysal 300? (acne treatment)?

Well I started on tetralysal for about a month and saw no real difference personally, but my mother and friends said they noticed I had less spots than before...
but then once I ran out I was not able to see my doctor for over a week so that whole month was basically a waste
now though I have currently been on tetralysal for a month taking one tablet every day in the mornings usually on an empty stomach, i'm also on isotrexin gel but have only been on that for a few days. I don't feel like these tablets are really helping me, my doctor tells me that they would also help with my blackheads as well as spots which was reassuring to me as Iooked in the rear view mirror of my mums car and realised how terrible my blackheads were in the normal sunlight!

my doctor has just prescribed me another 2 months worth of these tablets, but she appears to be reluctant to prescribe me accutane, and before you all may scream at your computers I do know why, even I am very hesitant with the side effects and all.

but my real question is should I tell my doctor that I don't feel like these tablets are doing any good or just carry on with the next 2 months worth of tablets?

Is tetralysal (300mg hard capsules) a type of contraceptive?

No. It is not a contraceptive, It will not protect you against pregnancy. Not at all.

It is an antibiotic. It is sometimes used for acne to control the bacteria that grow in acne lesions.

If you want contraception and acne control, there are some contraception pills that are made primarily to stop yo from getting pregnant but have a side effect of improving your acne. Tell your doctor that you want contraception and you also want something that will help your acne.

Can i get pregnant even though I'm on tetralysal 300 (lymecycline)?

You should postpone your desire to conceive till you have finished with tetralysal 300 treatment.

Missing my daily dose of antibiotics- what should I do?

There would be no point in taking another one. The idea is to keep the level of antibiotic in the blood stream above a certain level. When you missed your dose then the antibiotic level in your blood stream decreased to below optimum, but when you took your dose this morning you went up to above the necessary level again. You will not go down below optimum again until tomorrow.
