Can It Only Be One Cockroach

Cockroaches in my bedroom!!?

the average house has 40,000 cockroaches before you know you have a problem
they hide in many places...especially under the house ...in the walls and in the roof
you really need a pest controller
but you can try the commercial sprays or
a saucer of beer ..they will be attracted and drowned or even mix some detergent with with water in a spray bottle an spray them ..they will be dead the next morning
maybe even spread some powdered borax lightly in areas you see them
lol

Can there be just one cockroach?

You don't mention where you live and if roaches are common in that area.

I live in Florida where roaches are as common as grains of sand, and almost as plentiful. No matter how clean your house is around here, you will always find a roach.

They come into your home through the slightest crack or opening, on grocery bags, on people's clothing, and yes, even in diaper bags.

The concern isn't really how it got into your home but how do you get it out, for good. In this case, cleanliness makes a big difference, if there isn't anything to attract them then they move on, but generally not before laying their eggs and reproducing. Then it isn't just one you have to get rid of but in short time, literally hundreds you need to dispose of.

A qualified, licensed pest control expert is your best bet if you want to make sure you are rid of them. Make sure that they provide some sort of gaurantee as to their effectiveness and some sort of return and re-treat policy if bugs return within a specified length of time.

Even in Florida, I don't use any kind of pest control in the home, I just don't like having all those chemicals around me all the time. I just keep the house clean and kill and discard any roach I see, when I see one, which really isn't very often.

You might just want to take the "kill the bug, wait and see" attitude. If you are in a climate where they are not that common, kill the one you have and wait and see if others turn up. If your house is as clean as you say and you have killed the bug pretty much as soon as it showed up then you stand a good chance of not seeing more any time soon. You will save the added expense of extermination.

Good luck.

If I see one cockroach does that mean there's more?

Usually yes, but not always. It is possible that one cockroach hitched a ride from a store or your friend's house to yours, and then it would be the only one in your house. If it was not a female carrying an egg sac, it would not reproduce.
Also if it is the kind of cockroach called a "water bug," a larger black cockroach, they usually live in outbuildings and outside, but one might occasionally wander into the house, without bringing any more.

If there was one cockroach in my room is ther more?????

It depends.

Roaches do not infest a room without food.

If you found a roach in your bedroom, it is just a roaming insect, except if you use to eat at your bedroom... don't do it. Eat at the kitchen.

Now, the kitchen and bathroom is another story.

To combat roaches, forget about sprays and traps. There is a brown type of gel you can buy at the Home Depot, apply 1/2 to 1 inch stripes under the sink, cabinets doors hinges, wherever you think the roaches may roam during the night... they ingest the gel and ending dead at the nest. Roaches are canibals, they eat their dead, so they end up eating the poison and will die along. It works, as far I can say, is the only thing worked in my home.

PLEASE HELP!! Cockroach in my room!!?

I am FREAKING out :((
I had a pile of dirty clothes sitting my room for months. They weren't important clothes to me so I left them there and only washed the ones I wanted to wear. However, I am doing a thorough cleaning of my room today and I was picking up the clothes and putting them in the laundry basket. I picked up the last handful and OH GOD there was a cockroach sitting there. It sat for a second, then suddenly began to craw kind of panicky but...slowly?? along the wall to my closet. My closet is a MESS and I have to clean that too. I didn't want the cockroach going in there so I threw the last handful of clothing back over the cockroach.
It still might have gotten in the closet though. My room is on the second floor and yes I do eat a lot in my room and leave wrappers on the ground, but I have never seen a cockroach in my room ever! How long do you think this cockroach could have been hiding out in my clothes pile?!?
I'm so freaking out. My dad isn't even home to kill it for me. I want to find it, but ...do you think there are more cockroaches in my room hiding somewhere? I mean..do you really think there could only be one cockroach? I have cleaned already the other parts of my room except my closet and have not seen any!

Does seeing one Cockroach mean I am infested?

I went to the bathroom at night, turned the light on, and saw a huge cockroach. Does this mean my house is infested? I ve had quite a few packages delivered lately, so I thought it could be from those, or is it probably much worse. I never see any cockroaches ever in my house so that s what makes me think it s the packages.
