Can Liquid Iron Stain The Teeth

How do I get rid of gutka stains on my teeth?

Gutka stains on teeth generally appear to be dirty yellowish to reddish black in colour. These stains are caused due to frequent gutka chewing. With time these stains become permanent. There are several effective measures ranging from simple home remedies to professional procedures to remove these stains..Some of the common home remedies you can try are:a. Mix a pinch of baking soda with few drops of lemon juice or water. Apply this mixture on a toothbrush and brush your teeth for one minute and rinse thereafter.b. Brush your teeth with salt. Salt acts as an absorbant and helps remove traces of gutka stains.c. Rub the stained teeth with an orange peel. It will be helpful in removing stains as it contains a natural solvent – d-limonene that dissolves the tobacco deposited on the tooth. As these stains cannot be removed by regular brushing at home, they call for a visit to a dentist. A professional dental clean up will give shiny, smooth, stain free teeth. To ensure that once removed, these stains do not start forming again, make sure you brush your teeth twice a day using a soft bristled tooth brush and proper brushing technique.-Visit your dentist once every six months for a routine check up. It is recommended to get cleaning done in once every six months. No matter, even if you opt for several stain free teeth techniques, by quitting tobacco chewing (gutka) you can ensure that these stains do not come again.Dr. Varun Gupta1mg, The Editorial Team

How long after taking liquid iron can i eat?

You can eat approx 30 mins after taking liquid iron supplements. It is fine to eat about 10 mins after most tablet forms, in fact some manufacturers recommend you take them immediately prior to meals.

Taking iron supplements in the morning is best as you prevent constipation. If you need to take 2 doses I would suggest you take them with a small glass of orange juice or similar (the Vit C in the juice increases the amount of iron the body can absorb)and have them 30 mins before breakfast and lunch.

If taking liquid iron supplements drink them through a straw if you can as they can stain your teeth.

Try to avoid Coffee as it can reduce the amount of iron your body can absorb from your food.

What is a permanent solution for brown or black stains on teeth? I got my teeth cleaned at a dentist and lost some enamel. Is cleaning by dentist bad for teeth? He said there is not much we can do to get rid of these stains.

Hello..First of all, getting scaling done, either with hand instruments and ultrasonic scalers will no way remove the enamel of the teeth, if you get it done once or twice a year. Infact, the enamel is so hard that, the tips of the scalers which are made of stainless steel get worn out after about 200 cases, if used properly. So, i am sure the dentist was right when he said that enamel was not lost. Now the feeling you have that you may have lost tooth structure could be because of the presence of bands of calculus, which when removed, may seem like pieces of teeth, as well as the fact that the tongue percieves udulations of the proximal areas, which were formerly hidden by the calculus.BeforeAfterI am sure you do not have calculus as bad as in these pics, but then you never know. Also normally these bands are seen in the lingual (back/tongue) surface of teeth, and difficult to visualise by the patient themselves. Looks something like below, and can be easily confused for enamel. That said, there are two types of stains:Intrinsic stains: due to improper formation or mineralization of tooth during formation.Extrinsic stains: due to deposition of forrd and debris on the tooth.Whereas all types of extrinsic stains can be removed by basic scaling, treatment of intrinsic stains involves either bleaching the tooth, composite resin restoration, crownscrowns, veneers or a combination of the above.Coming to your query about darkened holes and "grooves"- these may be deep pits and fissures present on the occlusal table (chewing surface), which get stained easily, and is difficult but not impossible to clean completely; or could be initial decay, which your dentist may have overlooked. A second opinion would be best in such cases.Hope this helps you. Please feel free to clarify further in comments.Cheers..

Multivitamins for children under 2 other than liquid vitamins? Currently use polyvisol but it is vile?

I talked to their doctor yesterday and he said a gummy vitamin would be fine for my 15 month old twins, but he didn't know of any with iron. (They take the vitamins purely for the iron, as they both have low iron counts.) He said the only vitamins he knew of with iron were the chewable flintstone vitamins, but as they only have 6 teeth he said he didn't know if they could chew them. He said gummy vitamins were fine, the reason they aren't recommended for under 2 is the lack of information for age 2 and under.

I looked it up online, and the amount of vitamins in the flintstone plus iron vitamins were a bit different- mainly iron. Polyvisol has 10 mg, flintstones has 15 mg.

Anyway, what do you guys think? Would you try a flintstone vitamin at 15 months? Or do you know of a gummy vitamin that contains iron?
