Can Liquid Paraffin As Nasal Drops Be Used Daily As Lubricant Without Any Side Effects

Is it okay to use expired eye drops?

Ok, I should probably have answered this one anonymously, but here goesFirst the disclaimers : this is not meant as medical advice, just an opinion, probably just a wild guess, don't take advice from strangers on the internet, and don't run with scissors. The FDA would say no, don't use any expired medications. Manufacturers were required by law in 1979 to mark all drugs with an expiration date before which the manufacturers guarantee full potency and safety. IMO it is advantageous for the manufacturers to use very short expiration dates. It reduces the chance that someone will sue them for an ineffective drug or drug reaction because the drug had deteriorated. Also they sell (a lot) more drugs, because people (and stores?) have to throw out a lot of unused/unsold meds. Profit motive. The US military commissioned a study by the FDA because they were throwing out tons (probably literally) of expired drugs every year that they had stockpiled . The study showed that 90% of the drugs tested were good even 15 y after the stamped expiration date. Ones that expire more quickly are po nitroglycerin, possibly tetracycline, insulin, some liquid antibiotics. So, if the drops are sealed, have been stored in a cool, dry place (not the trunk of your car for 5 years) my guess would be the drops would still be safe and effective.Addendum: I realize now that my answer is not what most other people answering this question have said. I know of many patients who have used eye drops they have had at home for awhile for an eye condition, and when they bring them in, I can see that some of them have been expired for awhile. I have never seen an adverse reaction to the use of these expired drops. I have never seen an instance where I was sure the expired medications were ineffective if they were being used for the correct indication/medical condition.I would throw out any opened and used medications that have gone beyond their expiration date, and any drops that you may have touched the dropper tip to your fingers or your eye or any surface that could have potentially contaminated the drops, whether or not they have expired. That's just safe/smart.

What will happen if a person accidentally drinks kerosene/petrol/diesel?

My friends and I were on vacation in Pondicherry in March 2016. One night, a friend of mine Hari (name changed) woke up thirsty, grabbed the bottle nearest to him and took a gulp. It was only after Hari had swallowed it did he realise it was petrol. We kept with us a Kinley bottle filled with petrol for our rental bikes. He felt slightly queasy (probably because of the taste) but quickly went back to sleep. The following morning, Hari was experiencing uneasiness, body aches, and nausea. It took him two days and a lot of hydration to get back to normal.Drink lots of water. You want to flush the chemicals out of your system as soon as possible.Visit a hospital, if possible, especially if you have consumed large quantities of petrol.Edit 1: Advice from Hari himself - "Don't panic. You're not gonna die, unless you drank the entire fuel station."

What is the best liquid for cleaning spark plug?

just buy new plugs. theyre cheap. its a waste of time and money to try and clean them.i know some advocate sandblasting, hell, ive tried it myself a few times, but it does leave super fine abrasive embedded all over the electrode and insulator nose…not a terribly nice thing to then install in your engine. some abrasive medias are conductive to boot. if using sandblasters, avoid carborundum/silicon carbides or slag media, use either straight silcon type sand or…damn, i just forgot the name…its basically rubies. oh yeah…garnet!my trick, when ive had a fouled up plug and dont have a spare on hand or its a sunday and i cant buy the suitable plug because the shops are shut, is to pull out the blowtorch.yep, BURNING a plug is the best way to clean it. thats how they are supposed to operate in use…by burning deposits off. if they are leaving any deposits that are darker than a very light tan…use a slightly “cooler” plug next time. it will get hotter and therefore clean itself better under the same conditions. yes, that sounds contradictory, a cooler plug will get hotter? wtf? just go research plug heat ranges and it makes sense.anyways, you just keep heating it until it stops smoking/ is clean. no, you wont damage it. as long as you let it cool naturally rather than try to speed the process up.do NOT USE A WIRE BRUSH. conductive residues on the insulator will only cause problems.and theres no point trying to reclaim a plug that is showing obvious wear on the electrodes. if its dirty and the electrodes are worn…face it, its a consumable item and its been consumed…buy new plug(s)

What happens if you eat vaseline?

Vaseline is nothing but petroleum jelly, a derivative of oil refining process. Its a laxative. In smaller amount, it can help in easy bowel movement and relieve constipation.Since it is a complex hydrocarbon and a byproduct of petroleum refining, its purity matters! Some of the hydrocarbons can be carcinogenic (cancer causing). Read the label to check its grade (for purity) before buying. It is not something our digestive system is familiar with, so if consumed in larger dose, it may hurt our system (digesting complex hydrocarbons is not easy). It does not oxidize on exposure to the air. So chemically, it’s almost inert. This property makes it good to go for topical (skin, hair, eyelashes, lips) usage.

Why my scalp itch after I oil my hairs?

Because you have lot of dandruff on your scalp, dandruff is nothing but sort of bacteria so when you apply oil they get sloppy and your scalp becomes itchy. Actually we dont have the necessity of applying lots of oil, our body is made up in such a way where sebium pores open up and keeps our hair moist. Due to several climatic conditions followed by genetics and diet it varies from person to person. Dry hair, rough hair, oily hair are few of them. Stop applying oil and consult a trichologist. Or else get a dandruff treatment done in any saloons. If you are a guy you can tonsure your head and start fresh. Take proper care and get healthy hair. Natural ways to get rid of dandruff areApply lemon juice on your scalp with your finger tips. You can take someones help if needed. Applying vinegar and curd also works. Make sure you wash your hair within 20 mins because lemon has acidic properties and hairs get a pale look if left for longer duration. Go for natural shampoos which has less chemicals. Good Luck!
