Can Me And My Fiance First Get Married In The Us And Then Another One In The Uk

What UK visa is right for me and my fiance?

I want to join my fiance in the UK (I'm an American Citizen)
as fast as possible.

We both are currently still in the process of meeting the financial requirement, but we are almost there.

Been together over 2 years. Met in person twice, in the UK and in the US. We are both over 18 years of age. No criminal records. No previous issues with immigration. No previous relationships.

I want to join him and be able to live with him for a long time. I've read about the fiance visa, but that only lets you be in the UK for 6 months. I've also read the "family of a settled person" visa which seems the easier route. But also that only allows you to be in the UK for 6 months or more.

But we will get married within 6 months. So then we would be considered a married couple. Could we then apply for indefinite leave to remain? What visa would that be?

Under what circumstances can a man marry another woman, while he technically still  has a wife?

Bigamy is not that uncommon, I know a couple of people who have done it (but I'm not going to name them on a forum).  Some people who migrate to another country have abandoned a spouse in the old country, then, when the years have gone by they just get married again assuming no one will find out about the old marriage.  Getting a marriage legally dissolved is expensive and time consuming, some people just abandon a marriage that has gone bad.     Anyone caught committing bigamy says the same thing "I didn't know my first marriage was legal".  Seriously how can a person be married and not know it?In your story, a person could have a marriage in a small town in some other country, they drift apart then one of them migrates, keeps telling himself/herself that maybe the marriage wasn't registered with the national records, maybe the other person remarried, the other person must have had the marriage legally terminated by now, no one in the new country will find out (people are good at rationalizing their actions).  How's this for a scenario - loving couple goes on vacation gets married in another country (Maldives, Thahiti Fiji).  It seemed so wonderful and romantic at the time.  They don't tell anyone because they want to do the proper church ceremony back home.  Things don't go to plan and the second marriage ceromony doesn't happen and they eventually split up.  As far as all their friends and relatives are concerned, they are still single so it's no big deal.  Years go by and the wedding ceremony seems like a dream.  Sure they got a marriage certificate somewhere (but can't seem to find it), but is it legal? Was that guy authorized to conduct wedding ceremonies and did he bother to register it with the government of that tiny country?  is it recognized in my home counrty?  Did their ex go back to that country and arrange a divorce or anullment already so they could move on?  What's the harm if they don't tell their new love interest about this little secret?  The marriage didn't even seem real, except one day the original spouse comes back and wants to rekindle the romance.

My fiance is a US citizen and a student - can I get a fiancee visa?

My fiance is 18 and a university student, not working. We are engaged and would like to get married in the US (I'm not a US citizen and live abroad). I know of the fiancee visa, which would give me permission to enter the US and marry him but the rules are very confusing and I do not understand if he is even eligible to submit a petition etc. if he is a student and not working. I am working and able to show that I support myself, I have a degree as I am a couple of years older, so there is no risk of me mooching off the government, we just want to be together. If someone could clear up whether or not there are certain requirements on his side that would be extremely helpful (I will also take on all the costs of petition, visa, etc.). Thank you in advance! :)

Is getting married to a US citizen while in the US with a tourist visa legal? And does this automatically make one a citizen?

Marrying an American citizen does not automatically make one a citizen. It is legal for a foreigner to marry an American citizen in the United States. It is illegal to lie or deceive the CBP officer about your intent to get married. It is unlawful to use a tourist visa to get marry a US citizen and apply for a Green Card, and should result result in refusal of entry when the CBP officer is informed. If you wish to marry a US citizen in the United States and leave afterwards, a tourist visa is appropriate (expect to prove that you will depart). If you wish to marry a US citizen in the United States and apply for a Green Card afterwards, you should apply for a K-1 visa.It is possible to marry a US citizen in the United States on a tourist visa and apply for a Green Card thereafter, but it is not correct and is very rarely more advantageous.Update: In the comments, Shaun Starsprung makes some good cases that it may be more advantageous to convert to a Green Card from a tourist visa than to apply for a fiancee visa abroad. YMMV.

I have a Japanese girlfriend and i want to get married?

First you have to get her a K-1 Fiance Visa, whith which she can enter the country. Then you have to marry her, and apply to adjust her status to permanent resident. You must remain married for at least 2 years otherwise she will lose her legal status.
Usually it takes about 6 months to 1 year to adjust status and receive permanent residency.

Can I marry my girlfriend when she comes over to the UK on a visitors visa?

Not on a visitors visa. Absolutely not.Due to the scourge of sham marriages, registrars and clergy must see proof that each person can legally be married in the UK.There are two options:There’s a special visitors visa for getting married if the person does not intend on residing in the UK. Marriage Visitor visaORThe fiance visa, which you say is not in the cards as she won’t be staying. This is essentially the spouse visa but with the added requirement of proof that you will be getting married within 6 months of arrival. This visa is for people who intend on residing in the UK and has a minimum salary of £18,600 that you must earn to sp onsor the fiance/spouse (assuming she has no children that are coming). Family visas: apply, extend or switchA person cannot get married on a regular visitors visa. Nor can they switch to any other visa while in the country on a visitors visa.Because of this no surprise is possible. Unless she arrives on a marriage visitor visa, no marriage can take place.
