My ex will not give me my son's social security number?
My son lives with me 5 days a week 9 months a year. He visits his mother on weekends and weekdays during the summer. I have him roughly 70% of the time. Recently I received papers from the Oregon Justice Dept. regarding child support. She claims I am a dead beat dad and she is the custodial parent. This is all a money thing. She does not seem to want the child nor does he want her. The papers state I must provide paid health insurance. It states she can provide free insurance. If she gets free insurance through the state I am ordered to pay her $150 a month. She does almost nothing financially for him as it is. Her big contribution is around $80 worth of school clothes. She and her boyfriend live rent and bill free at her parents house, they pay for everything. My son and I are kind of left to fend for ourselves. This was fine before the child support papers were delivered to me. Any money I give her literally takes food out of his mouth. So I am ordered to provide insurance for him, yet she will not give me his social security number so I can do so. She wants to keep him on the free state insurance so she can scam easy money from us. She lied to the state about who our son lives with and about her wages in order to claim him on her taxes and get child support for a child that lives with me. Is this fraud? It's really stressing me out because I am a single dad and am just trying to provide for my son.

Yes, he owes me child support. He also owes me ver $2000 in child care costs, not to mention close to $4000 in health care costs. (he was ordered to provide insurance for them, and he did, but the insurance has a $7500 deductable, and it won't pay a dime until it's met. The funniest part? He won't send the girls gifts for chirstmas or birthdays because he says "that what child support's for" Can you say JACK-A**? I know I need to hire an attorney, but without my child support my ultilities are in serious danger of being shut off. I'm hurting BAD!! I just wanted to help to child supprt division find the bastard to make him do what's right....tkae care of his kids.

Can my child receive social security until he's 21 if he's in school?
My ex-husband died when my son was 12. My son then started receiving Survivor's Benefits through Social Security. (He's 16 now) I know his checks will stop when he's 18, but he wants to go to college, and I heard somewhere, that if he's in school, he can continue to receive his S.S. benefits until he's 21. Is this true? And if so, what kind of process would I have to go through to keep the checks coming? That money could really help to buy books, clothes, etc. Thank you in advance for your answers. I'd really appreciate an answer from someone who has been through this, and knows exactly what they're talking about. :)
How can I find out if my ex is receiving disability benefits?
My ex husband told me that he was trying to receive disability from the military as well as because he has cancer. He has not paid child support in the 7 years we have been divorced. I recently find out that he is on welfare and that his church helped him get an apartment. I know that they aren't paying his rent every month nor are they paying his cell phone bill yet he can't send any money nor has he tried to send anything nor see his kids. We live in different states. If he's on welfare, shouldn't the agency know that he has kids and send some of that money to his kids or do you think he claims that he has no kids? How do I find out if he's in fact getting disability so that my kids can get something from him?
