Can Seniors Do The Summer Exchange Student Program After Graduation

What are some summer taiwan programs for high school students?

I am in Chinese 3 right now, but I am learning traditional characters. The jump from Chinese 3 to Chinese 4 is huge at my high school because only native speakers take Chinese 4, and I am not one. I wanted to do a summer program abroad in Taiwan since they write and read in traditional characters there. What programs are available in Taiwan where I could stay there during the summer and develop my language skills?

Do high school seniors that have to go to summer school get a graduation ceremony?

My brother is failing one class and waited too long to ask for help. Now his busting his butt to make deadline but it is now a week before graduation and he still not sure if he's graduating. His teacher said that if he applied himself and finishes his work by graduation day he'll graduate. My concern is that because he's rushing and he has been failing the class all year that he's grade will not be enough and he might have to attend summer school. If he does have to go to summer school and is able to pass will he get a graduation with the other students that did not make it to graduation in June or will they just give him his diploma. My mom is really depressed right now and is praying for a miracle.

Is AID Summer program hard to get in?

if ur talking about the thing where teens n college students teach taiwanese kids english, thats kinda hard to get in.
they rejected me last yr cuz apparantly i lacked leadership quality and crap like that. i dont see how that has anything to do with getting along with kids.
all they want r super nerdy ppl who only care about SAT scores n studying.
o and they prefer college kids over juniors n seniors in high school.

What should I do the summer after I graduate from high school?

As someone who recently lived this, simply traveling or doing a "Eurotrip" is probably not the move I would make for your whole 2 or 3 months off. You definitely want to be having fun as you're still very young, but you can have tons of fun in NYC. If your priorities are right, you'll be able to travel a lot in college itself through study abroad programs and exchanges. Speaking as someone in an extended study abroad program, I can assure you this is a wonderful way to travel while having fun (all under the guise of school, so you're still forced to be productive). You definitely want to be traveling a ton, but this might be even easier in college as a result of cool programs and exchange opportunities.Given all that, I would advise this: get a cool internship at a startup you like in New York City (or somewhere else, but this is probably your best bet given the current climate and kind of internship you'd want). I'm not sure if you're from the city or not, but if you're from nearby this will be the best way to spend time with your high school friends as Marc recommends -- as you know, most kids don't really leave or do anything too exotic for the summer.Because it's pre-college, most kids won't have had a job or internship past filing papers or working at a restaurant. Working on something cool and getting a little bit of apprenticeship/pre-professional experience can therefore be very valuable as you'll understand what it takes to make a business a bit better than your peers. It's also good to have some academic direction in your life before you start school, or you might end up taking the wrong classes/pursuing the wrong major and disenchanting yourself with academics. That's happened to more than a few people I know. Knowing a little bit more about what you want to study or do after you graduate is never bad preparation for college, in which most people have absolutely no idea what they're really doing (you'll see what I mean :)Anyways, definitely try to travel and have a bunch of fun with your good high school friends. That's really the most important thing. Summers without any real commitments are amazing.

Are there any good summer science research programs for international high school students apart from RSI?

High School Honors Science Program is a 7 week summer research program at Michigan State University. The HSHSP provides its participants with a unique opportunity to “live and breathe” research in a university environment. Its goals are not only to educate individuals about the research process but to provide the right kind of social context for such knowledge and expertise to flourish. Our goal is not to produce award-winning projects (which often happens, I am pleased to note), but to provide opportunities to enrich one’s knowledge about intellectual work in science and mathematics and to make new and, hopefully, lasting friendships. The Summer Science Program is another one.SSP is an immersion into experimental science, designed to challenge and inspire talented rising seniors from around the world. Working in teams of three, participants complete a research project from beginning to end: either in Astrophysics – near-earth asteroid imaging and orbit determination – or (new in 2017) Biochemistry – fungal enzyme inhibition and drug discovery. Each team acquires its own original data and performs its own analysis. Field trips and guest speakers round out an intense 39-day schedule. The experience changes their lives, and the benefits continue for life.Welcome to The Clark Scholars ProgramThe Clark Scholar Program is an intensive seven week summer research program for highly qualified high school juniors and seniors.and another tidbit-The Clark Scholars Program is designed to attract gifted students from around the nation. The program allows students the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with outstanding faculty in a research intensive setting. The seven-week program also includes weekly seminars, discussions, and field tripsThere’s a list of lots of other great science summer research programs here: Juniors: MIT and other summer programs | MIT Admissions. College Confidential has a bunch of thread on Summer Programs but not all of them are research. Of course, you can always ask a professor at your local community college or state university if you can do research with them (but you’d need to be especially outstanding and prove yourself useful for the professor to take you under their wing). In fact, the brother of a friend of mine is a sophomore and he spends part of his school day working with a professor at our state university.Best of luck, hope this helps!

Are there summer programs at Princeton University for high school students?

There are many sports camps, and Princeton hosts several corporate academic camps (e.g. iD Tech), as well as non-profit-sponsored programs (e.g. SIG and CTY)In my department, there is a program in theoretical computer science topics offered each summer: PACT.

Can a final year student participate in Google Summer of Code?

Depends majorly on the acceptance date and your graduation (degree completion) date.Google officially states thatThe Student must be enrolled in or accepted into an accredited institution, including a college, university, masters program, PhD program and/or undergraduate program, as of the Acceptance DateWhile you may be aware of your institute’s official graduation date, what you don’t know is GSoC’s timeline for the next year.Last year (2016) the acceptance date was 22 April, which was a pretty comfortable date for most final year students. Graduation dates usually fall in the month of May or June. This year (2017) the acceptance date was 4 May, which was pretty close to our institute’s scheduled graduation date which was on the 5th or 8th of May.If your graduation date falls before (earlier) than the acceptance date , then you can’t participate. Google declares the program timeline in the month of October. So until 10th of October you have no way to confirm your eligibility.Another thing, is the proof of enrolment. Your proof of enrolment (in my case my institute identity card) has an expiry date/ date till which the card is valid. Since most institutes don’t have a fixed date for graduation, they tend to mention the expiry date in the form of month, year. In my case it was June, 2019.So if you want my opinion anything which is after the second week in the month of May will do the job. The program won’t get delayed any further than that. Otherwise it would be renamed to Google Monsoon of Code or for countries with no proper rainy seasons Google Fall of Code (bad joke. I know.)Peace! This answer is for general informational purposes only. The Google Summer of Code program is organised by Google. Google reserves the right to change the program timeline as well as rules of eligibility as per their discretion.
