Can Somebody Check My Answers If They Are Correct

Is it correct if you say thank you for checking up on me?

Absolutely. Showing appreciation for the appropriate concern is a good thing. Folks checking up just because they are overly concerned without cause can be tiresome, but when concern is warranted, thanks are in order. Sometimes, it is a balancing act. I called an acquaintance of mine that I’d not heard from nor seen on Facebook for a while. Conversation started just that way and then I added, is everything okay? She thanked me for calling and explained that she had had first some computer problems and then some other stuff and so on and so forth, but all was cool now. But the one thing she said that is salient to this discussion was “Thank you so much for calling. It’s nice to know someone is looking out for me.” No problem.

Can somebody check my answers and tell me if I'm right?

These are some questions I had to answer for a chem handout. If I'm wrong, please explain why and how to fix it.

Combine the following ions to make neutral compounds:

Al (3+) and NO3 (-) = AlNO3
NH4 (+) and SO4 (2-) = (NH4)2SO4
Ca(2+) and PO4(3-) = (Ca)2(PO4)2

Combine the following elements into neutral compounds:

zinc and phosphorous - Zn3P2
silver and oxygen - Ag2O
aluminum and sulfur - Al2S3

Classify the following compounds as being covalent or ionic:

CaSO4: ionic
NH4Br: ionic
SF6: covalent
HCl: ionic
Fe2O3: ionic
SiO2: ionic
H2O: ionic
CO2: covalent
Al(HCO3)3: covalent
NH3: covalent
C6H12O6: covalent
BCl: ionic
PbI4:ionic
CfOCl: ionic
KOH: ionic

Sorry that its so long! Thanks!

Can somebody check my math answers to see if they're right and done correctly?

ok. i just finished this section (its pretty easy but you have to have an open mind) :D
ok you did #7 totally wrong (its ok everyone makes mistakes) its
50-18=x
then you subtract thoes and it should equal 32 mi/h

#8 is 56.8+1.3=x
so it would be if you added them together is 58.1 seconds

#9 is x + 18= 25
you minus 18 on both sides and you should get x= 7 degrees C

and last but not least

#10 is x- 11 = 17
you add 11 to both sides and you shoudl get x = 28 degrees at 4 PM

i hope this helps you a whole bunch..it sure gave me something to do :D

Can somebody please check my answers? ?

1) Concentrated hydrochloric acid is 12 M. Calculate the mass of HCL in 10mL of this solution.

my answer: 0.12 moles of HCL or 4.37846g of HCL

2) What mass of barium sulfate forms when 30.0 mL of .150 M solution of barium hydroxide reacts with excess sulfuric acid?

my answer:
0.0045 moles Ba(OH)2
0.0045 moles BaSO4
1.0503 g BaSO4

3) What mass of lead (II) hydroxide forms when 25.0 mL of 0.20 M solution of lead(II) acetate with 25.0 mL of 0.2M sodium hydroxide? What is the molarity of sodium acetate in the mixed solution?

my answer:
.005 moles of Pb(C2H3O2)2
NaOH is the limiting reagent
.005 moles of Pb(OH)2
1.20608g of Pb(OH)2
.01 moles of NaCH3COO
.01moles of NaCH3COO/50ml = .0002 M of NaCH3COO

thanks a lot guys

Basic geology questions...can someone check my answers?

1. Your dip symbols are incorrectly orientated. The strike line should parallel the bedding plane on the surface, and dip toward the syncline axis (central axis of the three axes) and away from the anticlinal axis. In the fold nose, the dip direction will be parallel to the fold axis and down plunge (the arrow shown on the end of the axis line), and the strike will be at right angles to the axis.

2. Map A is a dome - therefore the rocks dip radially away from the centre. The oldest rocks will therefore be in the centre of the exposed dome. You have everything in reverse. Note the attitude of the cliff-forming unit surrounding the central hill - it dips radially away from the hill.
Map B is the opposite to A - a basinal structure. All bedding dips radially towards the centre, and therefore the rocks in the core are the youngest - you have that shown correctly!

3. A - horizontal strata, with the oldest rocks shown cotrrectly! Use a horizontal dip symbol for these rocks - it looks like a circle with a cross in the centre (check it here: http://pubs.usgs.gov/of/1999/of99-430/of...
B - inclined strata, relative ages shown correctly, dip symbols correct, although the symbol on 5 is missing the dip direction.
C - vertical strata - you can't tell the relative ages without younging indicators in the rocks (graded bedding, scour structures, or other diagnostic bedforms). The symbol to depict vertical bedding is a cross, with a long axis for strike, and a short axis crossing it. See the link recommended above for the symbol.

4. As the beds are vertical, we don't know which direction they have been tilted from, so can't determine which are the youngest or oldest. To determine the relative ages, you would have to refer to these rocks where they are not vertically tilted, or use fossil or radiometric evidence, or use younging indicators in the rocks to determine which is the top and which is the base of individual beds.

Hope this is of help!

Can somebody please check this? (Blanancing Chemical Reactions)?

If you can, just check to see if everything is written correctly and properly balanced, and that the names correspond to the problems.

Someone told me they can’t leave comments on my answers. If this is true, how can I change it?

There are four possibilities that could prevent someone commenting on an answer. Three of them are “features” and two of these three can be changed under your Quora account settings. You may have blocked the person in question. If they are blocked you’ll see this on the person’s profile page and on your “Blocked and Muted” page in Settings (Fig. 1); you can unblock from either location. You might have turned off all comments on your content. You can toggle this under your “Privacy” page in Settings (Figs. 2A, 2B).You might have turned comments off on the particular answer. Comments can be disabled on an answer or post using the three-dot menu (Fig. 3).It could always be a bug or glitch, if the first three possibilities have been ruled out. You can report a bug here.Fig. 1.Fig. 2AFig. 2BFig. 3.

What if I put Rs. 500 in my chemistry answer sheet in a board examination?

When I was in class XI, our chemistry teacher was briefing us about the type of question paper that used to come in the board, then all of a sudden she started smiling. When asked about the reason, she decided to tell us as it was our free period (time when the whole syllabus was complete). She told us-“It was way back in 2007, when I was checking the board copies, amongst the whole lot, the next answer sheet that I picked up was light weighted and contained no extra sheets. Initially I was surprised but had a hope that the child must have written that much that she /he scored passing marks .”“I opened the answer sheet and wooo!! Blank sheet, further filled by the lyrics of Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You and a crisp Rs 500 note giving the excuse that stated “Respected Ma'am/Sir, as I was busy with my sister's wedding I was unable to study for the exam, I request you to kindly grant me passing marks” and I was rolling on the floor laughing!”Then what? The whole group of teachers ordered samosas and chai and needless to say, the child failed.
