Can Someone Ban Your Account By Calling Sony

What is a banned gaming console?

This refers to modern consoles such as the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4. When they are connected to Xbox Live or PlayStation Network, Microsoft and Sony can identify an individual console by a unique ID that is tied to each console. If the user of the console violates certain policies, which include things like cheating in online games, modifying platform or game software, physically modifying the hardware, or other kinds of violations, which can be detected in various ways, Microsoft or Sony may choose to ban the console from using some or all of the features of Xbox Live or PlayStation Network. This ban is applied to the console itself, and thus any user attempting to use the console (whether that user is the one who committed the violations or not) will not be able to connect to the network to play online multiplayer games, send messages, etc. The console can still be used to play games in offline mode (such as a single player game).Microsoft and Sony do this to discourage policy violations and to prevent repeated violations. Microsoft and Sony can ban individual user accounts too, separate from the console, but if they only did this, then a malicious user could simply register new accounts. By banning the console, they make it inconvenient and expensive for a malicious user to repeatedly commit the violations. If you are buying a used console, you should make sure that it is not banned. If you have the opportunity to, you should attempt to use the console to play an online multiplayer game before you buy it. If this is not possible, then you should only buy the used console from a place where you can return it if you find out that it is banned or buy it from a person you trust.Alternatively, if you choose to knowingly buy a banned console, be aware that you will only be able to use it to play single player games in offline mode, and you may not even be able to register Achievements/Trophies or download updates.

Can someone hack your ps3 account just by adding them?

No, your PS3 cannot be 'hacked" by some snot-nosed kid just because you added them.A PS3 cannot even be truly "hacked". This is how a PS3 gets "hacked"...

1) Fool #1 gets on a message board (like Y!A) and offers to gameshare games X,Y,and Z (and sometimes posts their Sony ID) to complete strangers.

2) Fool #2 agrees but demands to go first. So Fool #1 gives Fool #2 his login ID and password and and Fool #1 is shocked to find his password quickly changed.

3) Fool #1 gets on the same message board as before and whines about his account being "hacked" but in actuality he was dumb enough to give out his login info. On said message board he is told to call Sony.

4) Fool #1 then calls Sony and they make sure its his account by getting his Serial Number on the PS3 and other info. Sony then gives Fool #1 his account back. Then Sony bans Fool #2. (And he thought he was being clever)

5) Fool #1 finds many things charged to his Credit Card by Fool #2 when the statement comes and whines more.

The End

If I create a PSN/4 account that has a false date of birth, will I get banned?

No.There are so many people creating accounts, Sony doesn't really do anything if you use a fake DOB. People under 18 do it all the time to buy games r rated and higher and nothing is done about this.Sony has implemented the age check box and that is the bare legal minimum and is good enough for them. Create that account if you like but if you are under 18 then you will likely get told off more by your parents/guardians than you will by Sony.

How does Sony catch you gameshareing?

Hi Amado:

You may not have realized it, but you posted in the wrong Y!A Category. This is "Camcorders", not "Video & Online Games" or "Playstation" sub-category (where you've posted before).

Occasionally the Y!A site "wizard" suggests a Category based on keywords in your post, so you may have clicked the default suggestion that was based on "Sony", since we talk a lot about Sony camcorders here.

Feel free to re-post in the correct area for quicker/better responses.

As far as Sony's PSN catching un-authorized copies of PSN downloads on other consoles, the technology is fairly simple to check-up on whether a console is associated with the account that downloaded the PSN content/game. (IP addresses, console electronic serial #, DRM tags hidden in the software, etc.). Sony was one of the main proponents of DRM (digital rights management) and they know "all the tricks in the book" to prevent unwanted copying.

Plain & simple: game-sharing is copyright violation, just like stealing software games off a shelf. Don't do it and you won't get banned. And don't expect Sony customer support to help get your account back if they suspect you of Terms of Service/User Agreement violations in the past or future.

hope this helps,

Can I download a game to ps4 from my friend's account and play? What should I need to know before doingit? Can I get banned from psn? Can I play it from my account after downloading?

I will try give a understanding here:PS4 A - yours (in your house)PS4 B - friend's (in his/her house)You, log in PS4 A, but PS4 A is not your primary device. This means, you can play your games bought from PSN, as long as you log in as this account. You, then log in PS4 B, your friends, and activate his/her PS4 as your primary. This means, he/she now can play your PSN games you bought from his/her account. When you go back to your house, and you log in again in PS4 A, your account in PS4 B won't be deleted, but will be logged out from PS4 B. Your friend still can play your PSN games (because primary account PS4 can access all master's library). There's a real drawback here for you because you activate your primary PS4 in PS4 B: You can't download games by using computer to your PS4 A (trigger remote download) because you claim that your PS4 is PS4 B. This will instead causing PS4 B download the game you buy, not the PS4 A.Your PS+ auto-upload features (only auto-upload) can't be activated in PS4 A, because your "designated primary PS4" is PS4 B. You still can manually upload your save data to cloud storage from PS4 A, but this is a hassle. Then there you go if you want to "share" your games with your friend.

PS3 Banned. Wondering If Possible To Bring Back?

I just got a 320gb(VERY EXPENSIVE) ps3 for christmas.About a week ago i wanted to see what jailbreak was like. So i seached and searched and finally found one. I WAS NOT AT ALL intended to get free games or any sort of piracy from it. And even if i wanted to. It would be impossible because my version is so up to date that there is not a jailbreak for that version that has hacks or programs. Today i tryed signing on and i got an error. i googled awhile and finnally found out that my whole ps3 console was banned :( All i did was have the firmware installed. I will be in deep trouble if my os3 is ruined. I was wobdering if i could bring it back.on warranty and then give me another. I REAALLLY HOPE that t
it is possible to bring it back. Can somebody please tell.me if it is possible. thank you :(
BTW. IM WONDERING IF IT IS POSSIBLE AFYER I RESET THE PS3 TO FACTORY DEFAULTS AND FIRMWARE
