BUGS IN MY HAMSTER FOOD, URGENT!?
Okay, I'm taking care of my grandmother's hamster, as she is not here at the moment. A while ago, I found a bug in his food container. I squished it. But, a few minutes ago, I was about to feed him, and upon opening the container, was greeted by HUNDREDS of black-ish, grey-ish bugs resembling miniature stag beetles or weevils or something. I immediately closed the container and discarded it. But those bugs must have been there forever, without me noticing, and I must have fed them to the hamster. In fact, the hamster has been scratching himself to hell since a few months ago. I cleaned out the cage, but the hamster is currently in a cardboard box. I am very concerned, as I already saw a bug crawling on him and he's, as I said, been scratching himself silly. Plus, he's a bit aggressive, so I can't really hold him and try to remove them. The food brand was Hartz, by the way. I am also extremely concerned about his bedding, because perhaps there are some in there, too.
