Can Someone Give Me Things To Right An Essay On Nothing Inappropriate.

Inappropriate tone in writing?

The way you need to write things is context and target audience-dependent; in other words it is essential to conform to academic and commercial niceties when you are at college or at work.

1.The chicken was roasted and left bacteria-tauntingly warm.

The chicken was roasted but not allowed to cool in accordance with standard food hygiene procedures.

2.When I saw your ad, I said: ‘Hey! That’s my job!’
That's too familiar in a commercial context.
'When I saw you ad, I thought now this is a job I could do well'.

3.Judging from my career so far, I believe that I should get this job.
Not sufficiently formal in an interview situation.
'I feel that my career progression and expereince qualifies me to do this job well'

4.Can you just chuck me into a Tuesday night tutorial, PLEASE?
Much too familiar in a academic setting.
'Could you put me on the the Tuesday Night tutorial list please.'

5.Some companies make artificial yoghurt to fool customers.
This depends very much on the context. If it is in the news media then it may be OK. In an academic sensse it would need to be something like:

There is evidence to show that customers are unknowingly purchasing artificial youhurt from certain companies.

Would it be inappropriate to refer to something in a holy book as a myth in an essay? (E.g. saying "an allusion to the Christian myth about Satan's fall.")

No, not at all. And I say that as a Christian who actually believes those myths. Granted, some of them have either lost a bit in translation or have a veil of historical obscurity over them, but most historians would agree that many, if not most, myths are based on actual people and events. Merriam-Webster defines myth as “a usually traditional story of ostensibly historical events that serves to unfold part of the world view of a people or explain a practice, belief, or natural phenomenon.”Definition of MYTH (see Definition of OSTENSIBLE) Ostensible isn’t a negative word; it doesn’t mean “not true” or even “doubtful.”I would only be careful to use it in reference to things that are a bit more potentially historically factual or plausible. The one you describe, “the myth of Satan’s Fall”, or something like “the Garden of Eden myth”, would be fine. I wouldn’t personally apply it to, say, Abraham or Jonah. Those are best (in my opinion) described as simply “stories.” You might also run into greater resistance and difficulty in referring to something of supreme importance as a myth. I wouldn’t suggest saying, “the myth of the resurrection of Jesus.” Again, I would just suggest, “In the story of Jesus’ resurrection…”Regardless, I sincerely appreciate the question. It demonstrates that you have an admirable sense of respect that is easily laid aside by too many people these days.

Did my Dad inappropriately touch me? Help Please?

My dad and me have never had a real relationship. In fact we dont talk to each other. Im not close to him because of his violent abusive temper, I always stood away from him. He has suspicions abuot me being sexually active because he found some condoms ( he was searching my room when I was gone ). When I came home yesterday he sat me down and forced me into answering this really explicit sexual questions; such as have you ever masturbated? have you ever had sex? have you ever got wet down there? and many other things. I WAS AFRAID AND EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE. I lied and said the condoms were because I was holding them for a friend that didnt want her parents too catch it with her. I told him I was non sexual not attracted to girls or boys and I had a low sex drive, he then felt so happy really creepy and said I just want to hug you and love you and he then began to hold me squeezing me, then asked can I kiss you on the lips? and he did, I feel shocked, ashamed, disgusted and I dont ..

When someone says your writing lacked substance do they mean that you didn't write enough?

I agree with others that it usually means lack of depth or import. Here's an example: let's say I'm writing about how to be happy...There's so much sadness in the world. We need to find the joy in our lives. Too many of us wallow in misery when we should be reveling in this beautiful world. So don't dwell on the bad stuff! Think positive! What have I actually said there? That too many people are too often sad, and that they think sad thoughts instead of happy ones? Well, as Queen Victoria said to the chimney sweep, "No, duh!" When our thoughts are dark, we should try to make them merry? Okay, but that's just a restatement of the problem. How can we get rid of the bad thoughts and focus on the good ones? Riddle me that, Batman! Instead of giving readers anything surprising, challenging, entertaining, or useful to chew on, I've fobbed them off with five sentences that are writerly equivalent of styrofoam peanuts. Readers dig through the box, tossing packaging onto the floor, looking for the actual contents, and find ... nothing. It's not a matter of length. Tell it to me long; tell it to me short; just tell me something I didn't know!

I feel really bad/guilty about lying in a personal essay for english...?

Hi. Am sorry about your mom... Anyway, of course I think anyone open to situations like yours could understand your predicament. I'm not saying that it's something to be proud of, but what happened was out of your control. While you're feeling embarrassed about it, in disclosing that to public is your option. However, since it was a personal essay, you could have stated the truth, or just wrote that you don't want to elaborate on the cause of her death. Am not so sure if that the essay will be for your professor's use, or for the entire class. Maybe, you could have mentioned that it's confidential?

Anyway, to lie is another thing... that's why you're feeling guilty... I suggest you talk to your teacher or professor about it and tell the truth. You could have it revised too. I know it's not easy to do, but I think that's the best way to clear up what you're feeling now.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Gf hanging alone with another guy?

I do not agree that this issue is overreacting at all. Yes it is possible to have opposite sex as best friends but at the same time there are people that develop feelings for those friends. Lets just say it is not certain what can happen in the future of course because nothing really is.
She disrespected you just cause you told her how you feel. I find that too strong of a response from her over just a friend so i would question her motives. There are people who want to get to know someone else on the side claiming its friendship until they find out who is better for them while at the same time they get to keep the person they were with in the first place. I found this out from many people i have met its a clever scheme. However i can also be wrong because i do not personally know her so you need to be careful how you question her but you want to find out the truth after all. If she is freaking out about everything you openly talk to her about then she is not someone you will have a healthy relationship with in the future so you might as well finish it.
Be clever and of course you cannot deny your feelings if something hurts you there is nothing that will change that. If she does not stop then you need to decide do you always wanna carry that around while with her just because of her.. Because let me tell you there are people out there that agree with same things as you so you might as well go for someone like that instead of struggle with someone who doesnt.
Good luck
let me know how it goes :)
