Mr. Golawski has also completed [insert # of courses] water safety courses and worked seasonally each year from 2006 to 2016.Please see the reverse side for detailed information on previous employment and completed courses.EXPLANATION: When an acronym is provided for the full name of a company or organization, the letters are provided in parentheses with quotation marks to indicate the company will thereafter be referred to using said acronym. The term “open-water lifeguard” is hyphenated, because, since his specialization can’t be called an “open lifeguard,” the word “open” is needed to describe what kind of “water” and together they describe what kind of lifeguard. The remaining changes address the need for connecting words: “each year from,” and “the reverse side.” Also, the unnecessary “on the whole” has been eliminated and the incorrect “previously” has been replaced by its correct form, “previous.” And the phrase, “since. . .2006,” was moved to a better place in the sentence and set apart by a pair of commas. The incorrect “completed few another courses” could also be corrected to read: “completed additional courses.”The last line could also read: “Please see the reverse side [the enclosed resume] for more detailed information.” Or, “For more information, please consult the enclosed resume.”

How can I become better at spelling and using grammar?

There are many Australians out there that are having the same problem. Some can't read, write, or just have poor grammar/spelling skills, like yourself. But don't worry, there are a lot of things you can do!

The easiest would probably be calling 1300 655 506. It's the Reading and Writing Hotline (Australia), and I think it's worth a shot. They can provide you with a lot of support and learning programs.

The next thing you could do is probably just read. While you're reading, you can note the way authors spell their words, and their use of grammar and punctuation. Trust me, this is how most people learn to use punctuation and grammar correctly and spell words.

You could also try buying an English workbook. Many good bookstores sell textbooks which can help you take up your English lessons again. If you want something easier than an 'adult' textbook, then you could try a primary/high school grammar workbook. They're fairly cheap and they'll explain grammar skills thoroughly.

Good luck!

Why does Quora tell you to check your spelling, grammar or punctuation when they dislike your question? While I am certainly not a moderator, I think that a well-written question that is clear and grammatically correct is more likely to obtain more responses than one that isn’t clear. However, one person who wasn’t an OP started bullying me when I asked someone to re-word his /her question. The OP didn’t seem to mind, but the person kept dogging me through comment after comment. I finally managed to block the person, who was getting nastier by the comment. Please take the time to write a well-thought-out question. If I don’t understand someone’s question, I am not going to bother with it.BTW, I also don’t respond to questions about apps that I don’t use.

How can I catch my grammar and spelling mistakes?

It is my experience that nobody’s work is error-free all the time. Most of us goof up sometime or the other. Sometimes, it is because we may not be fully attentive while writing, while at other times, typos occur because we are typing too fast. That said, yes, there are simple ways to catch major errors. If you are using MS Word or a similar software, it automatically highlights typos and grammar mistakes. But you need to be wary of this because this does not catch homonyms or homophones, and sometimes shows grammar errors when there are none. But this works for catching major spelling errors. One ongoing thing you need to do is read a lot on a daily basis. I would recommend BBC News and the Guardian websites as their language standards are good.It would also help if you learnt basic rules of English grammar, such as using a capital letter after a full stop and inserting a space after any punctuation mark, etc.
