How to describe a setting at a school dance?

As I reentered the dimly lit gym, overly decorated with chinese lanterns and christmas lights, I sighed. School dances were never the setting for me, and besides, nobody danced. All the little cliques separated in their own huddles excitedly whispering about one thing or another. Not really sure of what clique I belonged to, I covered my ears from the blaring techno. And finally, it was time for the last song of the evening. A shimmer of glitter danced from the ceiling, illuminated by the disco ball. A hush came over the huge high school crowd and a slow song came over the speakers. I grumbled. This was no way to spend prom night. And I'd actually thought someone might ask me to dance. The song was almost over and I sat by the punch bowl, envying all the girls dancing, when I saw Sean, a boy I barely knew yet had several classes with, approaching. "Wanna dance?" He asked nervously. I just nodded, stunned that someone had actually asked me to dance. His eyes were blue, and though I didn't know his last name, I knew he was the one.

Sorry this is sorta cheesy and not at all like anything I'd write! But hopefully I've inspired you! good luck :)

Can someone help me describe a cave ?

I'm not a writer, though perhaps these words may give you a spark...

Loomy, dark, damp, moisture, deep, cold, bitter, suspenseful, hard, isolating, lonesomeness, gloom, blinding, bland, echoes, ricochets, scatter, entrancing.....

An example of what kind of descriptions i am looking for = 'One end of the barn was piled high with new hay which descended down like a mountain slope'

Describe your high school life/experience. How was it?

THE SCHOOL LIFE IS ONE OF THE HAPPIEST TIMES I EVER HAD.It was really a wonderful experience. I had many friends who were always there for me.Our friends group was used to be the most notorious one.But we never abandoned our studies.Due to my father’s job I used to travel a lot.I’ve done my primary education, secondary education and high school education from different places. But every time when I go to a new place I was always welcomed by(almost)everyone. When I was in high school I had a very wonderful time thanks to my friends and friendly teachers. When I was a high schooler I used to date guys A LOT.lol.But that does not mean that everything was good. When I entered high school I use to cry a lot. At first I barely knew anyone. I was considered as an outsider for a few weeks. Sometimes I was humiliated by students.AND when I was about to give up on studying in that school I got the support of a person who is very dear to me. Slowly I started to get closer with him and then many students came out and started to support me.And now I have so many friends which are irreplaceable to me.And we are still in touch. In short my high school life was full of spice and fun. I had many ups and downs but if you ask me to describe it in one sentence then it will be “it was an experience which taught me many lessons which is useful throughout the life.”

How do I describe a french cafe?

We have a project at school and we have to write an essay about a 19-20th century french cafe and how it looks like from the inside. I mean, we have to write like: we went inside the cafe and there was that and that and that. Could someone describe it a little? Because i have never been to one in France.
Thank you

What is the feeling after helping someone?

2:57 am – My friend calls me up and says that his whole life is shattered and he is going to suicide. Imagine what I felt at that!3:00 am – I am consoling him and saying positive things. I tell him to come to school tomorrow. We will talk about this tomorrow. I was feeling very sleepy. He said something inaudible and hung up. My heart was beating very fast. I didn’t know if he really meant what he said. I called him but he wasn’t picking up the phone. I called him 15 times but he didn’t pick up. I knew something was wrong. I cursed myself.4:00 am – I try one last time to call him. He picks up. I felt relieved.“Please don’t do this, Arnab. Think about the good times we had together. Believe me there are more good things coming your way.”“Don’t tell me stupid things! I won’t come to school tomorrow! I am going to kill myself right now!”“Please, for me. Just come tomorrow. I have something to tell you”I don’t know how I did it, but I persuaded him to stop harming himself and come to school tomorrow.I talked about a lot of things with him that day in school and tried to make him feel better. I think it worked because I saw him smiling more that day and overall, he looked happier.I told him to come to football practice that day in the afternoon after school. He came and he played very well. He told me, “I feel a lot better, thanks to you”, and then he broke down. I couldn’t keep holding my tears too. We hugged each other and I told him he could always trust me and I will always help him. That night, we talked a lot. He was the livelier and talkative one. I felt very happy for him.So, what was my feeling after helping someone?I felt indescribable happiness. I felt so happy that I could stop my friend from harming himself that day. I don’t know what would’ve happened if I didn’t pick up his late-night call that day. I was glad I could help him see the positive side of life.

Describe college please?

Well, I've matriculated to several > community colleges & large universities. So, you should first realize everyone's experience is different.

Some college/universities will require you live on campus for the first year or two in student housing called dormitories > or dorms for short. Some are co-ed, some are for jocks, some are for those serious in their studies > so choose wisely. The dorms also provide you with a meal plan > depending on how often you consume your calories there, will determine the price. You can also choose to eat the fast food that's usually just off the campus, & some will deliver for a fee.

You will usually take 15 credits a semester > there are Fall & Winter semesters at most here in the States. Not sure about other places. The tri-semesters are also used at some schools > try to avoid those as I think the books cost more if you have to buy 3 sets vs. 2. And books can cost $100 or more > try & find used for a bit less.

This will be the first time you live a life that is free from parental constraints. Your professors will have class policies on attendance, outside reading, testing & assignments. If you follow these guidelines, sometimes referred to a syllabus, you should do OK > providing you're not lazy & can discipline yourself.

If you need part time work, student placing will be able to assit you. You'll most likely need 120 semester hours to earn a bachelor's degree. Some programs may require more.

By your 3rd year, you will start to concentrate on your major > that is the course of study you will earn your degree in.

There's a lot more to college & you could visit one. They often provide tours & will fill you in on a lot more. Just call the Admission's Dept & ask when prospective students can take the tour.

It's a great experience > just make sure you're going for the right reasons.
