Can Someone Help Me Get Started With My Unsere Lieblinge 48 Harmonica

How much are Hohner tremolo song harmonica's worth?

As noted, harmonicas don't go up in value with age like a violin does. Most are unplayable and only have value as collector pieces. A brand new Hohner tremolo or octav harp can be had from about $15 to several hundred depending on the model. Most are under $100 and many are under $50.

Until the 70's the Echo Vamper was as popular in Europe as the Marine Band was in the US. It's just really-really common so collectors have no trouble finding exceptionally good examples. That model is the present Marine Band 364 with cover plates for the British market according to the Hohner catalog.

That Unsere Lieblinge (it means "our favorite") isn't worth too much used by itself but if the box is in excellent condition and it can be dated then they sometimes have a solid value because of the pre-war art deco artwork on the box. There are five models of that harp with 24, 28, 32, 40, and 48 holes. A brand new one (it's still made) is 38-50 pounds. They're hard to find new in the US. They're also very good harmonicas (it's an octave, not a tremolo) with a nice wooden combed tone you just can't get from the Comet. In playing condition they sell used in the US pretty well.

As collectors their value depends entirely on what condition they're in. But even in pristine "mint in box" condition they won't be as high as is a brand new one unless it's a particularly rare model example.

When you're looking on eBay for prices, be sure to look at closed auctions. Some of the prices people think they'll get for a used old harmonica will never be seen.

I want to start learning a mouth organ (Harmonica). Can someone suggest how difficult it is & also suggest any good brand & model for beginners?

First of all I would like to welcome you the jamming club, as  it would be your first step when you would be experience the inner beauty of music. Harmonica changed me completely by filling all my vacuums and bringing the much needed peace. I would be answering based on the fact that you are interested in knowing about diatonic type of harmonica and not chromatic as chromatic is altogether a different game.Answering the first part viz. how difficult it is ?Not at all difficult !! I am the kind of person who has minimal knowledge of any kind of musical concept and was neither interested in learning those typical musical symbols. But I really wanted to learn one instrument so I started my search and bingo destiny introduced me to this beautiful German invention the Harmonica. Although it is challenging initially and bit frustrating, but remember one thing whenever this feeling of running away comes to you mind, just fight to stand there for some more time and you will survive and come out as winner. There are two major challenges that a beginner faces while playing harmonica, one is single hole blow and other is locating the hole number . Just fight to pass this phase, don't get frustrated if you are not able to make desirable sound, just give some tough fight to that tiny instrument and you will the final ultimate achiever and that instrument your best friend.Coming on to next part the brand and model If you are you are beginner and really thinking of being with it for long time then don't go for any cheap models. The best in the market at present and which I also use is Hohner Special 20 Key C Diatonic type of Harmonica. Please it's a request don't go for any other key except Key C as most of the video tutorials and tabs are available for key C only. Special 20 is one the cheapest and most authentic model available in the market and would give you the feeling of pro.  For where to learn I would suggest to first google a bit to first understand the mechanism and some physics behind the working of the instrument. It will make you accustomed with the instrument. Next you can refer to videos by Adam Gussow. He is true delight to watch and learn from, at the same time you can visit Welcome to Harptabs.com - HarpTabs.com to know the tabs of some mind blowing songs.

I need some sayings or song lyrics?

What do you think of Rolling Stone Magazine's "100 Greatest Songs of All Time"?

Any GREATEST SONGS LIST that has Dylan, The Stones, & Lennon in the top three spots, no Elvis in the top 5 (or ten), and TOTALLY SNUBS Country Music altogether (remember it says 100 greatest period, not 100 greatest in rock only) has absolutely no credibility.
Neither does a list that contains Nirvana or the Sex Pistols. Nor does a list that has absolutely no songs by arguably the greatest songwriter of the 20th Century, Hank Williams. Only artists that belong in the top 10 are The Beach Boys & they're not even there with their best song

The only reason Rolling Stone put that utterly lack luster song @1 is because its the name of their mag! I can think of 500 songs that are better.

EDIT Sorry ONE Country song @ 85, anyone who puts Patsy Cline beneath 95% of these people is seriously disturbed

How can I play flat or sharp notes on a tremolo harmonica which has 24 holes?

I play (and sell) tremolo harmonicas, as well as all other types.Dan is spot on. If we want to play sharps and flats on a tremolo harmonica we really need a harmonica in a key other than C. Preferably (when getting started) in the same key as the tune we wish to play, if it is in a major key.The correct harmonica key to use for a minor key is a bit tricker and depends on the ‘position’ we want to use. Finding out about how the “Circle of Fifths” applies to harmonica positions will really help. How many different keys will we need? Well that depends on what we want to play. However, if it’s any guide, if I’m going to play folk music on tremolo harmonicas at a session where I don’t know for sure what they’ll be playing I usually take six (A, C, D, G, Am, Dm). This certainly won’t cover everything that comes up but it will get me by on the majority of tunes I know well enough to avoid embarrassment. These days the facebook harmonica discussion groups are a marvellous free resource for finding out pretty well all there is to know about harmonicas. Well worth checking out.Good luck with your harmonica journey. I hope you find as much joy with yours as I have with mine.

Why do you underestimate yourself?

We happen to understimate ourselves when we start comparing ourselves to someone or something bigger or larger than us.Mostly it's the illusion and it's only in our heads that that thing is larger than us.Now coming back to how to tackle such a situation, first you need to come face to face to the problem or the factor that makes you feel less. Acknowledge it and accept it's existence. Now start breaking it down.Identify why you're feeling less? Is it because of the low self esteem of yours or the goal is too big?If the identity is low then work on yourself. You really need to work a lot on yourself then. Go over to my blog (link in bio.) to know how you can increase your confidence. If the goal is too bigger or seems too big then simply break it down into manageable actionable steps.See, in life, nothing is easy.A takeaway for you :-What's difficult is worth it. Because in it sleeps your biggest growth. So work on yourself and make yourself proud!

How can we tell if our cats are in pain?

GEE! This IS a tough one to answer, in a way for many to comprehend! The most frequent and noteworthy behavioral-differences in the numerous cats I’ve (or my family has) owned is:You may notice that your cat PURRS MUCH MORE than usual. Along with the added purring non-typical for your particular cat’s behavior, it may keep making “adoring” eye-to-eye contact with you with his/her eyes semi-closed as it gives you silent MEWS (opens his/her mouth as if to meow, but no sound is uttered…as if it’s saying “help, help me please.” )A general difference in behavior…from active, wide-eyed and interested to having a sad-looking facial expression with lethargy, often just laying about with semi-closed eyes and general disinterest in your vocal passages that would once have aroused him/her like: “You Want To EAT?” OR “Come HERE, Sylvester!” OR “Get the Ball, Heidi!”, etc. … This is especially an indication in younger indoor cats less than 13 years of age (yes, this IS considered young for a healthy indoor cat…many live to be over 18).Your once-independent cat may inexplicably begin to “snuggle up” to you with increasing frequency when you’re at rest…looking for every advantageous opportunity to jump into your lap when you’re seated or to lay by your head or side while you’re in bed (and it’s NOT COLD in your house…cats will often normally do this when the temperature is under 68 degrees F. !).It yowls when you make contact with or apply gentle pressure to certain areas of his/her body (with legs and feet may indicate arthritis or chronic pain from a long-in-past declawing procedure; or by the ears may indicate ear mites or an inner-ear infection/abnormality; gentle pressure at the stomach/breast may indicate a malignant tumor within…especially if your modestly-fed cat begins to develop a pregnant appearance with weight-gain).SEVERE PAIN INDICATION: Your cat yowls frequently, for no apparent reason (often a sign of advanced cancer…have a vet confirm and it’s probably time, at this stage, for merciful euthanasia) :-( .ANY OR ALL OF THE ABOVE MAY BE ACCOMPANIED BY INSOMNIA-SYMPTOMS on your cat’s part…frequently awakening during sleep every 15–30 minutes.
